True legend...timing to perfection and belly laughs always ... So many jaw aching smiles and pleasure he brought to so many! Sadly missed... RIP Larry 😪
Masterful. A true comic with impeccable timing, one of the greats. It all seems so effortless, but the comedian fraternity all agreed that Larry was up there with the very best as he worked and worked with performance at his core A true entertainer who truly loved his audience. My mother met him once and he was a total gentleman with time for everyone God bless you Larry. A lovely man x
I grew up seeing things like this on TV, together with Dick Emery and Are You Being Served. Larry Grayson was a true genius and excellent performer. He had the Ken Dodd way of making people laugh, really enjoy themselves and not have to result to crude language. I have started watching these shows now I am older and can appreciate the true value.
I feel sorry for todays young people, what dross they have to watch. I feel grateful to have seen some of the top comedians. Thanks for posting these 'Good Old Days' shows, magical .
Larry always won over an audience within seconds and the intimacy of the City Varieties was perfect for him; seated and relaxed, he was at his finest with this sweetly charming but sweetly cheeky song, 'Madeira, M'dear'.
My nan had a bicycle exactly like that one. My nan & grandad were also fortunate enough to get tickets for The Good Old Days. Such tickets were as rare as hens teeth so I was told and one's name could be on the waiting list for many years. As a nipper I loved Leonard Sachs and The Good Old Days on TV.
Looking at what's available on TV now is like looking at a barren wasteland, no real comedy, God bless you Larry.
🤦♂
When God created Larry Grayson he broke the mould. Wonderful Wonderful man. Sadly missed. But never forgotten. RIP sir.
From a time when a performer and audience could both laugh at themselves. We didn't know what we had. Sadly missed. RIP Mr. Grayson
We can never repeat or reproduce this level of comic mastery
I try to be 😍

The timing is impeccable. One of the first comedians to engage the audience directly - with such respect and fun.

He was brilliant. As are so many modern comedians. What's 'bad language'?
Nuneaton's finest son. Bless our Larry. 🙏🏻

My mum loved this show ❤️🙏🏻
Superb - watching a comic genius. Nobody could play an audience like Larry - maybe Frankie Howerd comes closest.
However does he do it? It's just amazing skill.
Comic genius makes it look so easy and the timing spot on
Absolute legend. What a gent. Genuinely funny, not resorting to bad language or smut.
very funny man for sure !
His facial expressions remind me of a cross between Mick Jagger and Tony Blair 😂
Reminds me of Frankie Howard
ooooohhhh, you are awful, but I like you !!!
@@Bond2025 That was actually Dick Emery's catchphrase ( when he was dressed as a woman)!
What happened to everard 😍
Just makes you laugh.Not a bad talent😂
Could someone explain why he calls attention to the candle burning on Leonard’s podium?
He was always doing little asides like that 😉
The running joke was that Leonard held a torch for him
The token “gay”
Great times
