  • A lot of people have openly shared their thoughts and opinions on the negative influence of rap, but tend to just critique the female rappers. Rap has a lot of negative connotations for decades, but society decides to just come for women. In today's video, we will be discussing the negative influence of male rappers.

I agree. I think the reason the female rappers get hated on so much because they’re the “heauxs” they’ve talked about for years with a voice and they don’t like that. They were only supposed to be hip hop honeys, voiceless, eye candy props.

Rappers in America is literally getting paid to rap about toxicity. Y’all country are lacking military enlistment, the LGBTQ and extreme feminists are diluting and altering the very fabric of genetics in man and woman at its core, men with mics on podcasts are extremely sassy and high key hate women, women lack serious self respect, decorum and femininity is almost none existent, America has one of the highest rates of domestic terrorism… mass shootings are a sport now. It’s ironic when men complain about the culture of female rap. Biggie and Kim for example, he made Kim’s image as sexy and raunchy as it was. Wayne and Nicki, Nicki said she felt pressured to look like the women Wayne hung around, hence why she got plastic surgery. At the beginning of rap, women were already put into a box because of the way men viewed them. Sex sells.
It’s alright when men rap about women’s bodies, sex, money, and having a beautiful woman as a sign of status. But when women rap about their own bodies, being free sexually, and wanting a man with money or status, that’s wrong.

@@tornadosirenwednesday Right, but by the mid-90's it became corny to be a positive rapper. Will Smith, later on in his career, got a pass (to some extent) because he was a movie star and largely was considered more pop, but hip hop was shitting on him largely. Even Will later made an angrier album, which didn't do as well, to try and counter the super clean cut image, because of the backlash he was getting from hip hop. De La had to get a bit more aggressive later on, ATCQ felt they needed to bring Consequence on board to make them more street. Luckily they learned their lesson and made TLM. It's really like you have to be an exceptional emcee to have maintained success as a positive rapper by the mid and late 90's whereas the goons could be mediocre af.

There is actually some beef going on with rick ross and jim jones against another rapper named dee 1. Dee 1 called rappers like RR and JJ for the trash they promote in their music being in their 40’s like they are still in their 20’s. They had nerve to get mad at what dee 1 was saying and telling them they need to do better and stop promoting trash in their music. They both claim to do so music for the blk community, but don’t bother to promote things that would help the blk community to thrive and turn away from all the degeneracy. These are 40+yo men coming for a rapper in his 30’s for telling the honest truth about how terrible their music is and how much they need to change and do better. And they had nerve to talk down to him addressing him in a way like a grown man addresses his 5yo nephew. And he also called out meek mill for being a hypocrite for promoting behaviors and crimes that puts many in prison, but will turn around talking about fighting for prison reform for blk men. Smh. The whole situation with hip hop/rap is just going down the tubes at this point.

It's odd to say the least but I ended up not liking rap culture because of this move I think because coming from a bad neighborhood I had too listen too alot of white people who live in the mountains quote and basically worship a life style they know nothing about and at the same time treat me like garbage for being black or deny my blackness for not portraying myself as ghetto and I kind of blame rap culture for this awful experience

That was the purpose of rap music when it was taken over by the corporations. Purpose was to promote racist stereotypes of black people and to brainwash young black boys to think it's cool to be a thug and a criminal. Growing the private prison industrial complex. There was a whistle blower from the music industry that came out and said this. Then you have the CIA admitting to bringing cocaine into The US from Latin America and then increasing Crack distribution jail sentances then giving women money for out of wedlock births. So many problems in the black community are orchestrated from the top and do not come from black people.

the thing is you misunderstand hip hop, its obvious why the white people had to control it during the Wu-tang phase, remember, how they had black people ride with the Wu Tang I think was when they incorporate racism in it, but pretended to downplay their music right, and black people were like let them tell the story, so how did get like this Italian culture, Mafia and Gangster was introduced into it like Crack and Valla. Male rappers aren't all bad, cause the bad is what media promotes to do what. ding ding ding, fuk over Black men, you see the real people at danger is Black men, cause they do so much to set us up and almost every time the idiots keep falling for the Ookie doke. Nas - has good music, sure everyone has they're flaw but the song Poison, Patience, that shit phenomenal, Mob deep had a message later on too, hence why I believed he was killed cause no way dude choked on an egg like come on, you see any body in the industry understands foolishness is what mainstream loves thus they replicate it, but often they alternate, Jay z one such example not all his music is bad.

