I had lipodema all my life and never understood why I was so heavy in my hips and thighs I literally was two sizes bigger on my hips.
Long story short I asked my GP who diagnosed me in 2022.
I read sugar and gluten as a problem so I gave them up and changed to a Carnivore Diet (loads of vids Dr Ken Berry, Dr sean Baker, Beef and Butter Gal) and over eight months it reduced and I dropped two and a half stone and two trouser sizes. Im size 14 UK which ive not been since my teens I’m now in my sixties!!! I feel and look so much younger with way better energy levels.
No sugar cravings after a few days.
    Lifelong clinical depression gone!
I hope this helps someone. If I can do it anyone can! x

Congratulations! I am doing keto and it has made a difference in the leg swelling. I try to do intermittent fasting 16/8, sometimes 18/6. I'm wondering if I do longer states of autophagy if it will help get rid of the bad fat cells/connective tissue disorder. Do you fast?

Your liver makes 75% cholesterol and is needed for the body to function.. There have been new studies done that show high cholesterol was NEVER BAD!.. It was pushed on us by a guy named Ansel Keys.. no clinical studies were done to prove cholesterol was bad.. He thought eating fat makes you fat and clog your arteries.. I have lipodema (only stage 1) and have greatly reduced swelling and problems through bike riding for exercise (1-1.5 hours several times a week, if not daily), and intermittent fasting 16 hours a day. I also stopped red meat and almost never eat chicken. I eat whole foods for the most part (occasional cheating on chips or a homemade cookie or sweet roll seems to be OK as long as it's rare). Never eat processed food. I lost 15 pounds without "dieting", I just eat well, don't eat after 7pm and fast until 11am., then I eat as much as I want. I have olive oil in my diet, eat lots of vegetables, beans, nuts, and fruits. I make homemade granola with healthy fats and a small amount of honey or maple syrup (it doesn't taste sweet, and I've gotten used to it because I make it crunchy and toasty and eat with apples and berries). I eased into all of the above over several years, and I don't think anyone can jump in and change heaven and earth and have it work. Begin by increasing the good and decreasing the harmful. Feeling good and being healthy reinforces good eating. Don't judge yourself, just try to do better the next day!

@@lalitahalawar2198 not necessarily, could be a temporary swelling that resolves itself eventually, but can be warning sign for a few things... if you ever need t get a surgery involving removing a lymph node, let them know as you might easily get it.. good news there are tests they can give you before hand to see how susceptible you are and dont let them wave it away.. Other vascular problems also cause edema (swelling ) you also may have other things that need attention, and lastly there is a lot of undiagnosed lymphedema out there.. a lot.. some people have it for years and dont know it so if you have had a already a lymph node removed.. if you are swelling every day and it never quite resolves .. that is a real sign...in any case I would when traveling move and jump and shake your limbs as often as you can.

Keto diet took care of it for me. I started getting bat wings and squishy cellulite when I was 12, and I grew up in a healthy household, we ate all homemade food, low fat, very little sugar. I became an exercise fiend at age 12, always dieted/ starved myself, under ate and over exercised. I finally went keto in my late 20s and the fat evaporated and I was a solid size 2-4 for about 15 years until life changing injuries happened. My exercise almost disappeared and I got sloppy about my eating and the bat wings came back. I have all of the co-symptoms: severe pcos and extremely high estrogen, also since I was about 12. I’ve had lots of systemic infections with swollen lymph nodes all over my body from childhood until I went keto. I’m finally getting more exercise again after 6 years of PT, doing more fasting, hoping to be normal again.

I watched this a year ago and followed all the diet advice given plus daily lymphatic massage & exercise.
I also used skin brushing, gua sha and short hot to cold showers over the year.
I am utterly astonished at the results.
I’ve had Lipedema since puberty mainly on my legs-mid thigh, knee, calf and ankle.
No matter how slim my upper body, hips & Butt, my legs have always been like columns with no definition, fat at inner knees, shins, dorsal foot etc. I also had inner elbow fat
Not only have I lost 26lb in weight this year, its gone from my knees & calves, shins & elbows and my limbs for the first time in my life look “Normal Shaped”
My lovely Lipodema Friends, this is TOUGH to follow.
    But it WORKS!!!
Ps. I stopped drinking alcohol completely and would recommend the same to others to get my results ie don’t just “reduce” alcohol. It’s so worth it.

Having a healthy gut microbiome also has stabilised my Relapsing Remitting Multiple Sclerosis, and works for all AutoImmune diseases.

