I'm a mechanic at a shop that maintains Ford's media fleet. It's so cool that when you get a Ford press vehicle it is usually from our shop. If I can ever figure out if a vehicle is going to you beforehand, I will definitely hide some penguins in it somewhere. 😅
The best thing about this review: Sarah tested the Ranger exactly how Ford intended the vehicle should be used.
Love the content.
The most information-dense reviewer I watch, while still being immensely entertaining. Great channel.
Sarah is great.
Indeed!
Did you just call her dense? 😂
Just the greatest content creator and mechanic on CZcams 🙂 you learn something in every video from her ♥️ much respect ✊
This is the version we get in the UK. To us, these are mahoosive.
@@smithp573, and ditto for NZ.
@@smithp573Mahoosive..? You mean like Really Big? We ain't talkin about cows sidewinder! 😂😂
That's one beautifully engineered chasis.
😳😁
And the truck ain't bad either!
the truck is ok 2
The Ranger was the biggest selling vehicle in Australia last year and you see Raptors everywhere here 😊
I really love this car. I've driven my new Raptor for 10,000 kilometers and I'm all smiles😊. I recommend this car to everyone 👍🏻😀
Sarah. I know you compared the size of this with the F150 of 15 yrs ago (sic), but I would have liked to see this parked next to your grandma's Ranger, for size comparison. Overall, brilliant review as always.
Just watched Demuro's review of the same truck. Sarah, your review is so much better! You deliver a lot more information on what enthusiasts want to know, and show the truck actually being used. You rock!
You are the best car reviewer!
I really like just about everything with this truck, particularly how it looks beefy without actually being big. Looks like you were having a blast in the desert. I’ll bet it was hard to stop playing after you made the recordings! Thank you, Sarah. 👍👍👍
I agree 100%. I'd like to see Ford offer it in more configurations, like extended or single cab and a stick.
Loved the sound that V6 makes........and I totally agree......steel wheels and a manual transmission on the base model.......great review Sarah.
I think it’s a total win that they actually put a v6 in this instead of a maxed out 4 cylinder (Toyota?). I think this is the best Raptor too!
Curious, why do folks think the 4 cylinder is maxed out?
@@YerBoyTroy A 4 banger is not ideal for towing.
Neither is a ranger raptor...
@@denimlabels7315 Seems like it was tested against the outgoing V6 and does a much better job
@@YerBoyTroy I have a 2011 2.7 4cyl Tacoma and a 2013 5.7 Sequoia. Going down the freeway at 75 mph the Tacoma is ~26-2700 rpm and the Sequoia is at 16-1700. If I want to pass the Tacoma has to down shift and gets up to 3000+ rpm’s while the Sequoia may not even down shift and won’t get past 2000 rpm’s.
The 4cyl has to work much hard to get a lighter truck down the road at the same speed/load. Literally the gas mileage is only 1-2 mpg different.
I originally bought the 4cyl for gas mileage reasons but after 5 years realized I really didn’t gain anything over the 6cyl Tacoma. I really have less power and am wearing my engine quicker than if I had a larger engine. My 2013 Sequoia has 296k miles and still drives like new because the engine hasn’t had to work very hard during those miles.
I am here for cars and bad jokes.
There is one of these parked outside where I work, that thing looks very impressive and I dont even like trucks.
I agree with your statement about the Ranger having some lower priced model options. After looking for a new Ranger, I ended up finding a 2011 4x4 Ranger, which I think is the perfect size for a Ranger.
Yeah, older generations of Ranger seem to be going up in value now. 83-88 square sealed beam headlight will always be my favorite gen.
Car content with fashion, not to mention all those satisfying finger nail clicks on every material!
The new ranger is so much bigger than the older one it may as well be a full size truck , in fact I'm pretty sure it's bigger than the late 90s F150 .
yeh i wonder what it's weight rating would be, i mean it looks like it could carry some weight
How much did it weigh? My 1990 F-150 was 5500 lb with two people in it and a camper shell on the back.
It's the f150 for the rest of the world so yeah.
@mikespangler98 this one was 5,700.
The Ranger Raptor is a bargain compared to others in the segment (I'm looking at you, TRD Pro and Gladiator), but I still don't do new car depreciation. And I definitely don't do dealer markups. In about 3 years I'll sell my 2010 Raptor and look for a nice used one of these at a discount.
Its price was the first thing I noticed. It's not cheap, but it's a great value for the package. 👍
Been waiting so long for this review! Raptors are amazing!
