As an ex-machinist(of machine tools), I can say that there is so much machinery snobbery in this world. Anyone needing 10ths or micron accuracy will always match in house, REGARDLESS of brand, just like mag chucks on surface grinders, etc. Nice review - keep safe and well.
Pretty good value for the money John, I desperately need a set so will take my chances on your link. If they are not as good when they arrive, I can always tidy them up on the surface grinder so nothing to lose. Good video. Cheers, Jon
Hey John. They look pretty damn good. Not that I doubt they are, indeed, parallel, but there is one thing you could have done to eliminate any doubt - the 180° test. Do your setup in the vice, then flip the parallels 180° in the vice and verify that the reading is identical.
Hello John, I am perhaps stupid, but how can I ask you for a minor machining operation on a small part? It is a carburettor for an 0,7 cu.in O.S 4-stroke air-plane engine wich needs to be widen just slitghtly to acommodate the induction pipe. The old one wich is very fancy and pressurized, pumped and all that shite does not work, so I opt for a normal carb wich I have, however not quite fitting. It is a bit delicate, so chucking will be a problem. Only about 0,1..0,2 mm on the inside diameter of the carburettor muff is to be removed. I suppose the O-ring in the muff won't bother about the slight diameter change, or you may say otherwise. How can I contact you ? Excuse me for my bad English, I am from Sweden. Besides, be carful with your fingers, you only have five on each hand.
Love the parcel banding tip to hold the parallels in place.
Yeah! I've always thrown that stuff away from crates and such. I'll hang on to some next time round.
Makes fairly good shim stock also! The different widths are frequently different in thickness also! Have used them in the welding shop for decades.
This is the first vid I've ever been able to read the micrometer scale , you'redoing someright John.

John, Thanks for testing these parallels out for us, gives us confidence that they are of the quality we expect to get.
Take Care and Stay Safe.

Thanks for the review John. Much appreciated.
great idea with the spring clip.
Thanks for the banding tip John 👍👨🏻🏭
Got the set awhile back, happy with mine.
Need to have Bob grind the old mismatched sets of Parallels. Another great Banggood tool review.
I've got a set of those parallels, I like mine, for the money you can't beat'um. Great review John.

Nice one John, I've picked up a similar set recently, certainly accurate enough for the shoddy work I do!
And me
Parallel parallels. Can't say fairer. I've got a set like this. They are great. Nice to see you mid-week again.
Look ok for general shop use .
John is enjoying himself, listen to that heavy breathing 😛
I think John has swallowed that mic. The next fart will be deafening😨
I think he needs to quit smoking
@@Craneman4100wHow does someone who is already a non smoker quit smoking?
@@Craneman4100w He quit sometime ago...hopefully it was in time.
I thought he was having a leg over.
Lovely stuff John 👌
Great review. Great video. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you John... a good review...
Thank you for the review.
Thanks for sharing!!!
I know there are places where tenths are worth the premium, but my little hobbit hole of a machine shop is not one of them. Well, yet.
Great review john 👍
second, thank for the revue john they seem to do what it said on the tin!
Do you think they could send you a set of adjustable parallels to review?
You were lucky to have a good set. Their ad says “Please allow 1-5mm error due to manual measurement.”…
As long as each pair is the same the nominal size is irrelevant.
How do you know that Banggood hasn't sent you a set that are hand-picked for accuracy?
Break cleaner, hand cleaner. It’s all the same. I like to spray it on my tongue. 😋
i find the little plastic tube off a wd40 can fits nicely into the nozzle and you can spray it up your nose 🤣
I have these too, and guess what........ "there parallel !! "
😁😆🤣
Great video. What about the vice rear jaw, bet its better than the front one ??

Should do the job
as per brill
I wonder who that clumsy bastard was lol.
First 😀
Great video but because I am a NEW YORKER your accent is too thick for me to understand you when you talk.....not your fault.
Imagine that he puts "muthafucka, aaaaaaight" on the end of every phrase, it'll be just like being at home.
Bastadd Parallels!
