No matter how many scandals and “falls” this family has, they always find a way to endlessly corrupt the public eye
I agree. This used to actually make me frustrated bc I felt like I couldn't escape them😂 But honestly, if I choose not to support them through purchasing or giving them any of my time, energy, or attention...that's a win for me. If I ever get curious, I just watch Luke Alexander's review videos of their lifeless reality show, with the addition of his hilarious and true commentary.

I just point out that Paris did not come out with a sex tape, her sex tape was leaked by the person she trusted. Kim & Kris saw how it became "viral" and orchestrated the release of her own. It's not the same but she did get similar results, popularity wise.
Yes! I know Paris' trust was violated and she did not give permission for that to leak. I was speaking in terms of Kim seeing the "benefits" or should I say extended popularity and attention Paris got from it whether good or bad.

He designed the logo for skims and Kim just sits back and collects the money. SHE IS NOT A BILLIONAIRE..it’s all hype just like how she buys her Instagram followers. If her mother takes 10% off each daughter than with her having two “billionaire” daughters.. she just is she worth $150 mill..why is Emma grede the woman behind skims,good American and safely cleaning products worth $350 mill ?

I don't even think their downfall is due to being unrelatable. I think they're just so out of touch on what's going on in the world and the economy. Everyone is struggling to make ends meet, pay their rent, buy food and the Kardashians are out here flaunting their wealth. I don't care how strong your mental health is but no body is going to purposely hurt themselves like that...
It's all in the self awareness; the original show started in 2007, a year before the economy crashed and they still went on to have a million seasons and ten spin-offs. I think the difference is that they were messier, more open about the fact that they were out of touch (at times hamming it up). It was all about how ridiculous *everything* about their lives was ("Can you stop taking pictures of yourself, your sister is going to prison!") - not just because of their wealth, but because of their personalities but the people that they knew.

I watched Kourtneys wedding special & it made me feel sick with how much money they have to spend. They were airlifting things into a castle with helicopters in a tiny Italian town & had mega yachts just waiting in the sea for whenever they need it… & a million staff for every tiny job! just seemed soooo distasteful to show that to the public & expect us to be in awe and not disgusted

The reason Kylie kept changing her son's name is because when Stormi was announced as her daughter's name, these companies trademarked and copyrighted things that had stormis name in them for example like "Stormi baby" or something like that so that she couldn't use Stormi's name on any products in the future. These companies would then sell the trademarks to Kylie for millions. The name wolf for her son was a decoy name, I believe, to avoid this happening again so she could get his real name trademarked before anyone knew about the name again and once she had them secure she announced his real name.

I think that the Kardashian/Jenner clan has gotten to the point where they believe that their simple existence is interesting enough to be the content we’re looking for. Which is why we see somewhat staged storylines, constant branding, and lackluster series episodes. We want to see them doing things, not just seeing them.

Considering how explosive Kim and Kanye’s divorce was…we really didn’t get much on the show. I wanna talk about how Kim said Kourtney was the least interesting to look at BUT this is the second time Kourtneys relationships has been carrying the show and Kim used kourtneys wedding as a D&G campaign. I feel like Kourtney is the only sister that kind of Carrie’s the show. Kendall and Kylie act like they don’t wanna be seen on it, khloe is kinda always vague and weird about everything and Kim talks about what she wants to talk about. 😂 i guess she’s going to talk about Kanye this season but she could’ve did that all the years they were married but wanted to be “private” meanwhile we know all Kourtney and Scott business.

I'm from Colombia and I remember so well, one time I went to miami and saw the keeping up with the kardashians show on E!. They weren't famous, but was funny to see, I remembered thinking, so much fun to see all this sisters enjoying their family. But their show was only aired at US. I came back and nobody over here knew about them. Maybe a year later that show became global.

I feel like there's not much they can do at this point to come back unless they do a complete 180. People today like real, honest, and relatable. Every time they try to be relatable now it's blocked by their popularity and wealth. The clips I've seen from their Hulu series demonstrate that with Khloe trying to talk about how hard it is for her to be in public and Kendall talking about her anxiety and Kim trying to convince everyone she works so hard. It's tired and exhausting to listen to. I'm sure they have these struggles but today people don't really care to hear people like them complain about how hard their life is, it is severely out of touch with what the average person is experiencing and even farther removed from the younger generations; the Kardashians have every resource available to them and then some. Not to mention again all the scandals and rumors they've never addressed. Guaranteed they'd gain more popularity I think if they decided to be honest for once in their career to connect with fans instead of putting up these fake "look at me" personnas. The more they try to seem relatable the less authentic it seems as it feels ironically, inauthentic and just a money & relevance grab.

Okay okay the only thing I say with their new show is that one episode Kim said that people were more curious about the behind the scenes of their work life and what they actually do day by day. So I ~think~ that was their way of giving the audience what they wanted instead of the fake story lines of drama and hijinks like they did with keeping up. KUWTK was all story lines but I remember during the pandemic people were just like “we can tell this is fake these are fake arguments with each other” so I believe the new show was to switch the perspective to their work life but they have to find a new balance.

also, on your opening, I learned in my gender studies class that "gossip" being an inherently bad thing is a misogynistic take. aside from the fact that what you do wouldn't even fall under gossip and more pop culture commentary, men "talk shop" while women "gossip". women's wellbeing in life is based more on people skills and social reputation, so women are more likely to talk about other people in both good and bad ways. it can be used to break down or uplift others as well as ourselves. actually, women are more likely to gossip in good ways, saying so-and-so is soo great while they're not in the room. this uplifts both the other woman because now others think better of her while also uplifting the speaker because she's such a nice person for saying nice things about so-and-so while they're not around, and they're both more likely to get more opportunities.