Small correction: the combined effective “diameter” of the dual exhaust would only be 3.63”, because area=pi*r^2. Because science! 😊
Hi Sarah. Aussie here. You're welcome!
Ford Motor Company is an American multinational headquartered in Dearborn, Michigan. The Raptor is manufactured at their Wayne, Michigan plant. An Australia Ford team helped develop it.
@@ubroberts5541 That why America got them before the rest of the world ?
Thanks!
Awesome Sarah!
Great truck, great review, and great video.
Nice review. Thanks.
Sarah, I love this review. The bolstering test is always hilarious and leave it to you to squeal tires in the dirt. Keep up the great work.
Oh yes! A new and improved Rally Special Stage! ❤❤❤❤❤ I am so addicted to your off-road reviews and this was just as great as expected. Thank you for what you do and Stay Awesome!
🐧Blame the EPA fuel economy standards for the lack of cab configurations. They are based on footprint square inches for trucks so it's easier for manufacturers to sell bigger trucks with "meh" fuel economy than smaller trucks with better mpg. Hence why all the small trucks disappeared from our market and trucks have gotten ridiculously huge over the past three decades.
That doesn't make any sense.
Blame the consumer for buying it.
@@mybighandle they aren't given other options.
I wish they would use that formula and build genuine 4x4 full size vans.
@@terot8341it’s doesn’t but that’s the law. One of the reasons SUVs were pushed on us.
Nice review! I like how excited you got talking about a Ranger Raptor R. 😊
Absolutely loved seeing you rally the crap out of that thing. It definitely has my attention! Great vid!
Loved it Sarah !! Iv been waiting for you to get to this one... Great review and I agree with all of it !!
I want 1 !!! Thanks for your work !!!! 😊
It is so much fun watching your reviews. Finally an honest reviewer. Thanks Sarah!
I was so looking forward to seeing the Sarah review of this one! Did not disappoint!
We need a head-to-head detailed real life on-road/off-road comparison (like only you do) of Ford Ranger vs Toyota Tacoma vs Nissan Frontier!
Love it. I want one 👍🏻
Just picked up my Ranger Raptor, love it!
In the test drive did I hear Sarah say bigger is not always better smaller is more nimble?
Thank you Sarah, i hope Ford quality picks up.
Great channel, Great presenter, Great truck. Thanks to Sarah.
I got mine about 2 months ago and love it. I learned more about my truck thanks to you! Your reviews are far better then mostly everyone else with boring similar ones.
I’ve been watching your videos for a long time. You are one of the best vehicle reviewers on CZcams.
You’re a great mechanic too!
Sara, you are in a class all by youself especially on car reviews, as Mr. T would say..."You Got the Jazz" on this one, great review !
You're having way too much fun in that truck !
Thank you Sarah. Only a couple weeks ago I was wondering if you might be reviewing the Ranger Raptor, and lo-and-behold you were doing it as I was starting to wonder. Your underbody truck analysis is so helpful. I love your work! You are the best CZcamsr ever!
Awesome as always... thank you!
1:30 The driveshaft is painted. The rust color takes time to develop.
Painted with the Ole Rust Color, I see. Nah, they just need to do a better job, especially considering that this little truck is 56K and supposed to be gear towards off-roading.
Yes, the rust finish is officially referred to as a "patina" and gets better with age.
Unprotected metal rusts quickly. That’s original rust-patina brought to you by FoMoCo.
The weird thing is that the international versions do have the drive shafts painted, but the NA version does not. A bit of cost saving I suspect.
Great Video! I've had my Ranger Raptor for just under a month now. I use it as my daily driver, and I also plan on using it for off road fun. I'm getting an average of 19.2 in the city . I use the "R" setting every time I get in the truck. The only dings I would give it are lack of BlueCruise, and I wish the Raptor came with the Orange running lights indicative of the Raptor family.
Looks like you were thrilled; driving this rig. *Fun Ranger.*
That’s a very serious truck. The proper size for those who actually use these for what they were intended for. 👍🏻
Love rally stage 2.0. 👏🏻😎
Nice one, Sarah!
I’ve had a Raptor for a year here in Australia, and love it, the perfect daily..
The Ranger is the number 1 selling vehicle down here, the Raptor is the best version comfortable, fast, handy for towing and putting loads in the back, fits 5 people easy as well
Great video review, Sarah. I've been waiting for you to get ahold of the Ranger Raptor. What a great truck! Digging fhe color also
Absolutely love the yellow pointing stick!
