Present-day climate activists continuously state that young people are being let down by older people and those in power; the boomers. But what if the lack of understanding in regards to our activism comes from elders who have not enjoyed the privileges of the white, western, middle class boomer generation? In this episode, we discuss the generational conflicts in Black activism. Is activism a white thing? (0:50); Is the older generation misogynistic or homophobic? (8:45); Did our parents fail to give us the tools to fully exist in western societies? (19:30); Were our parents too occupied with survival and assimilation in their time? (30:10). At the table are: Ali Abdi, Dominique Capadose, Harmony Benegusenga & Lieven Miguel Kandolo.

Without the LGBTQ community, we would've never had a liberation? That's a stretch..Please give honor where honor is due, that's a strong statement and a false one as well. Also, I've never heard of anyone speak on fluid sexuality before the colonial era and have never found information on this, would be curious to know the sources. But overall great episode, these are important conversations to have!
