Love this comment! The concept of doing my part and letting God do His has been incredibly life changing for me. When I started going to church my small group would always remind us of “my part, their part, God’s part.” it's so simple, but has allowed me to live so freely and in faith over control!

It's my pet peeve when someone tries to put a negative side on a kind act. Those people AREN'T charitable and make excuses why it's "not worth it" 🙄. They try to make the people receiving the charity as bad people, say you're not doing enough, or that there are bigger problems in the world to focus on, etc. I love that you keep filling up those little libraries, especially near the schools and food pantry. Keep doing what you're doing! 🥰
I was thinking this same thing and really dislike that someone would even say that to her. She’s doing a beautiful, selfless thing, stop looking for something negative.
You should look into setting up a free little library in your area it would be cool and put it in a place you know where it’s needed

i’ve been meaning to 1) buy books from the friends of the library at my local libraries and 2) fill LFL with modern books in my neighborhood because of how dense the school-age population is and seeing you donate every so often gave me the extra push i needed to make it happen! i purchased the books and now i have to drop them off!

When I fill up our free libraries, I always put kids and young reader books on the bottom shelves. It's easier for them to see and look through without help.

This weekend I was out of town to Tallahassee FL and I found so many free little libraries. Some were in front of homes and parks. It was cool to see some of the houses around there that wasn't on the main roads. I also found a cool park that had 3 ponds you could fish or they had kayaks there. I couldn't visit some libraries due to some parade going on and roads were blocked off. It was fun and didn't involve much money to do.

I ❤ finding new books in thrift stores for $1 or $2 and giving to a free library outside a hospital in my town. Im with you about adding books to the more public free libraries cuz they get more traffic.

honestly, betterworldbooks, abebooks, and thriftbooks have some books in pretty good condition !! they are pretty cheap and you can even get soecial discounts if you hiy a certain amoung of used books + free shipping in the us of you buy $20 or sum
10/10 would recommend ((bwb also has disocunt codes for 10-15% off and sometimes special 20-30% discounts))
We have three free libraries in my neighborhood. Last year…someone destroyed one of them. So sad. It did get rebuilt..so that is good!

I love your heart! Our neighborhood has a free little library. I put a lot of books in it and the next day I noticed on Facebook marketplace that a woman was selling the books I put in there. Now I make a post in our neighborhood the day before I put books in it to give people a chance to get some. I also hope that the person who took all the books sees my post and knows I am on to them. I almost wanted to post her name and tell the people maybe they could see if she would share but I can't do that. Thanks for being you and sharing your life with us!

It’s super cold some days and really warm others so it depends haha! You never know in the Midwest!
Here are some other ways you can help the little free library initiative if you don’t have books you can donate
Put up posters about a LittleFreeLibrary in your area
Ask friends and family for old books you could donate
See if any local independent bookstore will have books you can pick up and donate
Pop by a little free library in your community and see if you can organize it [some can get quite messy and I think just organizing them is really meaningful]
See if you can bind some books in there that are falling apart [does not need to be major but there are some really great tutorials on the Internet and even if it is just putting on some tape you can bring someone joy to have access to that book]
Builder help repair a little free libraries [will need some skills but I have seen book boxes in my community where the handle has fallen off so even just going and asking if you could put it on is a really good deed]

You’re encouraged to drop a book in when you take a book out but you don’t have to if you’re not able to do that!

There’s actually a free LittleFreeLibrary application. There also is a website with a map. Not every library will be registered but hopefully that will get you started. Always just keep your eyes and ears open or if you have the will create your own. Have a good day😊

What do they mean by stealing from the free libraries? It's free! Do they mean that someone might be taking them and selling them? If so, not much one can do about it. But honestly, I'm guessing the one by the school is being emptied by the teens. That would've been a goldmine for younger me.

Imagine if no one gave because they assumed everyone has bad motives… that’s why it’s best to give regardless because what if it does end up in the hands of someone in need? I’d rather take a chance on that!