He has been mostly over the target, at recommending soy and lentils for argenine right after his gut permeability information. Soy is an inflammatory food, and legumes such as lentils and beans have slimy lectin, a bio-film that also inflames the lining if the small intestine and kills good gut bacteria. And BTW, gluten is a PROTEIN, not a highly refined carbohydrate. Whole grain is the problem and why gluten gets the bad wrap (pun intended) because of the outer grain shell. You can have vital wheat protein WITHOUT the grain that encases it! GRAIN is the carbohydrate and all grains at this point, have been genetically modified which we do not have the natural, God-given enzymes to breakdown. In fact, our body does not recognize these hybrid monsters in the gut, and THAT'S why we become intolerant and develop allergic reactions. WE MUST BAN ALL GENETICALLY MODIFIED FOODS AND THROW MONSANTO OUT OF OUR GOVERNMENT'S BACK POCKET: THE CORRUPT FDA!

Some parents are afraid to use their own milk to feed their babies because they hear it’s contaminated. What do they think is in artificial baby food aka formula? All of this advice is perfect and right on point. I was born with primary lymphedema and wasn't diagnosed until I was four (4) I'm 50 now. Yes eating healthy and exercising is the best way that I have been able to maintain it and have lived a fun and active life. As a child I had experimental surgery because it was so rare,my family took me to many doctors. 1 included widening of the veins on the tops of my feet which eliminated a lot of the swelling on one side 70% and decreased it by 40% on the other. My legs do still swell, especially around that time of the month. Investing in a good shoes and keeping your feet clean and if you can pedicured. Lotion is A+ good for the skin and for getting massaged. I do my 6 zones and pedi myself. Feeling pampered, especially when you aren't sure what your legs will look like through the end of day is a blessing. Bottom line eating right will be normal eating. Promise you. Hopes this helps you feel better and stay positive.Stay beautiful and strong.

This is what all our Drs / GPs / health care workers & schools in the UK should be teaching their patients / kids. As part of their most basic duty of care . They should be drilling this info into us all, because if we all had good regular advice from our GPs ect, about improving gut health & tell people better "WHY" they need to cut down on bad stuff because of its inflammatory effects on the body, then we'd all / most of us would be so much better off for it. PLUS it would help ease & save our NHS & all its related cost & quality related problems.

Of course they aren’t going to volunteer to do that. They love to stay rich making money off others’ misery. All of the idiots out there that put their trust and faith in the health care system like it’s actually there to help you. Stupidity and gullibility like that doesn’t deserve to be saved. Sorry, it is NOT really about eating fat, it is about the inability to process junky oxidized fat (liquid oils used at high temperatures for example). It binds with sugary carbs and creates havoc in your gut and colon. It really is an insulin resistance, sugar and carb issue, NOT a fat issue. Intermittent dieting (rotating OMAD, 16:8 and 20:4), Autophagy fasting (alternate day fasting of cycles of 24 to 36 hrs) and Gluten and Dairy-free clean keto diet with the meals you do eat - it makes it go away by 90%. It is not the fat you are eating, it is the fact you are eating sugar with BAD fats that respond poorly in your body and prevent your body from processing the food, and then you bloat and that bloat has to go somewhere. Eat-in moderation, but STOP eating sugar and excessive carbs (live on less than 100 grams of carbs a day if you exercise and ONLY 50 grams a day if you don't). And healthy fats -avocado and coconut, grass-fed butter, and animal fat that are raised to eat grass and biologically appropriate diets. You will nearly cure it. For a complete cure, you need Liposuction and lymph drainage but NO ONE wants to admit that because then insurance is going to have to pay for it.

@@PaulineHendricks-wt9oc I'm not the OP, so apologies for butting in... but, most people do consider small amounts of dairy to be part of the carnivore diet, which is basically a stricter keto diet. If dairy is causing your issues to worsen, I would personally stop drinking coffee (it'll suck for a while, but if it's benefitting your health...). But if it's not causing you any trouble, I wouldn't worry about a little bit of milk in your coffee. Ultimately, everyone's gut is different and you just need to find what works for you. I'd say, from a keto perspective, cutting down your carbs/sugar is much more important than completely cutting out dairy! Obviously, I don't know if that's still true from a lipodema perspective, though.

