2024 Audi Q8 e-Tron Quattro In-depth Mechanical Review

- I've always been a fan of Audi for this one aspect, the attention to detail on build quality is impressive, even on small things that wouldn't typically get the attention on other cars.

This was a home run from a production standpoint. This should convince Audi that they need you as a regular reviewer in the SW US. Other YT’ers are amateurs compared to this.
Bravo!
Wow! That thing is heavy!! I love your comment "It has s news feature in case you want to feel miserable while driving". Very perceptive and witty!!
Just a heads up on the Audis with air suspension, they have a jacking mode that lets the suspension droop fully otherwise they can get damaged. You'll find videos of people not doing it on the RS6 and the bottom of the bag can pop out the wishbones
Your vids are the highlights of my week, always on point, and life would be a little less fun without them 👍❤️
Bhfll
Yay, Sarah managed to get an Audi, so pleased! As an Audi owner I can't wait watch this one! And yes, totally agree with Sarah, the build quality, attention to detail, performance and overall styling of the Vorsprung durch Technik vehicles is truly awesome. In my humble opinion the best of the best from Germany!
If Audi's are a rarity there, you're lucky.
best of the best from Germany!................ ugggghhh, Belgium. (I have 2019 model and built quality is not German. You can tell...)
OMG Sarah, please don't ever change or stop doing what you do!
You've made car reviews fun again! Thanks Bella!
Nice to see that a 7 year old Q5 is still comparable, interior feature wise with similar lighting and cheese cupboards in this Q8 e-Tron. Just much smaller more like a 5 door hot hatch. The interior design of this Q8 e_Tron has IMO some fancy schmancy attractive modern styling features. Thank you Sarah ,for the miles of hard work in all of your productions and builds. You are such an exceptional narrator and damn fine entertainer.
Why is the bolstering part becoming my favorite!🤔😏
So I’m not the only one 🤔😉🤣
Because it's forking hilarious and hotter than an Arizona summer.
@@bjshifflett5408 true that!
It's acceleration isn't snappy and it doesn't stop as quickly as hoped because the damn thing weighs almost three tons! Nice work as usual. ❤
Your comedic control of that yellow foam hand is genuinely hilarious.😂 You could have a second career on Sesame Street. 👌😁👍
Thanks!
Fun little life hack about VW/Audi part numbers: If they end on an odd number they go on the driver's side and if they end on an even number they go on the passenger's side
What happens in right hand drive regions?
@@lonixlon I would assume that the odd numbers still go on the left side and the even ones on the right
@@lonixlon if the number is stamped upside down on the part - its for Australian export models.
Sarah, your finger pointer is just hysterical LOL. Thank you. Have a great weekend. Cheers.
Thoughts:
1. Audi! Nice. I hope they'll finally realize, that they should have sent you other vehicles for review, especially high performance RS and S models. After all you have everything to properly assess and appreciate them - garage with a lift, testing grounds, and passion for cars.
2. Still waiting for an EV that will make "The Jetsons" sounds or Dr Zoidberg's signature woop-woop-woop.
3. Tech data spread over the screen makes my eyes look sideways.
4. Funny thing, when Audi makes a high performance SUV they always end up with a hot hatch, just a big one.
5. Enjoyed the review and completely agree with you about the looks. 👍
Have a great weekend Miss Sarah. Say hey to Charlie and hope his back is doing better Inversion tables are worth their weight in gold for those of us with back issues. Also please push cars if possible rather than pull them. Aloha
Thanks! I work 7 days a week so weekends are just another day lol.
Lying here battling back issues myself I too was thinking about Charlie. If you don’t have your health everything else is a distant second. 🙏🤞🏻

You're always so thorough and very entertaining. 🙂
I don’t bother much about cars but I always watch your videos, they’re excellent Sarah n chooned 👏🏻👏🏻
That looks so beautiful in gray with Black accents everywhere
17 minutes. All fun. Thank you.
3:59 that dig at the Musky Truck... 💯
A bit surprising it did not have that typical EV torque shove - even my humble Renault Zoe commuter-bubble has it; never lost a stop-light drag race so far even when the other car looks to be much more powerful. That never gets old 😁 So far, the winter has not made a huge difference to my EV-experience other than it is much nicer than in my ICE-car.
- Another top notch review and I continue to be impressed that this is just you doing this andnot a big TV production: Perfection, Sarah perfection. Thank you for what you do and Stay Awesome!
They probably mute its power delivery so that the sport version of it, that's probably going to have the same motors, appears to be "faster"😅
Waking up to a car review video. I kinda like it
Yay! Sarah got to review an Audi! (Cool one, at that.) All is right with the world. 👍
Sarah - you still have the best car reviews on the WEB. Thanks.........
