    I design 3D terrain for tabletop gaming. Been 3 weeks and I’m impressed with Bambu. Not only the quality is mind blowing, the normal speed of the printing…..I design a decently sized piece of terrain and while it’s printing, I design the next one. When I’m done…the printer is done lol. I had to wait 17hrs for the print…this thing prints the equivalent part for 3 and a half hours.

    I was a Creality guy too back in the day, I kept seeing all these rave reviews of this new guy Bambu and would have sworn it was hype. Who could design a brand new printer and hit it out of the park first printer? Well last Christmas I bought one and wow, how wrong I was and so amazing how far we have come so quickly.

    Nice to see you finally pop up with a new video. I think it's been quite a while. You were the reason I got my S1 Pro, and when you got your Bambu's I used that as an excuse to get a X1C last year as well. Couldn't he happier with it. A few struggles here and there but it has been awesome!!

      Get an A1 mini to start! I have both and the mini handles 90% of what I print. Didn’t think I could be blown away after owning a x1c - longer than this guy… But I am! As a matter of fact, get FOUR minis instead of one x1c. 😅😆😉

    We have also 8 units in our factory and they are indeed fantastic machines. You just have to be careful when needing strong parts to slow down the printing speed to a reasonable level. The enclosure does help prevent warpage and also make parts a bit stronger than open frame printers.

    Just waiting to receive my P1S with AMS im so anxious, been going back and forth for the past month trying to decide between P1S and X1C and finally figured out that the X1C is not worth the extra money at this time, if i need more exotic materials i'll just upgrade the extruder and hotend down the road :) keep it up!

    • @MartinsonManufacturing
      @MartinsonManufacturing  Před 3 měsíci +4

      Agreed. If I were to purchase again, I'd just get the P1S instead of the X1C.

    • @DaveBuildsThings

      Got my P1S with AMS back in September and it now has 550 print hours on it. The print quality and speed is incredible! This is as close to plug and play as you can get with a 3D printer. I call it my Star Trek "Replicator". I design a part, slice it, send it off to the printer and after a spell I have my finished part. One thing to keep an eye on is when it extrudes the poop. Sometimes the wiper doesn't knock the poop from the nozzle. Usually on the first print as things inside are cooler than after running a few prints. No big deal though. I just pull the pooped filament off of the nozzle before it starts the nozzle cleaning cycle and let it run. A small issue really. Not sure if others have this issue but I thought I'd mention it. Also, if you're running big prints with PLA that take time, keep the door open to let the heat out. PLA doesn't print well when the enclosure gets heated up. Found that out the hard way after running a 4.5 hour job only to find the print ruined after 3 hours of printing.

    Was new to 3D Printing ten months ago and the P1P has been amazing. Literally zero learning curve with very little maintenance other than 'cold creep' due to shutting the machine off too soon. Been printing mainly PLA and TPU for kids at the school where I work. LOL: Toys4Cans - It's been a blast.

    I've been very leery about the Bambu Labs machines and really appreciate this video. The print volume is a tad small for my needs and I was hoping to see more upgrade paths for these. For example, I like that Wham Bam offers a bed for them. I have been wondering if Slice or other vendors would offer enhanced hot ends for these. My friends have these and overall, they really like them but they find doing work on them to be a bit challenging. At work I manage a fleet of Ultimaker S5's and those are very solid, yet not as fast (they came out in 2018). At home I have a print farm of 22 machines, mostly bed slingers with newer electronics, Slice hot ends and Bondtech extruders.

      @@scaramonga I admittedly was a bit nervous because I saw it was a bed slinger, but after seeing a few reviews, wow. So excited! As well as the recent sale, its almost the same price as a crap ender 3.

      @@casualcombine One bit of advice, if I may buddy, grab the HS hot end for it, in fact, grab a couple, as they are cheap as chips, and run with that permanently, no matter what filament ;) Quality is supreme from this nozzle. SS one is fine also, but when you get the chance, swap it. Always good to have spares anyway, but go for the HS variant.

