      How are you organizing your files? I have many models all of which are composed of separate parts. On my past printers, I ran klipper/octoprint and had all the gcodes under each product's folders. Now it doesn't seem like I can do this with a P1P which I frankly pretty ridiculous.

    I agree 100%. And thank you for this video.
    I've been 3d printing for quite a few years now. And unfortunately the 3d printing community is full of people that think because they had to suffer through constant maintenance, tracking down issues and knowing every single mm of their printers that everyone else should have to do that. I can't tell you how many people ask about getting a Bambu Lab printer and people tell them to get an Ender 3 or Prusa instead so they better understand how they work. Who cares? The community doesn't need gatekeepers. I got into 3d printing early and I have spent more time fixing issues with my 3d printers than actually printing. Actually, I had given up on the hobby for 2 years because I was just over having to calibrate my printers all the time. Then Bambu Lab came along. And I now love 3d printing again. I will never go back to the Prusa style bed-slinger printers again. I suffered through years of using flaky printers and it would be incredibly arrogant of me to wish that on anyone else. And I'm tired of people complaining about Bambu Lab not being open source. That's a good thing. That's what makes these printers so good.

    You hit every single benefit I've seen since getting my p1p in Janurary. On both the business side and school side of things, it's been great in terms of print quality and reliability. Absolute workhorse. I have a farm of 11 ender 3s and they were great at first. Really allowed me expand my capacity cheaply. But the maintenance is a headache and it has definitely caused stagnation in product development. I was skeptical at first, but the past three months have shown me the p1p solves every problem I've had and I just can't see myself using my ender 3s again. The p1p has been handling everything with crazy good quality and workflow improvement.

      @nunovicente34 you're only slightly correct. First of all, you definitely will see this in schools at one point. I can't vouch for big companies bc sure some might be have ITAR restriction concerns but a vast majority of people really don't care. Not to mention you can take it off the cloud and go WLAN. At the end of the day it is marketed as just a desktop printer, not industrial grade. But it's clear from the video and others that everyday makers AND small businesses are already benefiting from it.
      From a ME student perspective, it def is the real deal. Not to say klipper on an e3 isnt either but the ability to reprint iteration after iteration in one day out the box is an crazy good benefit. Hate to sound like a Bambu fan boy, but its been great so far

    I really enjoy how nonchalant your approach to the pros and cons on these printers are. I've heard people talk about these, and how the d pad is a deal breaker, or because the filament sits on the back it's a deal breaker, but hearing you talk about it really puts into perspective how minor these inconveniences are, and how as a printer they reach towards the high end for what their price point and capabilities are.

    Have been running 6 P1Ps with my business adding 1-3 a month with my other printers collecting dust. Scaling has been way easier with the bambu ecosystem. Working on automated part removal on the P1P using a 45-degree amp stand and $10 Garolite(g10) bed, so far so good if getting temps down enough to release easily.
    Don't forget to grab the free Camera/Light for any P1P that didn't come with them originally. I think you get free shipping for them with $35+ orders so I reimbursed all of my light/cameras with a few replacement hot-ends.

    Great video! I'm just beginning month 3 of my 3D printing business and, like you, I started with one Ender 3. The design, slice, setup, print, adjust cycle were just killing me, so I got a second Ender 3. During the second month, I hit a production crunch and started looking into how to automate a farm of Ender 3's. When you start with an E3, you do a lot of searching for E3 tips, tricks and mods, so the X1C wasn't even on my radar. I asked a friend what his printer was, because he sent me a video of him printing, at speeds that made my jaw drop.
    My X1C arrives early next week and I can't wait to be able to bring some new products to market, for the growth of my fledgling business.

