- We constantly are on social media and see women that seem to be "perfect" when in fact they don't look like that in person at all. In this video we will be taking a look at influencers and celebrities in real life vs. Instagram.
We'll also take a look at the Differences between Reality and Filters in social media, and discuss the dangers of relying too much on social media to shape our reality. By the end of this video, we hope you'll have a better understanding of how social media affects our lives and the dangers of emulating celebrities and influencers without properly evaluating the risks.

France recently proposed a law that influencers have to disclose when they've edited their pics. the logistics confuse me, but it's an interesting concept. it should definitely be done for professional ads and magazines.

Hey ! The law already exists in France since 2017:) but recently a new law has been passed about commercial ad content in influencer's posts. They now have to declare it very clearly otherwise they risk 2 years of prison or a penalty of 300 000€ (i'm french so sorry if I did not explain everything well, english isn't my first language)

I’ve never watched a single episode. I just see the occasional snippet when a video of a certain subject like plastic surgery or whatever, and there is a snippet of something from their show etc. that’s more than enough. I do not get the fascination with the vapid conversations they have. None of them are socially generous and Kim is the only one that at least pretends to be kind to fans. Kylie and Kendal are rude and actually see their fans with contempt and disdain and don’t even try to smile as they pass through the fans. Especially in Kylie’s case, these fans made her mega rich, and she has nothing but contempt for them.
Girl, you had me pausing and gasping lol This video would be perfect for high school girls as a learning aid; to hopefully improve overall self-esteem. I can't even imagine the amount of pressure they go through!

Honestly I’m so glad social media is limited to me at my age (bc of my parents) I’m already insecure with comparison but I can see me being 10 times insecure and even more of a horrid relationship with myself
I think it is so good that some parents are limiting the use of social media. I was in 6th grade when Facebook really started catching on and before that we had MySpace. I grew up with social media and now the only thing I use is CZcams. I deleted every other form of social media and it is so freeing and I am much happier with myself since I don’t have that constant comparison around on all my apps.

I’m 35 and limited myself because even later in life it’s very difficult to deal with , I’ve never used a filter and I think that’s a precious thing , I need to love the way I truly look , and I do but It became beyond exhausting to want to post a pic . Want to say I’m proud of you for this perspective you have , I know it may feel like you’re missing out at times, but trust me years down the line you’ll be very happy that you did this and you will be a far more interesting and well-rounded person because of it. Anyone that does THAT much surgery, only to photoshop their surgery laced body/face, drips of heavy insecurity and no self love. It’s actually sad.

The interesting thing about Khloe's pre surgery photo is that if you look at her child pictures, it looks like she got a nose job sometime around 13 to 14 years old because her nose at the beginning of Keeping up with the Kardashians isn't the same as her childhood nose that looked more like her brother's

Girl, I’m 41 and get caught up. I know that God led me here for a reason. I’m so hard on myself. For the past week I’ve been watching videos like this
filler specifically botox was originally created FOR older people that’s why it’s known as “anti-aging” because it was meant for like 50+ year olds, not a fresh 20 something year old face. it’s so sad, even i am guilty of researching lip flips and mini nose jobs and im not even 21 yet and have been “on a diet” since literally this is not an exaggeration as long as i can REMEMBER. you are definitely doing gods work with videos like this because i vividly remember being in 2nd grade and asking my mom if i was fat, it happens younger and younger every year.
also i really don’t feel bad for the instagram girls and influencers who edit like this and then try to pass it off as natural. none the kardashians have everrrr admitted to any surgeries except for kylie’s lips. when it is clear as day they are 90% plastic even kendall. there isn’t anything inherently wrong with getting work done but to have the audacity to pretend you’re all natural?! i don’t feel bad because they have no issue profiting off of the unrealistic and unattainable beauty standards they helped popularize! i get that if you’re an influencer you need to have amazing looking pictures but don’t sit there and lie to millions of people especially young girls and act like you just look like that. it’s disgusting honestly.
Absolutely I think outside of very very tiny uses in specific areas it essentially makes everyone look about 45 and kind of ageless which is great if your 60 but not so good if your 20 it just makes ppl look older imo.

I'm no fan of these celebrities. But Botox is NOT a filler. It doesn't create any volume. Botox is a brand for a neurotoxin that paralyzes the muscle so as to prevent and treat wrinkles. FILLER, is of various products that ADD volume and plump the skin, like various types of hyaluronic acid which absorb water. U can't conflate the two when they don't at all work the same, do the same, or have the same results. The worst case of Botox is having a frozen face lol😅 not a swollen face

It’s not just filler. Let’s also remember that weight gain plays a part, and many people’s faces get rounder when they put on weight. If you’re having lipo in your stomach, arms and back, your face can still look round. + filler + aging, I’m interested to see how she’ll look when she hits her 30’s.

