- Jon installs K&N Typhoon intake on Bo's Corolla Hatch 2.0L.
Well made from K&N, and comes with great detailed instructions for the most part. Straightforward with photos. Overall very happy with the kit, and LOVING the sounds!
PROS:
+ Great Sound! (Especially between 4k-6k RPM)
+ Improved Throttle Response
+ Great design/Retains OEM Snorkel Tube
+ Clear and Detailed Install Instructions
+ Reusable AIR FILTER
+ Includes ALL Hardware needed
CONS:
-Nothing at the moment. Very happy with the product/fair price
*IMPORTANT INSTALLATION NOTE to STEP 8!
MAKE SURE OEM SNORKEL tube is FACING UP, like in the KN diagram.
(We installed this piece FACING Down. That was incorrect. Car still drove fine w/ no CEL).
That OEM snorkel pipe connects to the Radiator Air Box housing from underneath (There is a connector piece) to continue to force incoming air to the intake. I didn't notice this until later on, but I did fix it after a couple days! - Auta a dopravní prostředky

I have the same intake on my 2022. It was easy to install and gas been working great. Sounds awesome. I'm very happy with it. Add at least a catback and it really makes the car come alive. Even with wider tires and the K&N, I can still get the fuel economy the car is rated for or better (driving normally). K&N claims their intake does not void the warranty but you definitely have to assume the warranty is void. A car manufacturer will do everything they can to get out of paying for warranty work, even on an unmodified car. Do your research, get the right tools, do the work right and have fun. If you are really worried about re-oiling the filter when it is time, you can simply buy a new one from K&N. They aren't that expensive and eliminate the risks associated with over or under oiling the filter element.
Just an R34 chilling there
😁😁
why does it say to remove the coolant tube in step 2 of the video (step3 iirc on the plan)
Have me sold brotha.
I installed it and my check engine lights are on ..... my lane departure forward collision sensor cruice control are off .... i installed the factory box then its good.... i found on higher rpm the check engine light turns on ..... it can be only turn off by removing the battery terminal and reconnect it.... is there any possibility to stop check engine light?? Please help me
I would double check the MAF sensor. That needs to be mounted tight and flush when installing. Also make sure the front radar is connected (if have you one)
@@FujiboHeavy yes i had done so .... i don't know why it happens while using factory air intake everything is fine when changed to cold air intake check engine lights turn on on higher rpm and wont turn off
@@mathewgeorge8983 what year/model is your Rolla? You may have to contact KN directly or customer support from wherever you purchased the intake. My 2020 SE had no issues with CEL
@@FujiboHeavy mine is 2019 corola se
Did it cause any sensors to come on such as check engine or any others?
I had no lights at all. We just followed the Instructions provided by KN, and triple checked everything was tight and secure
hey man, does this cause the check engine to light up?
Countleopone Vonflikinstein nope. Been driving for about 600 miles so far. No CEL. Just make sure to install the MAF securely and not damage it during the removal and reinstallation
It happens to me too check engine... how u fixed it
do you know if this is going to fit in the 1,2 l trubo?
I would recommend reaching out to K/N directly to confirm this😅
Looking good man , but what about your powertrain warranty?
Not sure if it effects it lol. But definitely not worried about it :)
If anything ever happens just swap out the intake for the stock one and THEN get warranty work lmao
3:32 Jon was not amused 😅
dark goat racer 🤣🤣
Do you still have the Legacy??
Kingdom Twelve yessir! :)
@@FujiboHeavy Hell yea, my friend has one of these and they look absolutely sick!
Kingdom Twelve they got a new Rolla Hatch??
@@FujiboHeavy Yup! She asked me to debadge it soon 😈 Its a darker silver, has an aero package and all. Looks so sharp!
Kingdom Twelve that’s awesome! Yea these cars definitely are not fast, but they sure can look nice with mild drop and 18’s!
do this work on a 2020 corolla hatchback?
This was installed on a US spec, 2020 Hatchback with 2.0 liter. But yea as long as you have the 2.0L engine. I would confirm with KN before purchasing to be sure
@@FujiboHeavy got you and yeah mine is a 2020 hatchback 2.0 liter, i try to chat with them but not working where is the faster way to get contact with them
Are you by any chance in VA? Cuz we have Koons here
I did purchase mine from Koons Tyson Toyota :)
Fujibo Heavy that’s what up lol
I got mine from Ourisman Fairfax and I’m in Fairfax!
@@SamuelSandoval1 Nice man! I actually bought my very first car at BMW of Fairfax (Current Subaru Legacy GT :)

Any boost is performance?
Slightly better throttle response, but as far as numbers go nothing to really show. Average Fuel economy did drop by 2-3mpg. Nothing major. The main highlight to get this is for induction noise and just better presentation under the hood
Does this void any warranties?
I’m not 100% sure. I would check with your local Toyota dealer to confirm this
Yeah will do. Thanks man. I just put down a deposit on a 2022 ZR. I live in Australia and we get 7 years of warranty and I get 9 years warranty on the engine and gearbox. Just want to make sure that I'm not voiding that warranty by putting a whoosh boi on my car haha
@@seththeminion1803 I hear ya man! Yea it varies from dealer to dealer, some dealers have no issues but others are not as lenient 😅 also congrats! I know you’re excited!!!
That cheeky 9:20 moment....
I love seeing dry filters lmaoooo! oil that filter, damn!