    Last week, I got the P1P just to see what all the hype was about. First print, I thought it was broken because it was printing so fast. The result was better quality than I could ever hope to pull out of my Creality printers, and it did it in 1/4 the time. I can't wait to see what the next leap forward brings. Thank you for this great review, from the perspective of an entrepreneur running a small print farm, which is exactly what I needed to see. I use FreeCAD to design parts for my small business. I generally don't bother switching from TPU when I design parts (almost every day!) for use around the house and tinkering on my mini truck or adventure motorcycle. I started by building an Ordbot Hadron, then had six QIDI Tech I printers but they were a maintenance nightmare and QIDI went out of their way to make parts proprietary (even to the point of soldering the headers on the opposite side of the industry standard stepper motor driver boards to reverse the pinout - grrrrrr) to force me to buy their proprietary parts, which they discontinued a year later. I'm currently using the Sovol SV01 which is much more reliable and uses generic and readily available parts, but I'm looking to upgrade as I expand the business.
    I'm a bit concerned with the proprietary parts on the Bambu, but the part prices seem reasonable and they seem well designed and reliable.
    I hate the awkward microSD card on the SV01, which takes the "rapid" out of rapid prototyping. Can I print to the Bambu over my LAN or do I need to use Bambu's cloud? Why should I upload my designs to their website? I wouldn't mind printing from a flash card if it was easier than a microSD card in a difficult location. A front panel USB thumb drive would be almost as convenient for me as WiFi printing. My prototype 3D printer is next to my computer, and I can easily maintain card images and swap all the cards on the print farm at once when I add a new product.
    Do you use Bambu filament, or generic filament?
    Do you have any issues with degradation of the build plate surface? I print TPU directly on textured glass and turnaround is fast and easy - pluck off the part, peel off the nozzle priming skirt, and use tweezers to remove the dribbled material off the nozzle. No glue stick or other build plate bonding agent. High durometer TPU with 3-4 outer layers makes a solid part that is very impact resistant and I can print thinner features that bend for live hinges, etc.
    Do I need to use the Bambu slicer? I like the Prusa slicer but I'm not married to it, and apparently the Bambu slicer or OctoSlicer derivative is similar because they are derived from Prusa Slicer that's derived from Cura slicer.

    Hi. So I came for a Cetus Mk2 printer, many people don't know this printer I know, but I bought it in 2016 and it came with WiFi printing and a custom slicer, that made the printer easy to use. This printer was bullet proof I have never even tightened a screw or replaced any other part other than the nozzle. So I have never dealt with many of the issues other 3D printer people had to deal with, I focused on CAD (Fusion 360 in my case) and just send it to the printer, I never ever wanted to tinker with a printer, I am busy starting an electronics company. I knew I needed a new printer Cetus/TierTime was not so much what I wanted. I needed a bigger newer printer but I wanted the same ease of use, and after some time of searching here comes the BambuLab. I was ready to grudgingly spend $1500 to buy the X1 carbon, then the P1P came out and I pulled the trigger. I love the experience all of it, the speed the ease of use the AMS. It ticks all the boxes and more. Love the P1P and you hit the nail on the head, you just want to print, not fiddle, when running a business you don't want that extra stress.

    I really like the hussle of 3d printing business. Buying more machines to print more to buy more machines to print even more.
    I myself bought the X1. Was initially going to buy a Mk3 but saw this and what sold me was the speed and that I didn't have to tinker with it other than learn how to print as it's my first 3D printer. No real complaints. From what I've seen on the facebook groups, Bambu keeps improving the product and sending them out rather than making a final version.

    About the ABL, I often see people confused about what it actually does because it has the word "leveling" in it. ABL doesn't level any bed nor does it adjust nozzle offset (Bambu does this separately). A better name for it would be something like Automatic Bed Topology Runtime Micro Adjustments, but that doesn't roll of the tongue very well.

    - The feature your talking about in the slicer is nothing new, you can drag or import multiple stls, arrange and slice it will produce one gcode or 3mf file. Can do it in cura or prusaslicer.
    - Bamboos slicer is literally a fork of prusaslicer. So probably 90% of it is same with some small tweaks and UI changes.

    Very informative video. I'm really considering purchasing one of these machines myself. This might have tipped the scales. Thank you!
    The reason you still need to adjust the Z-offset on a MK3s+ is that the printer uses a sensor that can vary a bit in height compared to the nozzle. The sensor (=PINDA-sensor) is mounted onto the extruderblock, next to the heatblock and nozzle. It's a "loose" item, you have to assemble onto machine, meaning it could be half a mm higher or 1/4th mm lower than another machine for example. So while it can create a perfect mesh for the bed (it knows perfectly how far the sensor is from the bed), it does not know how far the nozzle is from the bed - since the nozzle and the sensor aren't always perfectly aligned with each other. Therefore, you have to adjust the Z-offset, so the printer knows how far the nozzle is from the bed and thus from the sensor.

    • @MartinsonManufacturing
      @MartinsonManufacturing  Před rokem

      That was a very good explanation on the pinda probe. I guess to skip the z offset the probe would probably need to be fixed to the nozzle assembly from the factory then. Anywho, looks like the newer printers are switching to this new nozzle leveling method. I was glad to see that upgrade on the new MK4.

Now that this Bambu video is getting a lot of views AND you have experience with custom window panels, make a panel enclosure kit for the P1P. Enclosures are needed for ABS and other filaments. • @coiltap6491
    @coiltap6491 Před 3 měsíci

    You need a load cell in the print head to be able to determine the bed level with the nozzle. Most inexpensive or older printers don't have that. The reason you still had to adjust the Z offset on the MK3 is because the bed leveling routine is just there to determine the levelness of the bed to apply offsets to the printing gcode. It has no idea where the nozzle is in relation to the ABL probe. The MK4 has a load cell, so it no longer requires setting the Z-offset, similar to how the Bambu printers work.

