      Drivers Only Why is the Sienna the only Minivan with AWD? Is it because it is not necessary on a minivan?

  • @seikocitizenwatches
    @seikocitizenwatches Před 5 lety +5

    Flashy compared to my 2005 Sienna until the transmission Bill comes.
    My Sienna still runs on original engine, transmission, suspension, fuel pump, AC, electrical windows at 286K miles, More importantly, maintenance is very low cost with dealer oil/filter change works out to be $20 each time.

    • @richarddexter7641
      @richarddexter7641 Před 4 lety

      I got 285,000 miles out of my 2003 Sienna before the transmission finally gave up the ghost. In a 2018 Sienna now.

    iit's a great car but if odyssey had a panoramic roof, also, awd and 360-cam and chain instead of timing belt it would bit sienna. but it's not a case unfort, . it;s a huge mistake that honda is not always listens. but in following classes: fit. civic, accord, hrv, crv honda is unbitable. in that segment honda much better than toyota. but not in mini-van segment.

    • @DriversOnly
      @DriversOnly  Před 5 lety +3

      Honda insists on a timing belt because they say its smoother. As for panormaic roof, 360 cam I agree. AWD I believe is left out on purpose so it doesn't hinder Pilot sales. The AWD on the Sienna isn't great either because you don't have a spare tire and have to use run flats which cost a lot to replace.

    • @88goga88
      @88goga88 Před 5 lety +1

      @@DriversOnly as for run flat yes it's costly. how ever is runs much more miles than previous tires on second gen sienna. as for awd and hinder pilot - we can see the real case,.. did sienna hinder highlander ??? not at all. the thing is that the suv and van there are two different class. two different segments. some people still believe that they are kinda replace each other but it's not wright. suvs do not replace vans. and vice versa. as for timing belt - generally yes it's smoother but if you consider all cons & pros and take all the aspects into consideration it's really silly idea to use belt. and beside that modern chain engines are quoit smooth as well. compare is the highlander not smooth??? it'a a smooth and great car. odyssey has better seats than sienna, (seats are fantastic on odsy) also built-in vacuum is fantastic idea. also i love interior camera , it great idea. those parts are definatly better than sienna. also 10-speed on odysy is better than 8-speed. but those tings which i mentioned above kills everything. btw also the door pockets on odysy is great. if honda will correct at least those 3 things they could bit sienna. or at least be at the same level with sienna. btw the civics are the phenomenal cars. they are thru masterpieces. especially i love 8-th and 9-th gen civics with CNG-versions. on factory compressed natural gas. it's unbelievable cars. it;s sooo sad that honda disconnected CNG's on 10-th gen cvcs. they are avilable only on 6th - to 9-th gen.

      @LittleBoyOfHope Před 5 lety +1

      i am happy to see you are so proud of those other cars!! I just started working at honda as a salesman and I am trying to sell myself on the products so it's always great to hear good news about honda products! I am trying to find a way to sell myself on the pilots and odysseys right now as well!! I think the run flats is one of those things that is the selling point of why a customer would choose an odyssey over a sienna, also they say no awd bc it's a small niche of drivers that will buy them.

    • @58HUSTLER
      @58HUSTLER Před 5 lety +1

    Don't do it! It looks a hell of alot better than a sienna until starts to break down. Which it will. Honda reliability is no more. But if all you care about is styling go for it. Vcm problems, transmission problems, engine mounts that need computer networks to fuction, steering issues,

  • @__CJ__
    @__CJ__ Před 5 lety +2

    No power memory steering wheel is a terrible omission. What guy would want to get into it and have to adjust the wheel to their ideal setting every time their 5 foot wife gets out. At least the power memory seats will crush my big dad gut into the non power memory wheel. And why are there 2 blank buttons on the highest elite model. They are obviously adding a HUD in next years model. I like the outside looks, but they need to hide that rear wiper up under the spoiler like many makers are doing. You can get a very compact vehicle vacuum that comes in a small portable bag, with various attachments, for 25 bucks. I don't know why reviews go so crazy over one that a manufacture provides. No 360 cam is criminal on something this big.

    It seems like Honda can't shake the Odyssey...it is great for business as well as family and we many times used it as a pick up truck to move furniture and other stuff and also as a camper... yes the Odyssey as a camper, just remove the middle seats put a full size inflatable mattress in and still room for a cooler and bags, so much that can be done with it to say the least.
