@WilliamSmith-mx6ze peter tatchell made himself a nice cosy corner as a sort of gay Ayatollah: you didn't elect me but you'll damn well respect me. Funny, considering his background.
@@WilliamSmith-mx6ze There's a great story about when the militant brigade were picketing The Generation Game. Larry invited them up to his dressing room. One of them said the word 'homosexual'. Larry covered his dog's ears and said, 'you can't say that word in here, you'll frighten my poodle!' Larry - total comic genius. Love him!
Of his time, never to be repeated - thank goodness I lived through that kinder, gentler period where people listened to raconteurs like Larry. A beautiful soul.
A lovely gentle man. So natural and funny. He worked so hard to achieve the success that came his way. A uniquely British star of tremendous ability. Sadly missed.
What a wonderful story teller and true gentleman. Sadly people like this are never seen on television today and certainly do not have the talent or charisma. R.I.P Larry ❤
Larry on modern television: "I can't bear all this people getting into bed with everybody... it frightens my dog". God love him he was hilarious and never any need for bad language or ugliness.
What you saw was what you got. No acting, just a natural warm human being. He may of loved Torquey but the love of his home town was stronger and returned for the last few years of his life. he loved Nuneaton and the people of Nuneaton loved him
Love Larry Grayson. A unique comedian that isn't seen anymore, such warmth and love in what he did, no sweating or racism, just pure comedy from a sincere and wonderful Man. I have cried with laughter watching the generation game, can't get enough of watching him. I'm sure I can hear the angels pissing themselves with laughter on a quiet star lit nite. Good nite Larry, and everard X leo
Two of the best people ever in show business, Larry Grayson and Terry Wogan... They don't come much better than that. " ' tis a gay day t' be sure. " God bless 'email both.
George Reid he was like that in person. He was a very generous person who did a lot of charity work for free in his home town of Nuneaton. In the pub he was just another customer and would chat and laugh with anyone who wanted to talk to him
You can tell that they are both very fond of each other, and yet there is a cheekiness about the interview that stops it from becoming too much of an old pal's act. Lovely stuff :-)
More people like Larry on TV now days please. He was so funny. My nan loved him. She felt she could talk to him. Me poor grandfather never got a word lol.
Great upload. Both Laz and Terry at their peak here. Larry was always proud of his roots in Nuneaton, and he was very much loved for his kindness and sincerity.
Always remember watching him every Saturday night,he was so funny the whole family would be laughing, I would always remember my mum saying, he's not really is is to my dad 🤣🤣🤣,I'm 53 now and still makes me Laugh.
Time has robbed these people away from us.. We should learn from this and appreciate those around us right now before they and we are robbed out of time too.. Dont dwell on sadness and disappointment.. Focus on that fact.. We will be gone.. One day soon..it comes quicker than we think.
So sad that Larry Grayson isn’t with us today. A very genuine and comedic individual who had such amazing talent. He could draw a laugh with just a purposeful look or a quick comment. He never resorted to swearing or some of the distasteful humour we find today. Despite being sorely missed, it’s great that there are so many recordings available of him, so we can continue to laugh with him today.
It's sad because now we have vile people like Graham Norton that ain't got a clue about comedy so have to be as rude as they can get away with just to shock. And all Norton jokes about is sticking something up your bum or other gay sex innuendos
Terry - "Are you going to cut out all the unsavoury bits" Larry - "No you're in it" 🤣🤣🤣🤣 absolutely love Larry Grayson he was hilarious, kind and had great one liners. Larry - "Aren't you going?. Fancy. Well, you're everywhere else, aren't you?"
It's weird how random life is, the zeitgeist collision occured very late for him but somehow it had to be that way, he was like a hodge-podge of things familiar to audiences at the time, a bit Dr Finlay meets Katherine Hepburn meets Frankie Howerd but a genuinely warm sincere man which as he says is the key, widely loved and missed
such a nice chit chat. i love larry graysons comedy and what a nice gentleman. thanks for uploading this. i think i have watched everything else on him here on youtube
Larry Grayson & Terry Wogan two lovely people having a chat. How I miss the days when people like this were on our TV screens.
Grayson was a vile homophobic stereotype.
Ah, Larry Grayson. Kind, talented, mild mannered. No-one in showbiz has ever had a bad word to say about him
Peter Tatchell absolutely hated him.
@@MarkHarrison733 Oh, sod Tatchell. If Tatchell hated the great and brilliant Larry, then sod Tatchell.

The most underrated and undervalued entertainer in the history of British television.
Decent, Honest, modest, Humble. It could only be Larry Grayson.
Your message here sums up England 1945-2000. (Northern Irish, living in London for donkeys years)
Of his time, never to be repeated - thank goodness I lived through that kinder, gentler period where people listened to raconteurs like Larry. A beautiful soul.

What an absolute gent. Larry was an absolute joy. His stories are so entertaining, he deserved his fame.
A lovely gentle man. So natural and funny. He worked so hard to achieve the success that came his way. A uniquely British star of tremendous ability. Sadly missed.

Two wonderful intelligent men. Larry's timing was faultless, a glorious, warm comedian, much missed.
Two gents of Showbiz. Sadly missed.
One of the kindest, warmest souls I have ever witnessed (only, sadly, through the magic of CZcams, mind, but none the less) - Sorely missed.
George Reid he was like that in person. He was a very generous person who did a lot of charity work for free in his home town of Nuneaton. In the pub he was just another customer and would chat and laugh with anyone who wanted to talk to him
What a beautiful man Larry was, so warm and kindhearted. And so funny too.

...two great men sadly no longer with us, makes remembering these programmes even more special...thank you 👌🌼
Larry was one of the very best comedians ever,God bless him.
He is a legend. So down to earth, naturally funny.
You can tell that they are both very fond of each other, and yet there is a cheekiness about the interview that stops it from becoming too much of an old pal's act. Lovely stuff :-)

I grew up watching this and other shows at my nans house back in the early 80s.
I seen this and realised how much I miss my nan!
Two absolute legends thrust together!! They don't make 'em like that anymore.
Larry was the star you could approach in a street and he would stand and talk for as long as you wanted to.
Lovely man !

+Robby334 Well said I so concur with you.

Overwhelmed by the words about Myrna Loy he was such a lovely man
What a lovely man Larry is....
So wonderful to watch these. I recall these were on a Saturday night as a 17 year old.
I prefer to look at today and tomorrow, but people like larry do make me think of better times. He was 39 then. Good lord
Always comes across as a genuinely all round nice guy.

They've found Larry's autobiography since his death in a box complete... Why has it NOT been released? There is, I'm sure a audience for it.