    Would you be interested in making a video about how you dial in print settings for PETG? I've been having trouble finding a good profile for MatterHackers PETG, usually I decide if I'd rather get good bed adhesion at the higher bed temp or have supports that can be removed without destroying the part. I'm pretty sure I have the old style textured plate though, maybe an upgrade would let me print at slightly lower temps for better quality.
    Also, glad to see you made it through the rough patch you were dealing with when you were last posting videos!

      @MartinsonManufacturing  Před 3 měsíci +1

      The printed between the two are identical. I'd say the X1C's prints are about 2-5% nicer. Maybe that's just because it's temperature controlled. I'd personally just buy the enclosed P1S instead.

    My only concern is the closed ecosystem. As I am prepping for my first printer purchase, I want something reliable, and fast, and every review/overview I've seen of the P1P/S and X1 have been glowing, with the exception of one reviewer who I think just got that one in a thousand dud. But the closed nature and reliance on Bambu Cloud kind of bugs me. I know they have a dedicated Lan mode, but I just feel like that closed nature of the machine is going to be a problem in the future. I keep going back and forth between getting a P1S or a Creality K1C. As the K1C just Runs Klipper and affords so much more freedom, But QC issues and the silicone brush that's essentially glued to its build plate kind of bugs me.

    lets be honest (1st subbing 😁) mk3 Prusa's are over priced!!! But they do give you gummy bears to help soften the blow! (it's needed!!) there are simply to many printers that out perform it at much lower cost today!!! Prusa really needs to step up their game because most are loyalist using it or people that bite of past reputation (they are simple offering out dated machines..) my first machine was a Tevo Tornado 2018 sp-edition (CR-10 clone on steroids) honestly I still have never used it and have been buying upgrades Printing up Grades, yeah its weird its my little first printer treasure I never use but modify. over and over again, yes it's weird, I treat no other machine the same way just printed cable chains or some linear rail mods, at least I use them lol (maybe one day lol) sorry whats the point ahh yes, I don't even have the money to by a Bambulab Printer yet even though I have been watching them before they even went on Kickstarter.. proudly I plan on getting an A1 within a month or two because at least I will finally have a Bambu in my Farm! lol I took to long to get more BIQU BX now they jumped back up to 5-hondo 😬😬😬😬 an A1 is a hondo cheaper!!!!! any ways always wanted a Bambu Printer just was never at my budget is it worth it absolutely buuuut their is one problem I can Print up to 420 and my every day driver is 320! 256 is very limiting!! they need to start making larger machines Niche or not!!!

  • @stevenmitchell7830
    @stevenmitchell7830 Před 3 měsíci

    At about 3000 hours 10% of the machines have the belts break. 10% more fail for each 300 hours you run them forward beyond 3000 hours. Enclosed machines are more prone to belts breaking because of the elevated temperatures. Haven't seen many P1P belts go unless the machine is enclosed. Not expensive to fix. The belts are cheap, but it takes a couple of hours to disassemble the covers, toolhead and tensioners. Some of the belt ends are difficult to free from the toolhead. So in a farm it is better to turn the machines over at 3000 hours and buy again.

  • @mkhmkh1266

    Running on LAN mode,. my P1P liked to occasionally drop off the radar and not talk to Orcaslicer. Nothing like being ready to print, and suddenly you cannot. And you spend 20 minutes trying to get comms back. I think it is an intentional bug to get you to put it on the cloud. Just like them disabling the camera when you use LAN mode. I just sold mine at a discount to a buddy and bought a Q1 for the heated chamber and to not deal with the totally closed ecosystem. I have other printers, but I wanted the P1P to be my utility printer. It failed because I do not want the cloud.

    I would not have the same impressions as you 😉
    First of all, the costumer service is inexistent they will not resolve your issues ( from my point of view) and they will break like others because is not built to last but better than others 🤔 second thing is that you will not find all the parts that you need ( ex: stepper motor for A1 that are running really hot).
    Ex: I have raised a issue since January and didn't have anything resolved, the hot bed issues that they have with the A1 ? - they don't really care about anymore ( doesn't matter if your home catches fire 😉).
    Not a very good impression about bamboo lab 🤔 .....
