I saw the interview with the designer of this and he said the side solar panels will take a full impact without problems, the motors he kept quiet about but said they’re the next step forward in electric propulsion.
He did let slip they’re designing sails with solar panels as the next step forward.
Gorgeous yacht and I’m a lover of catamarans ❤ great tour Nick… 👍🏻
I believe sails with solar panels are already available, there is a company in Ipswich, UK that makes them 👍🏻
@TextMe+ replies are all SCAMS folks so don’t get fooled!
What happens when the panels need replacing? It looks like at that point the yacht gets converted to ICE or scrapped.
@@MasterChief37 do I detect some cynicism re electric motors and the use of renewables, surely not?
Now, I'm no expert, but I'd be thinking that when the panels need replacing, in ~5 to 10 years I'm guessing, they .... now wait for it - because this might just blow your gas guzzling mind,..... they ..... replace them... Wow !! Amazing hey ?
Yep, they literally remove the thin solar panels and put on new ones, which are likely to be better than the previous, because of the increasing rate of technology advancement in this area. What will they think of next ???
@@aussiesurfer805 I own a BEV I’m no luddite, to me it looks like the solar cells are glassed into the hull, removing them would be a very time consuming and expensive task. I don’t think it’s a practical long term solution.
I was never crazy about sail boats. But these new catamarans are epic. I would own one of those in a heart beat. And solar power like this is the icing on the cake. It's so beautiful. Thank you Nick.
The sail on the catamaran actually adds stability (which you can only achieve through gyroscopic stabilizers otherwise), so this is actually better than a regular boat. It was really apparent in a recent review of the electric (no sail) catamaran that La Vagabonde made recently. That boat is quite unstable.
@@Rodrifuuu awesome. Thank you.
why? they're awesome
Another beautiful yacht, so wide with acres of space, nice colours and finishes. Lovely tour Nick thank you.
I do hope the treadmills can be used to charge the batteries 🤠
😂
I think I prefer this version instead of the power! Maybe it’s the colour scheme the owner has chosen or maybe because it’s because of the huge mast, it does bring my inner child out wanting to jump off it! Lovely crew on these boats as well. Brilliant tour thanks Nick.
Space galore, endless range, great stylings and plenty of comfort. Brilliant!
Thanks for showing us around Nick.
My pleasure!
You know we’ve come a long way when we have ditched the melodeon for a piano in order to sing our sea shanties! 😆😆
Lovely catamaran. I do think using solar panels as a skin will become more and more prevalent as time goes on.
Those yellow/green chairs next to the treadmills look super comfy!
This catamaran is the most invasive one I have ever seen plus thanks so much so much nick wonderful job
Aquaholic continues as a trendsetter! The crew member in the bed was a CZcams first for any Yacht tour!
Stunning! It would be nice to hear more about their secrets. We can hope for another tour on a later date.
the 80's are probably my favorite catamarans and with so much solar and sail... how could it get any better!
Fantastic yacht that may have moved to the top of my list if I ever win the Lottery. Excellent accommodations and the solar power along with the wind power is a fantastic combination. I still like the Silent 60 but this one has my attention--I just need the money now🙂. Thanks for another great tour Nick!
I believe with the silent yachts you can use a kite sail as well as the solar panels. Great to see a lot of innovation and some competition for them to earn my imaginary lottery winnings from me.
Hey Nick another totally epic yacht/catamaran and if this is a glimpse of the future then the future looks great 👍 epic yacht and epic tour have a great day bud
This boat leaves me very excited for the future of boating. Stunning
Very nice, living spaces are well appointed and roomy. lots of solar power if it can support 240 Kw worth of motor power @ 8 knots all day long,
Thanks for the tour Nick
If it was 4 knots 'indefinitely in the sunshine' I might be persuaded but the claim of 8 knots (unsubstantiated) just makes a nonsense of the green-credentials. Also, what about lightweight eco-friendly materials, life-expectancy, recycling etc...?
