    So Matty?
Did they send you the wrong inlet manifold spacer or was there something wrong with the spacer itself?
Did you get another inlet manifold spacer?
    What brand was it?
And have you stuck your car on the dyno since you added the plenum spacer to see what the results are?
Would like to know how it performs on the dyno and the benifits.

Are you saying the VX series 2 is a NO go and have you advised the manufacturer of the product that they are providing a faulty product. What did the manufacturer say when you sent it back for a refund or did you send it back and ask for the correct product.

did you notice much difference with the plenum spacer and manifold spacer?

you got the wrong insulator from the sound of things

ran into the exact same problem when changing plenum from a vt to vx.

So is it a manufacturing error with the plenum spacers, or just the one that you got?

Mace makes a different insulator for the VX-VY cause they have a different manifold and if you going for power do t expect any more than 220rwkw after $20000

headers/extractors + high flow cat + 2.5 inch mandrel bent exhaust would make more difference

V6 Ecotec uses mass air flow sensor to determine how much fuel is squirted in.
This spacer can not make any difference. Even on the older VN-VP that used
a manifold air pressure sensor, I remain ultra-sceptical that any improvement
results. Unless somebody can show me a computation fluid dynamics modelling
to expose the white man's magic.

Check out the mace website, they have diagrams of the air flow. The insulator with the space makes a big difference

Unless you get your car tuned via a performance memcal these guys waste their time

This is very cool as old school way of forcing more air into an area that can't expand. Reminds me what they did back in the day with Holly carbs and there intakes.

I had one, made no difference.
High ratio rockers, high flow intake, and full exhaust did the trick though.

Never ceases to amaze me how many people think v8 r so much better than v6 its a laugh haha
6psi boost n the 6 has the HP of the 8 n due to higher revs and identical boxes the v6 munches em Lol
Q)Add 18psi extractors 3"high flow exhaust stroke cam valves rods a port n Polish high pressure fuel shift kit n a 9" lsd to an ecotec n what do u have?
    A) a 5 liter eater

You also have a car that sounds like it gets packed by blokes for fun and profit.

It never ceases to amaze me how so many people get sucked in to buy all these Ecotec performance products. You can spend thousands on all theses suggested products. Plenum spacer, extractors, larger throttle body, hi ratio rockers, all the MACE products and countless other supposedly high performance stuff, and at the end of the day you gain limited rear wheel kilowatts. Just buy a V8.

well yes and no , it will make a difference , to an extent , but obviously having 2 less cylinders makes a difference as well , the V6 from Holden does have potential, supercharging makes a difference , as does a mild cam , and chip tuning but against a V8 , of course it won't be as good , but a V8 next to a V10 or a V12 is useless as well .

    • @myjizzureye
      @myjizzureye Před 7 lety +1

Not really because the more moving parts the bigger the drag turning the crank.

Brad Doig why a V8 just do another engine conversion wow another fuckwit muppet that lover V8 lump rubbish also most cars now are turbo and with less cylinders too and make great power ,V8 are rubbish why do you need to change heads rockers/shafts ,push rods ,Cam ,stormer crankshafts list goes on ,because with a 4 or 6 cylinder engine don’t need most of those parts installed to make power or make it more efficient, your living in the past I haven’t touched a carby or rockers / in more then 10 years ,I’m 30 now still young always learning new things as a technician/ mechanic started when I was 15
