  • Lymphatic Drainage Massage plays a major role in lymphatic health. Lymphatic drainage is a massage-like technique that is used in a special sequence to move lymphatic fluid throughout the body or out of an area that is congested. Lymphatic health is essential to your immune and overall health. In this video, we go through a FULL-BODY lymphatic drainage massage routine from start to finish. This shows which direction to massage and even lymphatic drainage for the back and hips. As a certified lymphedema physical therapist (CLT-LANA), I will guide you through lymphatic drainage step-by-step.

Nobody warned me, told me to expect it, let alone how to ease it.
Thankfully I have finally realised what it is and then found you. For the first time in months I can feel my arm and am free of pain.

I’m a licensed massage therapist and certified in manual lymphatic drainage. I attended the first MLD school in the US that teaches the Vodder method. They emphasized that manual lymphatic drainage is not massage. And everytime I see it in posts and videos, I educate others to clarify the differences. Lymphatic drainage is a complementary therapy. MLD can be done then followed up with massage. Massage is deeper than the superficial lymphatic layers.

    • @JazlynnBeltran

Yea from my understanding the manual drainage could be done on anyone. Where as the massage cannot be done on people whose swelling is due to cardiovascular issues because it can cause fluid overload to the heart

I have memorized but I still come back as it forces me to be patient with my body and not rush. My ex boyfriend spent time in the hospital and he said they gave him lymph clearing massages every other day. So he asked if he could give me one because it will boost my immune system and it's just good for your health. He massaged me from head to toe in one direction from core to finger tips and from core to toes. He said all the bad energy and toxins have to go out through your ties and finger tips. He did the whole thing backwards! And my lymph system was stimulated alright. I got so sick!! My hands and feet swelled up from built up lymph fluid and he pushed the fluid into my feet and hand with his massage. Never get a massage from an amateur. I don't know if he did it wrong on purpose - he was evil like that - or if his hospital massages were done by incompetent nurses but I'll never get a message from anyone but a trusted professional.

If it makes you feel any better every time I have tried to move my own lymph and was certain I was doing it properly. I get an infection of sorts whether it be viral or just get sick so I don’t do it anymore, and I would be nervous to even have it done by professional because of the fact That I always get sick after the slightest movement .

I did the full body lymphatic massage and the next day my rt armpit is very sensitive. Does that mean anything? I suffer from Bartonella, a coinfection of Lyme disease and we are left to basically treat ourselves so I don’t have a “doctor “ to talk to. I just want to know if having a tender lymph after doing this means anything or if it means I need to do it again to help “stuff” through.
    Thank you.

Is there any chance you could address arm fistula edema? We are having a difficult time trying to keep fluid down even with gentle rubbing. Of course we can’t tape the arm, but would you agree we can do the hand and around and above the elbow? This wouldn’t be so exasperating but the fluid buildup is a lot.

Thank you so much, I have hEDS and POTS so everything just builds up. How often should this be done? ❤