It's is a fairy tale if they claim the boat can go with 240kw engines all day long. The panels generate nowhere near 240kwh. At max and under perfect condition they might produce 30-40kwh. 164sqm panel size with an perfect condition 20% efficiency will produce never more then 30-40kwh. The boat is a sailing boat, the solar panels are more for the electric consumer on board like aircon, water pump, electronic devices.
@@famaccount479exactly. The point of the solar is to be able to run the hotel load, especially at night, in complete silence without needing generators.
Fab. Those integrated seamless solar panels are also the future for houses. No more ugly units on the roof.
But instead ugly walls?
Absolutely stunning, huge.
I would own in a heartbeat. Cheers Nick wonderful tour
Many thanks!
Been waiting for this one. And great job as usual, at this point I think brokers are asking Nick to "PLEASE, PLEASE COME DO A VIDEO"
what's behind the lift up panels on the internal stairs - you can see them when you come up out of the galley and sleeping areas. Cracking boat. really beginning to love the catamarans on the channel!
Very clever use of solar power, the engineering and design is amazing, i personally do not like the boat particularly but have to admire the concept, great tour as per usual Nick.
Fair enough!
Fantastic! We need more of these, please.
Spotted NautiStyles at 9:49 lol. They are also enthusiastic about the yacht lifestyle.
Fantastic boat. I can never be sure it’s an Aquaholic video until I hear Nick say “ Thusly” 😊
Really interesting tour and concept. I would imagine when moored up on a sunny day it could generate power for the marina?
Nice one Nick
Like the color’s, especially the hull! Absolutely vast in size. Not the best if a game of hide and seek broke out at sea! Don’t t judge there is not a lot to do out in the open ocean! Nice on the main cabin and fly bridge you can stand anywhere and see pretty well 360 degrees. Excellent as always sir! One of a kind your channel is! Have seen you at a few shows, but you are always very busy and I don’t want to interrupt.
That dude on 11:10 should be informed of correct use of staircases on ships/boats. Downward traffic have always way of right!
Other than that, superb video!
I thought that too. Just plain rude!
those solarpanels are pretty spectacular! I wonder how effective these are, getting sun on them. Great tour as always
They should be decent enough, even if the angles aren't optimal all the time. I just worry about what happens when a unit fails. You probably need to cut into whatever resin they covered it with, replace and redo it. This is likely going to be a yearly maintenance thing, where you pull the boat out and together with all other maintenance you get all the bad units replaced.
@@Rodrifuuu yes you would hope they are very reliable but of course technology does fail regularly. They will probably just leave them be if they fail and slightly lower power output, maybe a complete refit in 20 years time.
Another excellent walk around Nick... despite the boat being full of people. Again, for the money I think that they could have added a Jacuzzi, but not a bad attempt.
Absolutely fabulous, little rushed on the tour, loved it!
What a beautiful craft, now that one i can see myself with
amazing how big it is inside. great tour as usual
Great tour Nick thanks a bunch.
Beautiful colour on this yatch!
God tremendous floating palace my big congratulations gives me a giant envy a hug
That's not a CATamaran. That's a LIONamaran.
As ever, Nice Nick.
Pretty innovative indeed with the solar arrays being incorporated throughout the various surfaces. Nice tour Nick, but no wave 😢 🤗. 🙏👍🇨🇦
Seeing the solar cells on the sides of the hull I thought, "Well... that's pretty damned expensive to just get sunlight at certain times of the day and only on one side if that.". Then I realized... on a sunny day the ocean itself reflects a lot of sunlight all over the place. It probably generates electricity from all sides all day due to that. Good idea.
Expensive if you crash the hull.😬
@@peacem5736 HAAAA!!! I think crashing the hull is pretty expensive generally. You gave me a good laugh.
Reflected sunlight generates zero power. The panels on the hullsides are purely there for cosmetics, bragging rights.
