- A detailed look at the refinements on Jenny's bike.
Jenny Morgan has raced the Dakar Rally and many others and had the original inspiration to create this design for a reasonably sized adventure bike.
John Mitchinson of Rally Raid in the U.K. made it a reality.
Harold Cecil of Giant Loop is the US distributor for the kit.
I bought the 1st US production kit.

She does such good run downs. This is surely going be my first adventure bike!
every time i see one of your videos it really makes me want to buy a cb500x
Every time I see one of your videos it really makes me think 'Bloke or girl?'
I love Jenny's videos.. thx!
Great video, thank you for the advice and the description. Honda cb500x is a great motorcycle
Looks like Mingel pass and Ballarat .. I looked for the cb500 crew at the expo but didn't see any . I left on saturday though and headed back to Pahrump ,got tired of the wind at the lake .... Always enjoy your vid's . Keep em comin ....
Nice one Jenny. Love what you guys have done with the CB500X. I was hoping to take one for a test ride when I was staying with my gf in NorthHampton, but it wasn't to be. Keep up the innovative efforts and the passion!
great video. i loved the color scheme on jenny morgan's bike.
Thanks! she knows how to make it 'pop!'
looks like africa twin =)
@@MrWeatherstorm it does. Like a mini Africa, I love that idea. I'm sure honda gave taken that on board that there is a market for a smaller Africa twin and I think the cb500x is it
@@ThiefOfNavarre Lol. cb500x usual bike, Africa - true dualsport. Its different bikes.
Ah, tis a thing of beauty.
I love the white launch bike colour scheme. Probably getting harder to find a 2014 bike with low miles and damage free in UK now though ( Sept 2017 ).
Awesome vid Juan.
thanks Subix!
Perfect bike!
Another good video Jenny! Had my wife watch it as well.
I'm impressed with her knowledge of bikes. Great stuff to know. I have been looking for a new bike I can ride off road and on. Any suggestions for a short gal. I'm 5'3". Seat height always seems to be a problem for me. I have rode both street and off road bikes all my life. Most off roads in the Wyoming mountains.
I just sold my cb500x 😭 . Bought a Ktm 990. When watching your videos I want it back
That 990 is a BIG Bike! Would you take it down Mengle Pass?
+blancolirio I will try to build up my off road abilities progressively, then I'll try! Greetings from Costa Rica!
Ahhh that's a long way from Mengle Pass LoL enjoy the 990 in Costa Rica, send us some video and show us around!
+blancolirio Sure! With my cb500x I went up to Antigua, in Guatemala, a 2700km round trip. I am planning in going up the US with the KTM (I still have doubts reliability wise, though)
+blancolirio Your videos are inspirational man, I'd really like meeting you!
I bet it blew her mind on how much open country we have to ride in. People from the other side of the pond don't have that luxury as much as we do.
The fork air bleeders are used when the bike is on the stand, not with the weight of the bike on the fork.
Looks good!
Lets see if Honda listens :)
For the most part they have. 2019 model has 5/10 of these features
i like the travel bag
Hi, I have the 2018 model of this bike.. Im much concerned about the sound, I want it very loud.. Do you suggest a straight pipe or slip on ?
Hey Juan I just received the RR3 kit from Giant-loop, I was wondering about the front wheel spacer I saw on your build video my front wheel didn't come with one is this a part that is no longer necessary ? I am excited to make these changes to my bike.
Not sure about latest changes...should be two black spacers for front wheel....Check with RR and or GL, if missing they'll get it to you pronto.
What is the purpose of going with the fat bars versus the stock oem bars? I am inclined to stick with the stock bars as I find them comfortable and they cost around 30 bucks to replace if they meet some sort of calamity and get bent.
I kept my stock bars for the same reasons.
Michael Reinfeldt
The thing is, fat bars don't bend!
Michael Reinfeldt then keep them
nice jacket!
Raden!
How far out into the wilderness do you guys go? I want to build one. It will be my first dual sport!
As far as possible..
The lady is a fountain of knowledge on the cb500x adventure, it would be interesting to see the equipment she carries on the bike compared to yours. Is it very spartan or are you just built for comfort :-)
Yes! This entire Rally Raid design started with her original inspiration (interview to be posted soon).
Equipment video coming soon too. Jenny knows from memory the size of each nut and bolt on the CB500X...
That's a lady?
Carlos Leon thought the same thing had to check the name twice could be sex change
I can’t believe that Honda has fitted a cable clutch instead of hydraulic
Price point! Think about it.
JUAN, HI as I said there were No things, such as dirt bikes, nor anyplace to ride then ALL PRIVATE PROPERTY , I rode so many different bikes ,,but once browned a VELOCETTE 500CC SINGLE That was some bike then came the VINCENT, btw both bikes were originally owned by the same person I bought them from , @ that time in life there was only 1 road you could fly,on 130 was as fast as I went , I last saw it in 1959, not ever expecting to not have gone back soon , my dad either sold it, or gave it away, like everything else There was only 1. Bike where the shifter was ON THE RIGHT, but do NOT recall what it was, , BTW NONE of those Nike’s ever had ELECTRIC START& they ALL HAD DRUM BRAKES STAY WELL CHEERS 🏴🇬🇧🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Lube chain on the inside not on the outside , centrifugal forces
Where can I get a tail bag similar to the one you have on the CB in the uk
John Baker two brothers in poland
Non-ABS? What year is it?
Where can someone get those plastics?
I am 72 and reasonably fit. Am I crazy for considering entering this world?
Try some light dirt bike riding 1st.
@@blancolirio thanks Juan. Just what I was thinkin. Be safe sir.
would this bike good for commuting incase
Cyrus Dvyrus yes!
I commute on mine. It's ideal.
thanks for info. no spacer were sent
They'll make it right.
What's the seat height please?
34"
Thank you. We have enjoyed being able to tag along on your trip 😀
Don't get me wrong, I love this bike (and concept in general), but I think it would make more sense to just get a VStrom 650X ABS, which is cheaper, only weighs a little bit more, and doesn't require much modification. I'd still love to have the CB500X with this kit though...
Not when you wanna go off roading with Jenny LOL!
It only makes more sense to me as a big street bike that looks adventuresome.
Get a 650X and come along with us...it'll be fun! ;-)
Well luckily I don't need to choose either, because I already have a 2014 DR650 which I love ;) I sat on the CB500X with the RR kit at a motorcycle show recently and thought it looked awesome. If only I could have a fleet of bikes...
DR800 and DR650 are the real OG's lol single cylinder ftw!
With the rally raid stage 3 the cost and the weight increase a fair bit. Best part of £2k more and 10kg+ extra weight
Its a road bike compromise. Over compicated and too much to break. Heavt
50,000 miles mostly off road, dirt roads zero breakdowns.
Have never been interested in that bike, another ugly creation from Honda, but I do see something in the 2023 CL500, but in true Honda style, they always manage to f*** it up...they put the ignition barrel where the custom fuel tank would cover, what was wrong with the top yoke? I dunno if the key is chipped yet, if it isn't, a Moto Gadget M-Lock would have to be fitted...idiotic, why I haven't looked at Honda for year, why they are losing on the track, they need a clear out, maybe employ the entire Suzuki GP Team for MotoGP?
