I get compliments over and over from the exterior to the plush interior. Just a fantastic vehicle especially coming from the Q7

    I agree from the waist up, the interior looks nice and funky in the Q6 but that doesn't mean the Q8 is bad.
    One question, does the Q6 have air suspension also, as I love that about the Q8 ride.

    I'm having the same dilemma. While I haven't driven either, I think my pick for right now is the Q8 E-tron 55 SUV with the 20" wheels. The trim I'd choose is the Prestige (North American spec). I have a 2022 A4 45, but am thinking about going EV in the next 2 to 4 years. Maybe my mind will change by then. Who knows?

    I totally agree. I had e-tron, now have q8 etron, wife q4 etron. Q6 is overpriced while being much more q4 than q8. Not to mention that ugly dashboard screen that looks rediculous in terms of design and let's not forget the scandalous one-piece-multi-button touch. Even in q4 touch buttons on a steering wheel is a disgrace and whoever approved that should be fired out of whole automotive sector. Truth be told Q6 does look stunning from outside.

    Another major difference. Towing capacity. The Q8 can "only" pull 1.800 kg. With their manual tow hook. However the Q6 can pull up to 2.400 kg. And it has a semi electric tow hook. So much stronger and much more convenient. That's almost worth the price difference alone 😂

    We had a '19 & '21 etron before our current Q8 etron. We find the current Q8 etron just perfect for our use. We have made many multiday long range roadtrips with the Q8 and frind the range and charging speed adaquate for our use. The interior & cargo space is perfect for picking up visitors at the airport. I am suprised the Q6 doesn't get more range, especially after BMW does so well with their iX. With more charging stations popping up everyday range is not such a big concern anymore. It's been said the Q8 doesn't win on paper specs but when you get in and drive the Q8 it's all smiles.

  • @xXxM4nuxXx
    @xXxM4nuxXx Před měsícem +1

    The main advantage of Q6 is that it has a more efficient drive train it take 3-5 less kWh/100km according to WLTP and it manages to make between 7% to 12% more range from a smaller battery with 11kWh. This is quite impressive.
    Q8 is nicer on interior but is on a very heavy and inefficient platform.
    In my opinion Q6 should be 10.000€ cheaper, but even at this price it’s a better choice.

    This is Perfect - thank you!
    Been umming and ahing about whether I should look at changing up from the 2019 e-tron which has for the most part, been perfect. The only thing that has been a bug bear is the MMI system which just feels dated but also some of the promised functionality around FOD never worked.
    Given there is not much change between the e-tron 2019 and Q8 e-tron bar a handful of range which for me, is not an issue..and now between the Q6 and Q8 all you're really getting is a bit less space overall, and a newer MMI system wrapped around with cheaper materials... I don't think I'll look at changing anytime soon

    Having owned a 2023 Audi Etron 55 S-line sportback for a while now and done a few thousand miles in it, I have to say I disagree with this analysis. This car is by far the worst car I have ever owned in the last 15 years. The tech is intrusive, not logical and 80% of it you'll never use. It has a habit of changing screens without command. Some settings it remembers on start up and others is doesn't. But its biggest issue is in the driver experience. It wallows in the corners and all the different driver settings make no difference. Its sluggish on acceleration because Audi limit the power in all settings, even in Dynamic mode, so you'll never get the claimed 5.6sec 0-60 accept for the first time you engage dynamic mode and only for 7 seconds (ridiculous idea Audi). Having said that, this chassis isn't capable of using its full power anyway. The cars steering has virtual no feel to the wheels, so you're constantly making guesswork small steering inputs to keep it straight, which consequently means it "fidgets" on the road, particularly motorways and that in turn activates the "keep in lane" steering, which is very aggressive to the point of being dangerous. Yes, I can turn that off, but it doesn't remember that setting so I have to remember to turn it off every time I get in the car! With all the said tech on this car, now let's look at what's missing... No full TPI monitoring (deleted by Audi in 2023 on European cars to save money). No one pedal driving. For a car that weighs over 2.5 tonnes that makes this car cumbersome to drive in slow traffic. It has no "creep" function to mimic ICE auto gearboxes, this makes certain driving situations difficult. For example reversing into a tight parking space that's slightly uphill, as you lift off the throttle, the car will roll forward, which is dangerous. I've not driven a Q4 or Q6 Etron, but those who have, say the Etron/Q8 is better, so I can only conclude these cars are truly terrible. Am I anti electric cars? No. My previous vehicle was a Jaguar i-Pace. That is the best car I have ever owned. In comparison to the Etron/Q8, the i-Pace is light years ahead. Double wishbone suspension, so it stays flat in corners. Torque vector braking, so it stays tight in corners, one pedal driving which works brilliantly and improves range. Creep function that allows you to pull onto roundabouts quickly and full power is available in every driving mode, so 0-60 in 4.3 secs is achievable every time and it gives supercar like acceleration for overtaking in an instant. The fit and finish on the i-Pace is on a par with the e tron and in my opinion the i-Pace has better, more comfortable seats too. The etron is so bad in comparison, I'm selling it to get another i-Pace. If you're watching this car review, test drive the Audi E-tron range first, then go and drive a i-Pace. There is no comparison, the i-Pace wins hands done on every front, including passenger space thanks to being wider and being longer between the wheels.
