  • This tutorial is for owners of MSAFEs. It's nothing fancy, just a video to get people started. You can see a complete list of the safes I have approved in my playlist, Handgun Safe Research Approved:

I do remember some of these information from when you first recommended one of their safes. A part of me feels like the process to set up the user code seems convoluted though. At first, when you mentioned choosing a number, I really thought it had something to do with being able to set more than one user code.

I should have stated that you can enroll up to nine User Codes.

@@HandgunSafe Ah. Chances are I mixed it with one of the failed safes you tested a long time ago. One for which you mentioned the master code could not be used to change the user code.

Just saw this. For the liberty-minded, one of the most important things you said is at the very end: "...and neither does MSAFE." Combine that with the fact that it comes with a default code, looks like MSAFE won't be helping tyrants take your guns.
Do you know if the codes must be 6 digits long?

      Up to 8 digits.

Never found a safe here in Europe (Rated S1, S2 or with higher grades/ratings) with electronic locks that didn’t come with the master code supplied. And from not too long ago S1 and S2 rated safe can’t be used to store guns anymore you have to jump up in the grades/security level to be able to store guns not only that if your safe has an key lock you have to store that key in another safe :) I know stupid but thats why electronic lock are now more common on all types of safes. And there are limits on how many can be stored in the same safe depending on the grade/rating. As an example my safe was around $1400 and its only 17” x 17” in size but it has no limit on how many guns can be stored in it (future proofing on my side).
