Been watching you for 5 years and I just re-watched this video. Love where you said you were pleased with 3300 subscribers. Now to think you have 242k. Way to go Juan!!
Thanks Juan found your channel about a year ago, it has been simply a pleasure to watch your vids, from flying "The Mighty Luscomb" especially the ones with your son Pete, to the adventure rides on your bikes. Keep the great videos coming.............................. Roger
I had to laugh out loud when I seen the Orange KTM looking tool bag I have the same thing under my seat, I bought my bike used and got no tools with it (500X with RR2 setup) I also carry the same (real life) tire tools, and Silky saw. a tip for you on the silky saw I took a old 21" tube and cut a section out of it about 6" longer than the saw then cut 2 more rings about 3" wide slide the saw inside the tube fold the ends over and slide the rings on each end to hold it in place, works great and protects the rest of your gear from the saw and protects the saw from your other gear.... PS a 19" front wheel is a game changer...
Interesting, my 74-year-old (injured) back would never allow me to ride anymore, but you've definitely got it all down & if only I were just 40 years younger... Hah! OH, I bought some JB Weld in the early 1970s, used it, put it away, pulled it out many times over the years for small jobs, last time was about 2 years ago & it was still as good as new in both tubes, and set-up just like always. How's THAT for a dependable, long-lasting product??? I was amazed & had nearly forgotten I had it all this time. Good video presentation as always man, even though I won't be going on a long ride until the next lifetime, thanks! 😎
Hi Juan. Congrats on the amount of views. I am honoured for being one of 3300 subscribers. Keep them coming. I still have a stock cb500x. Saving money for the stage two. Congrats again. You deserve 3 000 000 more views.
Great packing review! Because I overheat easily, I prefer not to wear anything other than riding apparel and use the larger Great Basin Saddlebag to pack all gear on the bike. When he raced for JCR Honda, Quinn Cody wrote in Dirt Bike magazine that he could ride "twice as far" when pre-running in Baja by taking weight off his body and packing it on his bike with a Giant Loop Saddlebag.
Hey Juan, cool informative video. Can you please please post the list of items you verbally listed, if you post it here many of us followers will be very thankful as some of us are planning to duplicate your 9 day adventure!
@blancolirio I was wondering if you've had any paint scratches on your CB500X, and if you have repaired them, what you have used so far regarding color and brand and how it's holding up. Thank you.
I would put my sleeping bag in a dry bag if packing like this. My tent is often damp in the mornings and I wouldn't want that moisture to get my sleeping bag wet.
"tow rope, not necessary, you ride a Honda". this made me laugh, because I've had to take out the towing rope twice now to pull KTM. No problems with Honda :D
These are just some inexpensive ones from the local motorcycle dealer...no, I didn't change the relay so they blink twice as fast. I would recommend keeping the original if possible, better visibility. I only changed these to fit some racks on my level 2 version of this same bike (see video).
@@blancolirio Aaaaah! I wondered about that when seeing you fit it there...any comments from Rally Raid on that bracket and their instructions to fit it to the water pump? (It also looked like a very vulnerable position there if dropping the bike especially without protective frames?)
unfortunately I live in Virginia and do not have the luxury of trails like y'all out west. Yes sir, I spent $500 on the corbin. No better. Ill have to research the Tall seat. Thanks Sir.
Seat Concepts make a tall foam and cover kit for the stock CB500X seat pan - it basically levels the whole seat - a good option if you have a longer inseam.
hey blancholirio! Barry over at the CrossTrainingEnduroCross channel did a review of this awesome go pro mount you might like better than mounting the go pro on top of the helmet: czcams.com/video/Fad2YA4fU8s/video.html

Thats an impressive inventory. Practical and worth emulating. And as an arborist, I really like your longer Silky saw. Thanks. Been fun.

Real shame zeek my father rode big kilometres up until 75 yoa then the cancer got too much and he only pottered around a bit until passing at 78 yoa
Cracked a transmission in a stock car and put JB weld over the crack. Tranny was still working 2 years later when I sold it.

"that and a little bit of bushnells and you're good for the night!" however business is great mouthwash in the morning before that hot coffee!
Cool Pete. Love it when Pete is around.
Remskii Me too!!

Yes!
Hey Juan, look into super feet insoles for those boots. I love the greens and the wool ones. Trust me you will love them.
Thanks, will do!
Hey Juan. For the sun protection. Cover your face completely while in the helmet.

What kind of front bags were those? They didn't appear to be GL. Thanks for your videos!!

iSlander Haa!..."see...?!"
Good vid! Much better than politics right now.
Rich Emerson Yes! Thanks Rich.
Your videos rock Juan!
Thanks Dave!
What Flush turn signals are those on your tail? Are they LED? Did you have to replace the signal relay?

What throttle lock do you use? Thanks for the great CB500x videos!
Good question, I'll have to look...just a real simple and effective one.
Justin Brundin omni cruise is a good one looks likes Juan's
Justin Brundin i've got the Omni cruise on mine
Great video!! How do you think the CB would fit a taller rider? I'm 6'4"
They can get cramped, check a stock bike as the ergos don't change (yet) with the Rally Raid mods, other than putting your foot down to terra firme.
what vest is that? like all the pockets. a link to the text radio GPS unit would of been solid.
Ogio flight vest. Yes, I like the Delorme Tracker too.
I mounted my GOPRO on left side of my back pack
What happened to the RR rear shock external reservoir mounted on the water pump? Seems to have dissapeared?
Moved it further aft...too hot up by water pump.
@@blancolirio Aaaaah! I wondered about that when seeing you fit it there...any comments from Rally Raid on that bracket and their instructions to fit it to the water pump? (It also looked like a very vulnerable position there if dropping the bike especially without protective frames?)
the name of the moveable fot stand?
How do you stand all these miles on that STOCK seat!!! At 6' Im starting to feel "scrunched" up on this bike. Might need to sell it.
"STAND UP!!!" Anytime on the trail you should be standing up all the time anyway. Also consider a 'tall' seat...