    Sounds like it's been really transformative for your business which is fantastic. I was ready to go to pick up an X1C once my tax return hit and then saw their April 9th blog post.
    The posturing and aggressiveness there makes "we totally won't be patent trolls" read as "we totally are going to be patent trolls." Many enclosed type systems like this one were held up for decades because of patents, and open sourcing advances over the years is why printers now are at the level they're at. We will see how their IP team handles things and maybe it's not going to be as bad as that sounded, but they're going to have to show over time that they're not going to be sus before I'm dropping money on their products. The K1 Max looks very feature matching on paper and could be good if they can put out what they're saying they will, but after the creality cloud issues I'm hesitant to spend with them either.
    On the up side, the market has been responding to Bambu by stepping up quickly, hopefully in the not too distant future there will be a bunch with a similar feature set from companies with a good track record on open source and litigation.

    I've owned the X1C now for 2 days. I'm really amazed. Its nice that I can start a print before leaving work and while driving I can cancel the print if something is not correct. aka this morning lol. I rushed the slice and had a feeling it would fail. 15 minutes into my drive and I got an alert. Sure enough it was bad and I cancelled the print from my phone.
    For most of us, we have trust issues with 3d printers. That nervous feeling on whether its going to print or not especially leaving the printer without being able to manage it.. With this machine I'm not feeling that. I have done 6 prints so far and only one failed which was my fault. I have done small prints and large ones using 80% of the build surface.
    The fact that I could unbox, update firmware and run the sd loaded benchy in under 50 minutes with stunning results. Yea considered me sold.

I have infinite ideas of stuff to list and sell and I'm scared to list anything because it takes me months to perfect a print to where I have the confidence to list the product. When they work they are amazing but that's like 10% of the time. I'm getting REAL good at the maintenance too, and they still find ways to screw everything up somehow. I'm so glad these bambulab printers came out, but I wish I knew about them a little sooner before I had bought 2 more Ender 3's. The wheels (it was used when I got it, they were worn down), heat sensors, main board, whole hotend, fans, bent z screw idk how it even got bent lol, but that printer was used so a lot of it may have just been someone else's fault. My 2nd v2 has had its share of problems too. S1 and S1 pro it's usually just stupid problems that cost me mostly time. Dialing everything in perfect for like 3 days to get that perfect print. Then it prints great for a couple days and more stuff goes out of whack and I have to dial it back in. IMHO they are great for a hobbyist, and taught me a lot about 3d printing. Since then I got a p1p and p1s and they are much better for running a small business. I had a LOT of sales come in like $8k monthly sales out of nowhere (which is why I ordered p1s too), and I put out 400+ products since mid september. Most of these sales would take about 20 hours to print on the ender 3's. If I didn't have the p1p and p1s I would probably be contemplating suicide by now or just gave up and went out of business lol. I never did get any of it to print right on the Enders. It's a rather complex print, the bottom layer is basically nonexistent so it literally has to sit in the supports just right. Both xy and z distance from supports were key to this. It was hard enough to perfect the slicer settings on the bambu lab printers, but I never did get them to print right on ANY of the enders. Now the bambu lab printers are putting out like 12 of these things per day in sport mode.

    One thing I only saw so far in 1 video about the Bambu Lab printer speed is that while it looks good compared to that it prints so fast, but if testing the break point for finished prints, the prints from the Bambu Lab printers break more easily at the standard fast speeds it works with, than if you slow down the printing to match other 3D printers. So the concern there I guess is exactly if you actually sell your products you print, it looks great, but the structure may be weaker. I do not have a 3D printer yet, but as I look for one, I spent a lot of time looking at many videos about these Bambu Lab 3D printers, and Prusa MK4 etc.

    Great video!!!! I will likely buy one of these here in the near future. I am an OG-Geek, I love tech, and don't mind digging into something to make it work. With that, to support my scale RC hobby I wanted printers that just worked, I did not want 3D printing as a hobby unto itself. I bought my CR-10 a few years back, and it hasn't been terrible, but I have had to geek with it a bit more than I want to. My Prusa Mini has been pretty good, but I have still had to fiddle with it. Like you, I don't understand why I have to set the Z-axis when the bed probe is getting the level of the bed. I have been asked to sell some of the parts I design, but I have not had confidence in my print reliability/quality to pull the trigger on that, The Banbu printer might change that.