Really like your reviews
really like your comments
Double foam hands! 👌👌👌
Best reviews in the biz
Nice freaking shirt! 4:47
Thanks, Sarah, Central California watching
Audi reviews are rare on Sarah's channel as the opportunity for her is seldom. May cars by the company 1st founded by August Horch become more frequent. Personally, I like to see you review an RS5 Coupe.
I likely won’t have another Audi for a long time. They don’t really support journalists in the region of the country I live in. Only big cities like LA or NY.
@@SarahnTunedso you're saying they're just Poser mobiles 😉
@@SarahnTuned if it's any consolation, economist Dr Thomas Sowell cites these cities and their policies as examples of what 'not' to do.
@@RRr-yl8zr They, Audi, are going to direct a majority of opportunities for journalists where their market is most prominent. Markets have a way of fluctuating and being unpredictable as they are regulated by individual consumers. Therefore it may not always be the case that just a select few cities and demographics get better opportunity than others.
@@worseorbetter yep, where the Posers are 😉
Certainly looks better than some of the other offerings out there, do love the added technical images👌
Fifth Element reference: +10!
Does anyone else want to be in the backseat with Sarah help discovering all the cool features?
A very thorough review. Personally, I find the available torque (for passing and merging) to be more important than off the line torque. One issue I have with ICE Audi is the amount of labor to service and repair engine components. It seems EV in general have the advantage. I too love the interior looks and tech.
I've just checked, 250 is in fact a smaller number than 320. love the factual accuracy of your videos.
As a previous owner of an older Audi, this one is insane, with some of the features comes with. German handling is the best in my opinion. Thank you for reviewing this beauty!
The second downfolding 'armrest' is there to be able to put skies in the car.
I appreciate your capturing the "e-tron" in the top down/rear acceleration shot. Little details...
Two things to note, you can map the steering wheel heat to the star button, also you can do a launch mode which is faster than just flooring it.
Very nice job Sarah!
Here in the greater Boston area, this has quickly become the choice for upper class moms. I have seen a few of the S models, but these are very popular up here!
Great review!! Very informative and funny!
I love the sound of this vehicle!! Audi, does not disappoint. 😊😊😊
I really enjoy your wit, knowledge and graphics. A lot of vehicle specs rolled into your funny presentation and cover of the features of the cars. Great job.👍👍🇨🇦 I can’t afford to buy or lease one of these cars but I liked to see what’s available if by chance I win a big lottery.
You would make for a great ambassador of the car community. The review was as honest and fair as it could be you're awesome.❤❤ See you mañana lol
Sarah is one of the most under valued stars of CZcams.
@@bjshifflett5408 I agree one thousand percent
love the assement on the vehiles and the bolstering assement is 1 of the best.
You could put bananas in this compartment?? lol
Eject-o seat-o cuz! The best 2 Fast 2 Furious reference. Thank you again for a highly informative, highly entertaining video, Sarah!
So glad to see an Audi on the channel. The etron is really sharp. Would love to see them send the SQ8 over for you to review next.
Ill be lucky if I get another Audi in the next 2 years, they hardly ever send stuff my way.
Ejecto seat cuz!
Haven't heard a 2 fast 2 furious reference ever
This is a looker! I like it more after the review - thank you great job - knowledge and entertainment combined !
Tron was my favo 80's flick
The remake 10 years ago was awesome!
So glad that you finally got to review an Audi. Now you need to get ahold of a BMW and Porsche.
Could the blue circle around your location in the map be your charge range?
It is yes, I realized that the final day I had the car.
Where I live in Scotland 🏴 Audi eTron & equivalent Mercedes are certainly the major players in the electric car market and this Audi will certainly make it mark
The way VWAG designs things is just *chef's kiss*. People bitch about how they are unreliable or money pits, but you can't treat them like a Toyota. There's no other company that builds A-Z like they do. All of this tech eventually trickles down to the Jetta, Golf, Polo etc. You don't get that from other brands.
Just don’t think I will ever own an electric car. None the less Sarah does great reviews, love her videos….❤❤❤
Always hilarious and silly, love.
I really enjoy your content !!!
Another entertaining review as usual sarah ,nice the ambient lighting features were cool too....
Big Sarah fan here!
Q8 suits you very well, Thanks for the review 👏
Would love to see you review the GT version of this Audi E-Tron when it becomes available!
Thank you Sarah for the useful and informative post ❤
Worth the watch for the "That's a big ----ing brake!!!!" :)
I burned the inside of my nose with coffee when you said "ejecto seat cuz"
Thank you Sarah!
FWIW, you have to floor it AND depress the button under the accelerator to get your boost for 8 seconds. Agree on the news!
Love it as always!