Every time someone speaks out on it we are shamed and mocked for being " too serious " when our imagery is that serious. We have 5/yo rappers like LIL RT rapping about guns, hoes, and running from the cops. It's unfair to have a one sided conversation about women saying " this all y'all rap about??" when men are doing the exact same thing. One thing I feel compelled on my heart to point out, is that many of these rappers who promote drug usage in their music, do not face life-altering consequences like loss of work or loss of home due to their addiction. They are addicts, and yet still live a luxurious lifestyle. They have the money to go to rehab if they choose to get sober. However, ordinary folk who become addicts due to experimenting with these drugs...SO many lose their jobs. So many become homeless. So many can't afford rehab. So many, their lives spiral out of control. Even when they get sober, they can't find employment again (esp if they're a felon), they can't rent, their credit is messed up. These rappers promote the usage of these drugs to ordinary folk, but they will not feel many of the repercussions that normal addicts face as a result of their addiction. That feels so scummy and makes me honestly want to cry.
Also, yes, I know there are some artists who did go broke due to their addictions; this is a generalization.

Literally the entirety of Peaches and Eggplants by Young Nudy is dirty talk but when Sexyy Red hopped on the remix with her dirty talk. People did the absolute most and called it trash. The thing is tho, they BOTH still promote degeneracy, and their music is used to demoralize the youth. Male rappers should get criticism and backlash for it JUST AS MUCH as female rappers do. If not then even more so, since they’re the ones who started it.
What should definitely not happen is that everybody just starts to be blindly accepting of this kind of music from any gender.

Toni I watch all your uploads but I’ve gotta say this one in particular is SOOO well done, such a necessary topic to shed light on. There’s an opiate epidemic, drugs & crime go together to begin with & to think younger people or even older one’s listening to & LEARNING from music doesn’t happen would be ridiculous. All it takes is once to use a drug too much. Ya never know which or when could ruin your life. Start to finish this was one of, if not THE best YT vids I’ve seen in a loooong time. 💜💜💜

For me, the only bad part about rap is OTHERS’ warped perceptions of it. It is a lot like being a horror movie fan, IMHO. If I binge watch scary movies, does that make me a serial killer? Is the director/producer of the film a serial killer?

It’s wild how many men out here putting down female rappers for their music, but don’t bother to call out male rappers for promoting all this degeneracy as well. And male rappers are the ones that started promoting all the degeneracy being promoted in female rap within their own videos by putting video vixens bouncing their cheeks and cooter left and right all over place and all up in the camera. And it’s the businessmen that owns these record labels that are promoting everything in rap/hip hop. And all of these rappers constantly fall for it just to make a buck. And the worst part is that many of them that decides they want to expose the industry say that most of that money they are making goes to the labels and the owners of that label. Basically controlling everything they do. YK Osiris is one of the ones right now going through a situation he put himself in for money in the industry and now have to find a way out on his own.

As an avid rap fan, I think it holds more sentimental value to me. Growing up with it and coping with it to mask the issues and problems society threw on me as I grew up, I’d be lying if I said rap didn’t motivate me as a whole. That being said, there’s a difference between being motivated, and being influenced. Motivation helps push you in your endeavors you already have going on. Being influenced is trying to replicate or mimic the lifestyle that these people are putting up for you to see and hear.

I agree... I also feel like the labels signing these acts and the narratives they come with further create division and detriment to our community as a whole... Like its designed to keep us at a certain level...and the masses only pay attention to the quote on quote "destructive" music so its really hard for "REAL" talent with POSITIVE MESSAGES to really be seen when all that's being pushed is music with nothing but gang, violence, drugs, etc....

Great video as always Toni! And I completely agree that people have been giving women in the rap game so much flack but refuse to even acknowledge just how harmful male rappers have been to the community. Women have been calling out other women in the rap game, but men are deafeningly silent when it comes to male rappers and how their negative influence has affected black people . Instead they are out here promoting and making reaction videos to music with some of the most heinous lyrics I’ve ever heard. The community is so lost😭

My experience growing up in the white poor areas: kids learned from the black kids and imitated them. It was not their parents culture, it was not the majority of culture around us, yet it still influenced them greatly. I have hundreds of videos and pictures of white kids saying the n word, and imitating black kids to the fullest extent. Kids who have college funds and two story houses are finding guns and hurting each other and hurting themselves for just an image. So many kids that are being given so many opportunities to be something and they just throw it away for the chance to be perceived as one of these rappers. Their influence is reaching so many places it was never meant to be. They will do anything to be black on the inside, for literally no reason. I grew up around so many kids with big family money lying and saying they are from California hoods and claiming to be ex gang bangers, at 10 years old. Let me repeat, white upper middle class 10 year old children are claiming to have the same background as Tupac. Their image is so strong and so influential and no one is even trying to stop it.

    • @rucianapollard7098
      @rucianapollard7098 Před 5 měsíci +2

Okay, Tupac did not grow up dirt poor. His background was lower middle class. Tupac actually attended a school for the fine arts. He was never a gang member nor did he claim to be. He would say "West Side" but that meant west coast, California.
Actually, I'm surprised that your rich white buddies weren't dressing up as "Grand Imperial Wizard" David Dukes or other hooded terrorists.
