I still have mine from my V6 '95 VS manual from RACEBITS. Had it configured to premium fuel and air intake+headers/exhaust. Man it hauled arse! 1st gear went to 75km/h, 2nd 130km/h - was a burnout machine once the chip went in but the engine reaaaaally started to feel second hand about 18months later haha, well worth it though :)
Best thing you can do to a v6 is police mode beyond that nothing electronic will help it go harder Holden already pushed the 3.8 to its limits in n/a just to keep the 3.8 family going a bit longer
Before doing this disconnect battery and take out relay for engine once all done start you're car and hold at 2 thousand rpm for 30 seconds to reset the computer crap

so what is this chip in control of? I have a VS commodore I know yours is UTE VS I'm assuming they are in the sedan also?
I always thought you had to disconnect the battery when you're doing stuff like that.

If the rear window was broken it's a good indication that the car has been broken into by the previous owner or a thief.
The timing is mechanically adjusted inside the timing case.

You should have dis-connected your battery first , so the new computer chip can learn the new programme in the chip