Just a quick correction though: VW AG -> Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft (similar to a public limited corporation)
Keep up the great work ❤
Ejecto seat Cuz. Love your movie references in all your videos.
Love your reviews and your detailing videos, Though I will never own an Electric vehicle, You do great reviews.

That is one beautiful ride! Oh, look, an Audi!🤪
15:00 Most important feature !
Will watch during Sarah-hour at 4:30pm CST.
Superb German engineering from Audi as always. I can hardly wait until they get into hydrogen in a serious way. I really want to see you review a pure hydrogen or hybrid hydrogen-electric machine. The second with a 10,000psi tank gives a range of close to 1,000 miles on a single fill-up of less than 5 minutes using your credit card just like gasoline!
Until the planet catches up I am enjoying every one of your videos, be they reviews, restorations or builds.
I never miss a single one.
One thing I’ll say about Audi is there panel fitment and gaps are usually spot on the next manufacture would be Toyota Lexus and Honda Acura…
"Ejecto-seat, cuz!"
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
...And it's nearly 20 years since that, how time disappears...
Finally an Audi inni !
For some reason, Audi CEO's do not want their EV's to accelerate well. And they are weirdly OK with the competing brands to outperform them at every price level. Also the S version of this car adds way too little to justify the higher price.
Thanks Sarah!🌻🐧
You have to use launch control to get the off the line speed. Dynamic, sport, esc off, hold the brake hard for one second, floor the accelerator till the meter flashes, release the brake.
Damn would be a lot of steps and "work" just to make the car accelerate at its maximum performance. And when I would really want or possibly actually need my best performance acceleration, probably not going to have the time to be messing around with doing all off that. Although it sounds like it Might "perform properly" once the car is already moving? Although I'm starting to think all this "performance/power dampening/power management is done intentionally so that just the sport version seems faster with the same motor setup.
You probably won't have to do all that on the sport version to make it seem faster. Or rather to be faster, easier
I love your reviews! Best on the youtubes! A knock I’d have on this car with the infotainment system is no physical volume knob. I guess they are on the steering wheel.
Before I started watching you, I was watching a history of the movie The Fifth Element. Yes all you have to do is blow on the thing that had the wavy lines on it and see what happens.
While I know that generally you prefer gasoline vehicles for the engagement and the sound, I’m pleased to see that you’re not religious about it. One thing that’s great about this channel, even though the commentary is extra subjective, which isn’t a dig it’s just a fact,is that you take every vehicle as they come. Electric vehicles are very cool, they have some downsides but also some pluses, and I feel like your reviews are pretty even handed most of the time about that.
Editing on your newest videos have been on point. Oh, and that weird shaped circle on the nav when you zoomed out shows estimated range of zee batteries.
I will say, that after having driven a vehicle with almost no physical buttons for radio or hvac, I HATE using a touchscreen in my car for everything. It's also a massive distraction from driving if you're just wanting to change the temp or the vent. Must have buttons.
I could not agree more! Touch screens are an ergonomic disaster and the biggest safety hazard in a modern vehicle, they should be outlawed for any function you need to adjust while driving.
Pretty close to my STI swaybar specs of 28 mm in the front for the legacy🤔
Amanda McCants @amandamccants should film her Calabasas Mom videos driving this Audi Q* e-Tron!
Things like lighted seatbelt buckles are really neat...and also the reason I am considering only leasing new vehicles. In 30k miles, they are no longer my problem. 😂
That’s the exact attitude that fills landfills and makes the efforts of zero emission vehicles near worthless.
@joelzylstra2971 my attitude or manufacturers attitude? Leasing a car doesn't fill landfills. I just bought my wife a new car and it took 5 months to get the manufacturer to fix a software bug that prevented AA and CarPlay from being stable. Made we want to trade dump it and get something new. I mainly drive older vehicles because they are more easily repaired.
@@pkt1213 Was it a Jaguar or Range Rover? This is a common JAG/RR thing. I had the issue with mine, kept resetting the bluetooth connection, but only if I connected the phone through bluetooth, media worked flawlessly. They eventually fixed it but I had to leave it with the service department for a couple of days while JAG UK evaluated the problem. JAG and RR seem very slow to respond to software issues because they actually adhere to a testing procedure.
@@joelzylstra2971
Did you know, about 4,000 major car dealers, across the country, are all banning together to tell Washington, "stop pushing EV's. They just aren't selling". If they don't sell, they go to the scrapper. Then to a land fill. Not to mention the EV fires happening.
Seems they are pretty much worthless already.
The people/sales ultimately drive a market
It sounds like a Tron bike. I kinda like it
SARAH!!!!!
Great review as usual! Need to see your Ur Quattro again in some videos!
Your silly oddness is wonderful! Never change that. Huge fan!
