You got the seal of approval from none other than the Bank of Sarah! It doesn't get any better, does it! Enjoy your time at the cabin. Hope you are fully recovered soon Sarah!
I started watching before the shingles and before the wood stove went in. You must feel so accomplished while enjoying this creation with your wife. Love the woods, inside and out.
I have to sometimes make myself think about that, Sarah reminds me, especially when I am frustrated I'm not done yet. She says "yea but look how much we've done!"
You've gota remember your not only building the Cabin but the shop your lives together ❤ & work & lifes events with family and friends along the way. Look how far you've come in a few years👍
Man it's hard, and I don't fully understand it myself, I've got a low angle block plane, that should in theory be better at shaving end grain and it could never do that. I don't understand why, yet that plane, I barely ever touch it and it just works.
Love to see all the small projects getting completed. The cabin is just amazing. I've been watching since before your "AC" video years and years ago. Thanks for the commitment to showing your progress and keeping it real. Glad you guys are able to do more enjoying every visit.
I love your cabin and how homely and cosy it is. Are you going to have any flower or vegetable gardens? Best wishes to Sarah in her recovery. Our first Labrador Milly was a golden Lab, she never listened either on her walks! Our chocolate Lab Sheldon is the exact opposite. Labradors are absolutely the most wonderful dogs. Both Milly (dec) and Sheldon have brought an immense amount of love into our lives.
Beatrice is our second lab, we had a Chocolate Lab named Hannah for 14 years and she had a completely different personality! They are wonderful dogs. Beatrice is half golden retriever, so we get all that wierdness mixed in!
@@50Acres I’m so happy to read that your chocolate Lab lived for 14 years!!! My daughter’s name is Hannah. We lost our Milly at 8 years due to cancer and Sheldon is nearly 10 years old.
Great to catch an early morning video from you. Things definitely have greened up and its been nice and warm with cold nights still. I laughed when you interrupted the turtles playing piggyback. 😆 Cool to see some updates on the cabin today. Thanks for sharing.
Hello my dears, I had already seen 2 videos but today I subscribed to your channel, a house with so much affection and good taste I love hugs from Portugal 😊
Standing outside on a scaffolding painting the house, feeling tired of it, i went inside to have a break. And here i am, feeling uplifted and inspired to go outside and keep that brush moving. Thank you, and good job! It is the little things that makes the home feel like home, right? 🤗
I was thinking the same thing that Sarah said, " it feels completely done." And that's got to be a great feeling. It's absolutely beautiful. But while the cabin may seem to be finished, I hope there will still be videos coming from it. 😊
Like Beatrice, I’ve been on somewhat of a protest mode about mowing my lawn. As I look out the window however, I’m not sure that was a good idea. Great video.
Hello, Mike and Sarah! Thank you for the lovely visit to your warm and welcoming cabin. I hope that Sarah is on the mend and will start feeling chipper real soon!
Its been awhile since Ive stopped by and wow! I have been following as far back as I can remember the living space was bare. Its amazing to watch this and remember everything you've done and see how much further its come since. What a time jump for me! You have come a very long way and all your hardwork is showing proudly. That hammer really is magic.
As always amazing work... Every time I see the Bench Back I feel like a storage place was missed. Hinge the shelf to raise just enough to pull the hinged back rest forward, a tall place for friends like Jack, Jim, Tito, Johnny or hidden Pew-Pew. G-Rated version Capitan Crunch and Friuty Pebbles... just a thought
Wow, so impressed with all the thought and work you've put into the cabin. You could have cut your build time in half but you made it your own and that will be something appreciated for many years into the future.
I think that mirror cabinet looks just fine being an open space below the mirror, I dont think a drawer would make it look better. Functionallity is another thing and thats only you to know about.
Not done in the buggy loft yet. Did you get stink bugs and the lady bugs there? The shed out back will need two stalls now! The excavator and the big truck bays! Everything looks great! Very inviting and comfortable!
The deck is becoming an urgent task for us. Due to the south facing direction it’s pretty much useless in the summer without being covered. Plus we need to protect the trim from the rain spatter.
Looks great! I hate to be captain obvious but all your doors look great except the white door to the back… good thing I know a guy named Mike that can handle this!
You got the seal of approval from none other than the Bank of Sarah! It doesn't get any better, does it! Enjoy your time at the cabin. Hope you are fully recovered soon Sarah!
Sarah is doing great!
@@50Acres Super!
Mike you ad Sarah are amazing couple! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you, our pleasure!

Great video Mike! I really like that you created a new category of shoes too - construction slippers!
lol why wear uncomfortable boots when you can wear slippers!
Nice job Mike, it's gotta feel great hearing the appreciation from Sarah. I hope she's healing well.
It really is nice, she is very appreciative. She's doing really well, too well, I have to stop her from being too active.
Wow, that walnut looks so nice, and yes, I totally watched you build all that stuff, you’re so talented!
Thank you Nena!

