Africa Speaks is the new energy-infused, full-length album from Santana. It features the soulful vocals of Afro-Latin singer Buika and was produced by legendary producer Rick Rubin. Santana and his eight-piece band (featuring his wife, Cindy Blackman Santana, on drums), convened at Rubin’s Shangri La Studios in Malibu, and in a joyous and stimulating 10-day period they recorded an astonishing number of tracks, many of them in one take. Inspired by the melodies, sounds and rhythms of Africa, Santana has created a truly memorable and powerful experience that also promises to be one of his most groundbreaking albums yet.

Africa Speaks is the best CD I have bought in years. Huge high five to Carlos Santana. He might be the single most inspiring guitar player I have ever heard. I play. I find my joy in creating, not a big fan of learning other people's songs. When I am uninspired and depressed I find Santana to be the prescription and remedy. This is Shamanic channeling not top 40 swill.
I love Rick Rubin. He produced a lot of my favorite albums. Can't wait to delve into this album today!

Feels a little disheartening Carlos. All of the music that used to fill my heart, back in the day plays in Las Vegas for the most part. There are a few new musicians and song writers that capture ones heart these days. Saw you at Arrowhead stadium Kansas City in 1975-76. Music from the heart! 😊

"In Search of Mona Lisa" reignited my passion for Santana. It was jut an ep, but a magnificent one at that...leaving me craving more. While this is a different project altogether, I'm stoked that a full length album was recorder with the MIGHTY RICK RUBIN! Man, I could go on and on praising all the favourite albums of mine he produced. Very special to have these massive forces, of artists and producer, joining in this musical endevour. It's a great Friday - Sunrise records, here in Thunder Bay had the album in stock! Going to spin it now! Definitely in the mood for some serious soul! Thanks for this!

Africa is much more a melting pot than it gets credit for. I believe civilization may have very well originated there. However in more modern times multiple European nations and cultures have been imposed on Africa with or without her consent. The African-Latino blend is one of hundreds. However leave it up to a musical genius and all around good human being to bring something so positive and apolitical out of it as the great Carlos Santana would! Thank you Amigo!