I’m 42 and Kylie unfiltered looks closer to my age. I’ll be honest, I grew up in an era where lipstick, eyeliner, lipliner(brown tone) and mascara was all we would wear on our faces. Guess what, most Gen Z women now look pretty damn good for our ages without fillers or filtered pictures. Just saying 🤷🏻♀️

Makes me sad cuz companies really try to capitalize off of making people insecure of the littlest things that aren't problems to sell you stuff. I would love to see more hip dips and cellulite and stretchmarks and bellies and under eyes and face lines and texture in beauty and fashion campains, and for people to look confident and happy in them.
Here, I’ll say it. Kylie looks hard in real life. She’s still attractive but for her to be in her early twenties, her face looks hard. When you have had this much work done constantly, your facial muscles are constantly going through trauma. This should be a warning of what not to do. Again Kylie and the other ladies are pretty but they are causing harm in the long run. This stuff never ends well once someone hits 45 and up.

Such a great reminder. I don’t follow any influencer or celebrities on Instagram because I know that would just mess with my head. If I want to catch up on a celebrity I search them, but at least my feed isn’t bombarded by such images that may cause me to feel bad about myself.

Funny enough I have a very puffy/ chubby face naturally and a really rectangular body shape, but I started working out in the gym and building hips. I kinda understand the insecurities that they feel but I feel like the Beauty standards today are kinda weird everyone wants a squidward jaw face and the super weird body proportions. When they get these plastic surgeries I feel like they almost make themselves look worse than before. I even gave up using snap chats cause of all the weird filters that made me feel bad about myself lol.

I think I agree with you there about people looking aged with enhancements such as filler. So many of the girls I went to school with (same age and younger) who have had fillers and such all look about 30 now (given we aren't even mid 20s or some just). Even some as young as 23 are looking in their early 30s due to all the work they've had done. It's really sad to see. I'm personally against cosmetic enhancements (other than makeup) so I only focus on skincare and the difference between how I look in comparison to when I was a teen and how they look is extortionate.
The only filler I’d get is under my eyes and possibly my under chin to get rid of the double look. When I gained so weight my face especially under my chin got saggy and I hate it

J.Lo had had tons of work done but her genetics play a role in how she looks and she obviously has avoided excess use of fillers to compensate for volume loss which give away an overdone face. Maintaining your face to look the same like it was 20 years ago is extremely hard and requires hefty of cosmetic procedures to get there. It's a combo of smart careful procedures/genetics/nutrition etc.
As for the last girl which was a surprise to see in this video, i'm from Greece and she was a contestant on GNTM (the Greek version of ANTM) and the judges tore her to shreds during her audition for the work she's had and basically humiliating her for trying to look like another Kim K. Poor girl burst into tears and she didn't qualify for that reason, it was so embarrassing and dehumanising to watch.
The Karjenners all looking like they are cousins to the Catlady… & I personally don’t think Kylie looks amazing, as soon as they move you can see the plastic.

I am 45 y.o. and fillers are most appropriate for those of us who have lost elasticity due to loss of collagen. They help replace what mother nature and father time have taken. Young women naturally have fuller faces so injecting fillers which attracts water makes their face swell.

This proves to show that no matter how many surgeries you get and no matter how good the surgeon is there is no way that it will cure your insecurities because everyone is insecure and that is what I feel like the Kardashians are relatable about but they just don’t show it. That is actually really sad to see this because they are really beautiful without the photo shops and it’s surprising that they get so many surgeries but still have to Photoshop their faces it is really sad. I hope one day they can realise that they are beautiful surgery or no surgery.
I feel so bad for Khloe honestly. Objectively, she’s a stunning woman, without a doubt. I feel like she feels compelled to fit that “kardashian standard” that Kim and Kylie have established. All of her Facetune edits make her look more like Kim than herself and she’s erased all of her unique features. It’s sad that people as gorgeous and well-off as she is, still have crippling insecurities that make them feel inadequate. I get it though. You can get all the plastic surgery and use all the filters in the world and still hate how you look and that’s what makes me sad. Social media is so cool for so many reasons, and sucks for so many more.

wow it’s insane how different they look! I no longer feel ugly or fat. I’m the worse with wishing I had they curvy big booty booty but I’m either skinny or a little chub. Right now I’ve gained a little weight and I’ll be 33 in October feeling like I look old and fat. I don’t anymore I’m just normal.

Always grateful for these videos ♡ for the first time i noticed how they remove that fold/ bit of fat that people have near the armpit. never thought about the fact that this can be done… it‘s such a small thing, slim the arms down, digitally remove that little fold and boom, all the girls with normal arms will become so self conscious if their arms look different…