Look how far you've come in a few years👍
Thank you Armida, very true, sometimes Its hard to believe there was nothing there but grass and trees when we started.
details r so amazing grains wood lined up etc etc just so awesome a cabin feel better sara and beatrice
Thank you James! Sarah is doing well.
Mike, I have been watching this build since you had long hair and I am amazed at the level of craftsmanship you have in this cabin.
Thanks Mark, very nice of you!
you surley don't have to apologize for your craft, infact, you need to showcase it where ever you can, God Bless
Thank you Robert
Great job,regards to Sarah 🤓🇫🇷
I had to laugh about the fly catchers, I haven't seen those since the 1960's. As usual everything looks great.
Thanks John, yea, they don't seem to do much that's for sure.
I can tell you've got some sharpening skills to make shaving end grain look that easy with a block plane!
Man it's hard, and I don't fully understand it myself, I've got a low angle block plane, that should in theory be better at shaving end grain and it could never do that. I don't understand why, yet that plane, I barely ever touch it and it just works.
@@50Acres Maybe it's from the same foundry as the Magic Hammer :-)
My mother wouldn't have let you continue working until you tied your shoes! Love the channel.
Hahah mine either!
I loved a rainy day in the woods. As kids we could build a fort and then see if it stood up to the rain, haha. Nice video.
Same here!
Real;ly looks great! You always remind me of my Grandpa who was a carpenter when I was a kid. The skills and the love you put into the wood..
Thank you so much I feel honored
I don't know why that turtle thing got me, I'm still laughing. Thanks love your work
Lol, turtle PDA
i just love the contrast with the different colors of wood and texture, it is so beautiful!!! you have such a creative mind.
I'm glad you like it!
G'MORNIN', LOOKIN' GOOD. GREAT JOB, KEEP SAFE AND WELL...
Good Morning Bob!

Hey Sean thanks man!
I was just watching '50 cabins and an acre'
That trim work is just spectacular.
Thanks Sean!
Ahh...the finer touches of life!
Absolutely stunning. 😍
Love the trim details! You are a true craftsman and an inspiration to many a woodworker!
Thank you very much!

Awesome as always. Thanks for sharing and taking us along
Glad you enjoyed it
Trim really looks great.
Love the split planks that continue the grain from the banquet to the wall. Your attention to detail is helping retrain MY brain. 👍🏻 Thanks.
Thank you Kate, glad you liked it!
Love the Greene and Greene Cloud Lift (burst) detail as I'm a huge Stickley, G & G and F. L. Wright fan. Hope Sarah is doing well these days.
Thank you me too, to me that stuff is just the pinnacle of design
Lovely
Brotha Mike! Got the same slippers. Same problem - always un-tied. Yank 'em. Go sans strings! Nice alt. vid.
Thanks Kelly 👍
👍 Good jobs. Finishing a large project is nice, but those small quality of life fixes are huge.
Thanks, definitely!
What a great work!
Congratulations.
I can't wait to see what solution to climb up to the loft you'll come up with!
Thank you very much!
The cabin is looking fantastic.
Thank you!
Thank you

Watching here in the Philippines ❤️
Turtle was giving you the stink eye thinking, "Take a picture. It'll last longer!" 🤨
lol!

Ha, ha, that's a good idea, I probably should have planned ahead and done that.
Just need a nice tiger picture and you can call it home.
Hahah!

Цвет носков 😊😊😊
лол, у меня много интересных пар носков, потому что Сара выбирает их для меня!
Not done in the buggy loft yet. Did you get stink bugs and the lady bugs there? The shed out back will need two stalls now! The excavator and the big truck bays! Everything looks great! Very inviting and comfortable!
Yea we get both. I’m definitely going to need to rebuild the excavator shed!
Add outlet covers to your list of things that need to be finished.
If you have Instagram, you can check out the outlet covers I have made. I haven’t installed them yet.
Mike clear coat that curtain rail it wont go green if you do that clear coat stuff you know Good job Mike looks ok to me
❤️👍👍👍
You do beautiful work, Mike. For my part, I'm looking forward to you finishing the deck. Very curious about how you'll install access to the loft.
The deck is becoming an urgent task for us. Due to the south facing direction it’s pretty much useless in the summer without being covered. Plus we need to protect the trim from the rain spatter.
Look great mike! From ohio
Cheers Rusty!

Thanks Joshua, I need to do something with that door!
Can't help to notice you're wasting gas by not turning the burner off when you carry away the pot and pour over the coffee.
Cover plates!
I have them all made and they are going to be super cool
Now you just need to put those covers un the ligth swich
I have made the outlet covers!
Looks great. Are you planning on stairs to the upper loft? Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Sheila, yes we are planning something for loft access.
It’s always the electricians! Lol.
Lol! True
It seems to me that you have quite an eye. For design.
Thank you!
Seems like you always have running streams. What next hydro power?? You are resourceful**
Yes I do hope so one day!
tortoise interruptus.
"Do you mind!!!"
😎🤙🦅
The difference between your wife and mine is that MINE would say something like "That's okay, I wasn't really trying to sleep anyway."
haha! I think Sarah may have known the camera was rolling or she might have said that!
Tie you slippers before you trip
those damn box tortoises just having sex out in the open all over the place, the nerve! LOL