@@TexasStormChaser Zero power! Wow. Can you point me to where you found that fact?
thanksfernuthin You beat me to the observation that solar reflections from the sea are a thing. Kudos to you.
Loving the piano 😊
It appreciated when you tell us how much fuel it hold and the distances on a full tank
There is neither a fuel tank nor a combustion engine. If this was meant as sarcasm, shame on me that i don't got the joke.
I just fall in love with this yacht ⛵ and I wanna buy this one 😍
Beautiful Eco Yacht BUT. look at the Price 8.3 milion So We can only dream BIG THANKS TO NICK FOR THE BRILLIANT VIDEO. 👍👍👍👍🚤🚤⛵
A Yacht with endless Range that is extremely good value in my opinion 👍👍🙏🙏 The World is your Oyster
LOVE this boat.
Fabulous conglomeration of skills to create a wonderful machine.
Lovely yacht nick and good video 🛥🚤⛵️👍👍👍👍⭐️⭐️⭐️👋👋
Nick, you should do a video on your watch collection!!! I've noticed a few different ones since I've started watching a while ago.
Nick another good one! Do the treadmills when in use provide extra power?
Is this a ship? No
Is this a boat? No
This is a island with engines and Sails.
What a hugh thing
And Yesss, it is a Beauty
Many thanks Nick...
Love your videos any chance we'll be seeing any more bearing yachts soon love them
Thank you for the thorough tour Nick. This is definitely a unique Sunreef covered in solar panels as it is. I wonder how long before other yacht builders will incorporate similar solar panels?
Thank you AQUAHOLIC compliment video brilliant explanation exhaustive Yacht Tour 80 Sunreef Eco $ 8.3 Million very beautiful designer deitail are accurate inner and exsternal confortable room minimum exstensium line innovative material precious.
Wow just stunning style and colour Nick Sir.. Massive Boat ⛵ and looking Dashing Nick Sir as always
Great job Nick. Beautiful Cat
Hmmm, Nick: i'm still waiting to win the lottery to pick one of these babies up. But surely, if you'd win a big jackpot, something like this to muck around on for a few years'd be perfect.
Great tour Nick! Nicer catamaran.
Now Nick you have me curious as to what exactly is so secretive about the motor room down there 😂 Can you please gives us an insiders hypothesis of what's so secretive or why that is?
A lovely tour, Nick.
Thank you! 🙂
I love watching your video but would like to see u open more things and show lots more in your videos
your videos are just perfect. Love them
Thank you so much!
best regards from Brazil!!
Who moored that boat, Stevie Wonder? 😂😂😂😂. Amazing video as always
Not particularly my cuppa but it’s an attractive boat inside & hats off to the technology too. They even provide a whopping big thing on the roof to dry clothes! 😉 Thanks Nick!
This is the yacht I’d go for 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks for upload and share your Superyacht Tour video
Thanks Nick!
More solar panels, panels on the sails, power glass, some form of wind turbine on the mast too, anything to not turn on the diesel engines.
Sunreef "The engine compartment is top secret"
Nick "Can I do a video ?"
Sunreef "Sure, what could go possibly wrong ?"
Nick "And last but not least...the engine compartment !"
Sunreef "Doh !"
Fascinating yacht. As solar panels have a finite lifespan, I wonder how they tackle replacements?
It would be cool if you had a exit door out the sugar scoop from the crew cabin and galley.
I want one sooooooooooooo bad!! its a beast of a ship
Very cool and great video as always!
Nick is there a washer and dryer and what are under the steps. Storage or maybe maintenance all 4 steps have hinges thanks keep up the good work
Great tour as usual and electric / sail has to be the way forward.