Hello I have lymphedema in my legs . I too did not have any luck with socks. But wrapping the with a thin foam.then over that long stretch bandages like aces bandages .whip first one way the the second counterclockwise so basically one goes clockwise the other counterclockwise like 4:30 in the morning here. you also need to see a vascular surgeon. I wouldn’t have surgery no way, but they are very helping in getting you wraps. You can also go with a Velcro wrap you have to be fitted for that we have auto insurance, so basically it pays for most of it except for the foam or is bandages. If you can afford it, some not all physical therapist know how to treat us oddly I went to Henry Ford Hospital in Michigan like four times. No one new what it Was. was a real nightmare. He had a home care nurse tell me it was because I ate broth one day and then I got lymphedema the next. I was miserable at the time and my sweet, sweet husband, who is kind, compassionate, loving,. when the nurse was ready to leave, my husband, Alex score deserve to the door, and he paused for a minute and told her don’t ever come back here. She was nasty to begin with. wish you all the luck in the world in God’s mighty blessings. Margie

The high fat keto diet for 4 months caused me to get elevated cholesterol and triglycerides (319 & 230) and eventually lower leg and feet swelling. I was eating a VERY high fat diet. Roasted fatty pork belly and wings with the skin, lots of home made mayo with avocado oil, butter, ghee, coconut oil, nuts, avocado, I was chowing down on any fats I got my hands on. it was delicious, but it wasn't good for me.
I was DX'd with lymphedema yesterday and will get corrective surgery on poor veins in my lower legs. Was glad to find this video.
Beans are a great way to get rid of fat soluble toxins in the GI tract.
If you've been eating a high fat diet, I think eating beans daily will lower your cholesterol rather fast.
And this time I think I'll do a plant based diet, with eggs or fish 2x a week because it could save your life.

Thank you so much for this video. I have been doing Dr Eric Berg’s healthy keto, OMAD and 2,3,4 day fasting for 3 months. I had stage 2 Lipedema, am 5.0’ and started at 70kgs. In that time I have been only eating the suggested Lipedema benefitting foods in this video and lost 5kgs. The last 7 days I started taking L-arganine and Diosmin supplements, (these were the only ones I found available to Australia) and I have lost 3kgs! What is absolutely thrilling for me is it has all come off my lipo legs. I no longer have that start of lipo fat protruding from my hips and my legs are starting to take shape. Thank you so much! After 40 years of trying every possible diet, herb, training, therapy... I finally have something that works.

No idea why I have lymphedema and feet/LL still swell and the only correlation I have noticed is its worse when the weather is hot (even if I don’t go outside) that tells me there may be a barometric component to it. I have barometric vertigo and am highly sensitive overall. Who knows, I’ll try the protocol and see if it helps.

If you purchase or raise livestock this way you have much healthier meats, eggs and dairy. If they are mob grazed on diverse pasture, even better.

I’ve had 4 sentinel lymph nodes removed with a breast cancer lumpectomy and have berm terrified of getting lymphedema ever since. You’ve calmed my fears quite a bit as 10 years ago I switched to mostly vegan Whole Foods plant diet with plenty of big green salads, green smoothies and seeds, berries and beans. Occasionally eat animal products as a condiment, unfortunately desserts are a downfall on occasion as are tortilla chips at a restaurant. But my diet by far is more healthy than unhealthy. I also have regularly had at least 12 hours between dinner and breakfast for years. Funny how the most important things are under our own control snd doctors and even physical therapists don’t have a clue about diet being a major factor in this!! I’m grateful. Thank you.

Thank you for your lecture. I'm going to try to find your book. My husband had 5his and is a sugar and salt addict. Not sure if he'll listen sadly.

I don't know if I had lymodema buy I have lymphoma and 9 months ago I was 60 lbs heavier than present. I cut calories to between 800 to 1000 daily had two small meals 4 eggs whites, spices unsweetened cold brew and a chicken breast or boneless pork a few hrs later. No more food, no treats, no days off and logging my food. I deflated from Size 18 to size 12. I have 20 lbs to go to be standard weight. I do think we all eat wayyy too much in north America.

@sonjagatto9981 thank u ... since a year ago I've been able to increase my caloric intake to 1609 - 1700 a day which is much less than avg ppl eat and I've maintained weight, and fully satiated. I thank God for his help.

Restaurants all use bad (and cheap) vegetable oil, even even expensive ones. When I stopped eating out due to Covid, I suddenly started losing weight, although I ate the same food at home. Just eating out on weekends was enough to cause problems, because of restaurant vegetable oils.

Precisely. But unfortunately many do not realise this as the cause & the same applies to supermarket ready meals

@16:09, for people who eat beef or want to, grass-finished beef is high in Omega-3s, higher than the grain-finished. You can buy it and eat it. 👍

Your lymphatic system is a system like your circulatory system. However it does not have the valves that push the fluids along like your blood system. It depends on you walking to move the fluids along. Inactivity leads to fluids collecting in the legs.