This looks like so much fun! And it looks to be well built, designed and thought out.
It’s an awesome ute
Best thing I’ve ever bought
TFL could learn from this channel on how to do a proper review. Very in depth, nice job!
Its amazing that this thing is 58k optioned out and the new Taco OR 4x4 optioned out is only about 2k less at 56k and the top of the range Taco will be pushing almost 70k! If I was in the market to spend that much on a mid-sized truck this would be my choice for sure.
An excellent review. The combination of dedicated knowledge and the want to play provides a comprehensive and very delightful videp. Keep being a True Leader in this genre genre.
Best content on YT! Rocking it Sarah!!
It looks pretty cool. It’s one of the two vehicles I’m considering for my next daily so I appreciate the review.
Just seeing you in those ankle boots and off roading made my day.
Thanks Sarah!🌻🐧
Shuperb Sarah! You were a total beast driving that Raptor. Please, again consider fixing the Focus and go racing someday. We know you're crazy enough. I would come from the PNW to cheer you on.
A lot of truck for todays money. Still not cheap, but compared to the Bronco Raptor at 90 ish thousand? Great value.
I just found your channel! Love your reviews! SO much technical specs, with a large bit of fun!
Cool truck. Excellent review as always. You rock.
Great entertaining presentation as usual. I love it at the end when I try to guess what scores Sarah gives. Sometimes I'm close and others way off beam. KUTGW.
Thanks for the explanation of the transmission ratios.
Another great review!
Wow that thing is nice.
Happy Tuesday Sarah!!!
Definitely looks to be a blast to rip on that thing. The Esmond haul road is pretty fun for sure, one can bomb down it pretty much unabated all the way to the Pantano, loads of fun.😁
Stay excellent!!!😎
Love your reviews.
Love the Fox Body, @Sara -n- Tuned. Particularly pleased to see your attention to the drive shaft.
greatest creator ever. love your humor
Your exhaust comment....
3.1428 X radius squared
or diameter squared X .785
One 3.5" pipe = 9.62
Two 2.5" pipes = 9.8125
So it's equivalent to one 3.5" exhaust pipe, not 5". 😊
fruit and robot compatibility - I love it
Great review, the best I’ve seen for the Ranger Rap.
I feel this is the limit on how big a car should be as the larger and larger utes are coming over into Australia like the rams and silverados. I do like the ranger though.
I definitely like the mashup of folksy and lightened jokes mixed in with the review! Format also is great and the description of how the vehicle 'feels' during the Beans is probably better than anyone else's! Subscribed!
3rd Gen Ranger...I love how narrow mine is!
We only get the crew cab due to the "chicken tax" debacle.
Cool vibes
Such a GENIUS BEAUTY! (Truck was awesome too) “Baby trophy truck”👍🤣 such a well done smaller truck deserves its own sized Raptor bed badge…
I enjoyed the review.
Exhaust sizes, areas of circles calculate a lot different, a 2.5" has an area of close to 5" X 2 it's about 9.8". A 5" pipe has an area of about 19.6.
@ 20:02 those last two ratings might be the highest scores I've seen you give any vehicle thus far, maybe I'm wrong, great review.
best coordinate matched with outfit of car
Woohoo, been waiting for this review. I’ve had mine for a year now 🇦🇺, we get the K02 on ours, interesting to see what the K03 are like.
Also there’s a company here that puts the V8 Coyote in the previous gen Ranger Raptor.
Nice. I have a 2012 f150 raptor svt and I love it.
BONES & BEANS... I ❤️ can't stop hardening my wide on... thanks S"N"T🎉
That motor does sound great, and lots of shifts with that 10-speed transmission.
We also only get the crew cab in my country although it is more expensive at a conversion of 66000 USD. They manufacture the Ford Ranger here but the Raptor version gets imported from Thailand.
Awesome review!💯
I bought mine 3ish weeks ago and have zero regrets. I gotta total dad bod so seats are perfect and probably the best vehicle I’ve owned. As mentioned in this video the size is perfect!!!
MSRP here in Ky @ Tri-County Ford;)
That engine sounds great.
Nice truck, I like that a lot.
That looks like FUN!!! 😂😂😂
Stilliss when they were small truck had so much fun trailing in old rangers even had rare diesel one done things in ranger that thought was impossible they were fun days and when I give it beans always preferred it tight then sloppy 😂 keep up great work and have a wonderful day.
I like the red glow before the beans test. I watched an old video of yours and I missed seeing it.