Well it does answer a very central question: when do you have enough (!) space on your sailboat ? -> when you can fit a piano 😂
Another great review and stunning boat ❤
Hello. Beautiful yacht! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
It looks like sun reef can build boats with a high fit finish along with those other mega yacht producers in northern Europe
Awesome Video
An you do a video on the Eco Sailing 100 foot or/& the 43 Meters (141 foot) Eco Sailing Yacht ?? I doubt anyone has ordered the 43 meters or maybe they have Sunreef needs another Ship yard to start building the 43 Meters Eco Sailing Yacht. I cannot wait to see a layout of the 43 meters. They only show a few pictures of the exterior of the 43 meters. I wish they could show the interiors if a 43 meters
Keep up the good work another great video
It's really fantastic!
Beautiful.
Thanks Nick, another great tour. It would be very interesting to know the yearly running cost difference of a boat like the Sunreef Eco against a similar sized mono haul yacht with “regular” engines. You may save a lot of money on fuel due to the solar and sail, but would the increase in such things as docking fee’s wipe out the monetary savings?
I still do think this sort of merge of technology within yachts is the future, plus the use of sail makes it truly eco regarding fuel usage. Sunreef Eco yachts are truly awesome bits of kit.
I bet the batteries cost a pretty penny, i wonder how long the batteries tend to last. 🤔
Internal combustion engines or diesels spew toxic air pollution, contribute to climate change, support the oil and gas industry which doesn't care about the environment and supports oil tycoons. Such costs must also be considered and they far greater than docking fees! Docking fees??
Very impressive Nick
At 2:44 it is visible that the solar power is delivering 1kW at the moment (Theoretical peak power is around 30-40kW depending on source)
Might be late afternoon, like 5pm or so. It's also in the marina, so no side panels are used/get sunlight.
I am curious as to teh effective lifespan of all those panels. I can see a huge issue down the road when they are burnt out and don't function well anymore. I can't imagine what replacing all of those would cost...
Most solar panels have a 25 year guarantee, I would assume these would be similar. So if it’s guaranteed for 25 years, then it’ll most likely last for probably 50.
Zero moving parts and protected by the paint coating, they will last for quite a while .
They would last longer than the batteries in the sails for sure
How much does oil and gas cost in climate change impacts....trillions??
@@whiteeagle9554 Most panels give you at max 10-12 year warranty, but they will last longer ofc. The degraduation is like 1-2% per year, so after 25 year they still work, but the efficiency will drop by then to 10-12%.
Nice boats,so much space,I would have regen capabilities for the batteries charged by the engines, full time power on tap. Shore charge when tied up to dock, and solar for anchoring out from shore.
I much prefer this interior over Kokomo. I particularly like the galley down. I'm not a big fan of sailing yachts, it is just too much work. Nor, do I care for the look of the solar panels. But, as with all Sunreefs, it is well built and stylish. Nice tour Nick!
Just beautiful! I love everything about this, *especially* the swimming pool bathing platform. What a neat idea! I do love these Catamarans, they make amazing use of space. Can I ask though, Nick, is the sailing side of things totally automated? There didn't seem to be much of the usual 'gubbins' (you can tell I like engines) associated with sail boats!
I'm delighted and frankly surprised to see upscale boat as this under Bulgarian flag, but there it is.
Great efficiency being able to cruise on clean electricity and wind power.
Thanks for doing another cat, Nick.
Great content. I've heard of make money to save money, but spend money to save money is new to me.
Great video!
Thanks!
Instead of the net beds in front can have like a mini garden bed on one side and the other have like a grass/moss bed for dogs to pee n poop. That would be perfect and equipped for family living or traveling.. cant leave the companions
Nick - we need you to go on the Amadea or some other Russian yacht !!
You're just crossing the gangplank when I'm putting this comment but I really do think the hall is a pretty color
Hi Nick, can I conclude that winter is the season of unobtanium and super yachts for your reviews rather than 30-40 foot boats?
Something like that! 😄
10 seconds in and its a BAD A$$ ship. I want one.
Hi Nick 👍👍👍 to the fact it's galley below out of sight, that immense saloon is just that, all living lounge area. Cheers DougT
The solar power of this type is still im novelty phase at this point in time despite any claims otherwise. Electronics and tech is very prone to failure and seawater is an harsh environment.
