Wow im shocked you came up with your tbr for may this quick im still deciding which books i want to read im planning on picking books for Asian heritage month
Love this idea!
Hold Me While You Wait is soooo good! It’s a great romantic love story. It was so sweet. The MMC is ❤❤❤.
I can’t wait to read it!
I loooove Mariana Zapata so much - her slow burn is just... idk, perfection 😬 Kulti is really great, my favourite is The Wall of Winnipeg and Me (closely followed by Wait For It, Hands Down, Kulti). The audiobooks are also so good. I hope you'll enjoy the book!
Really excited to read one of her books for the first time!
Lock every door is one of my favorite thrillers. I love reading about creepy houses.
I loved to hear your thoughts about Addicted to You, I loved that there was some representation for both addictions, and both of their addictions hits close to home and I loved that both characters didn't make me feel alone
I love that so much 🥹🥹
Hey lady, I really like your selection of tbr for May, I am going to add a few to my list. Also u have been loving the sun lately 😅
Shawnaci!!!I just finished Postcards from Summer and it was so good. Probably one of my fav read this year. I really think you will enjoy it. It gives summertime, vacay, love, slowburn..basically all the feels! Your amazing!!!!! Thanks for the videos! You are loved!
Thanks for recommending! It sounds like all of the things I love!
My jaw dropped when I saw Meant to Be in your TBR 😊 I enjoyed this book a lot especially because it’s an Australian author.
Just finished out on a limb and it’s soooo good!!
Omg yay! Now I’m really excited to pick it up
I would say go into out on a limb not biased! Because the book was so great even with the trope most people don’t like, but it was such an amazing book. I throughly enjoyed it and it’s not what I was expecting. Alsooo Mariana Zapata hassss SLOW BURNS 😂. When I say slow I really mean slowwwww. All Rhodes Lead Here was such a great book by here that started me on the journey of her books. Something More was also an amazing book!!
Thank you for the recs! I might try reading graphic novels for book slumps 🤔
You should! It really gets me excited about reading
Great video, Shawnaci! I'm definitely going to add some of these on my TBR! Take care and have a wonderful weekend!
Thank you!!
Definitely will be trying Addited to you if its similar to keeping 13❤ thank you for pointing this out
Please do!
Loved - Out on a Limb. I just got done with it. It’s so cozy! It made me cry.
I clicked on this video so fast! You are one of my favorite booktubers❤.
I am the same when it comes to spice. I’m not into having spicy moments without it fitting into or developing the story. I read Act Your Age, Eve Brown by Talia Hibbert and I wasn’t prepared for all the spicy scenes but at least they fit into the overall character development and narrative 😂. Also, I prefer reading stories about female characters. I think it’s more about relatability for me.
One thing about you you're gonna make sure we get our videos no matter what state❤. That definitely makes you the MVP😊
Thank you so much 🥹🥹
Great list, per usual! I read a small town slow burn called Something So Sweet by Joy Avery and I loved it ❤
So glad you loved it!
Hi Shawna! Just want to recommend Sight Unseen by Kasha Thompson. I think you will love it. The author is black, indie and the story is duo perspective.
Thanks for recommending this one! The cover of it is so cute!
Can we get Taylor’s Goodreads? I feel like she would be so fun to follow!
I don’t think she has one yet, but I’m going to see if she wants to make one! She gives the best reviews!
I loved something more! I read it last year and it was soo good!
Yay! So excited to read it!
Terms of Inheritance by Adorabol Huckleby Ordaz is a slow burn that I absolutely loved!!
All Rhodes Lead Here by Mariana Zapata. Literally the longest book I've ever read and the fastest I've ever read, I could not put it down and loved it!!! Still think about it constantly.
Wow I love that! It must have been so good!
Yaaaas! Out on a limb is sooooo sweet! It doesn’t have a THIRD ACT BREAKUP!!! Woo hoo! I just finished Saving & Redeeming 6 and yes, I’m in the middle of Taming 7!
I need to read “Addicted to you” I have the first 4 books 🫣🤪
I am a spice LOVER, and I decided to try the slow burn QUEEN, Ms Zapata! I read The wall of Winnipeg and me…that book is long as hell, BUT, there was CRACK in that book! When they brushed hands I was giggling and swooning and that says ALOT!!!
Also, Highly suspicious and unfairly cute is YA so not that much spice 😉
Omggg I loooove books with that kind of tension!! I can’t wait to read
I did the audiobook for Highly Suspicious and Unfairly Cute and I LOVED IT! It made me laugh out loud while I was at the gym working out. I highly recommend and there’s no spice it’s a YA I believe. I hope you like it!
Yay! I’m excited! I love books that make me laugh out loud
I’m sending you all the love and a great month🫶 please remember to take care of yourself love (:
Have you read The Wall of Winnepeg and Me by Mariana Zapata? I think it is her best book.
I’ve heard of this one! It looks so good!
Thanks for the book recs! I have a book rec for you - The Never List by DL White. It was a funny, enemies to lovers story that was told from dual POVs. Their banter had me laughing and they also had their own individual stories. I think you would really like this book!
Thanks for recommending!
💜💜
Thanks for watching!
You're videos are amazing I love it thank you so much for showing me I like dear child
Can we be book friends
Good morning. Some Girls Do by Jennifer Dugan is a YA queer read that I’m reading now and it’s good. Kimberly Brown, Alexandria Warren and Alexandria House are some great Black romance authors. Please read them.
Yes! I LOVE Kimberly Brown, her Jereau Family series is so good! Alexandria House may have too much spice for Shawnaci 😅 but her books are Amazing! I think that off all of her books Technical would be a good recommendation. I think that A. Warren’s Skyhawks series would be a great one for her to read. I loved Snoop and KiKi 😊. Great recommendations.

True it is spicy but when Shawnaci read Luca…. She can handle it 😂 but you might be right 😅
@@latoyaw9102 you’re right 🤣
Let me tell you Kulti by Zapata is a correctly done slow burn!
Omg yay I’m so glad!
I hope this isn't too much...if it is....please delete this (I'm 100% serious). Your husband is awesome I can tell he is enamored with you. And, as a father of 3 kids, there is a certain glow all of a sudden. Just sayin'. Keep being a great husband and thanks for sharing your bride with us. She inspires us to read more and contributes to the black book tuber community in incredible ways.
Are the books you read recently written, how old are they. 3 to 5 years ago or maybe older.
Some are older and some are new! I try to mix up the books I choose 🥰🥰
Do any of you listen to the podcast on One Tree Hill? They are on the six season right now and it’s called Drama Queens.
I haven’t listened to it but now I want to because it sounds good!
@@ShawnaciSchroeder The actress that play Hayley, Brook and Peyton are the hosts. The downside is you learn that they had a horrible boss.
A cute rom com slow burn book I adored is “Ready or not” by Cara Bestone❤ I think you would enjoy it🫶
Oo I’ve heard this one is so cute! Thanks for recommending this!
