First time I heard this song I thought 'A sad song, bordering on desperation ...' Then I read what Aurora said about it:-
"It means a lot to me and it's written about giving too much. It's Mother Earth writing to humankind about wanting to thrive again. ..." 😢

This is her one and only live performance of this song (appropriately with an orchestra) -- she has such vocal and breath control, that I think she is purposeful in every note, and in her vocal flips and slides, in order to convey the emotional underpinnings that emanate from within.

Oh yes, lots of singers out there with great, great voices, lovely vibrato, fantastic vocal range, belting capability....and whatever. Skilled, trained, shining voices, and I've heard them all, very often with pleasure. But only Aurora is Aurora, and very few can hit me and take me away like her. It's a great reaction, Larry. 😊

You obviously like to pay close attention to Aurora's beautiful voice.
There is one live performance that I think is almost perfectly recorded where she has almost no reverb on her mic.
It's one of those songs where only O. Martin supports her on guitar.
I don't know of any reaction to it yet, although I think it's particularly "pure Aurora".
I think this song would be a great recommendation for your Aurora journey

So with all the drama she went back to Canada and Europe and left the U.S behind.

Everything she makes and perform has a purpose from a vision bigger than her own. She once said her lwords and melodies came by them self from elsewhere. When was a child she even did not know what those words ment.

Thnx for yet another great AURoRA reaction🥰
IMO, AURoRA is what comes closest to a natural (organic) voice, you cannot cathegorize her as a vocal coach.
She emanates the soul and field of emotions of each song., and she emphesize it throuh her natural movements and storytelling sound.
As a Natural Voice teacher, she's a good example of someone who's succeded to be true to who she is to her core, and still successful❣
Also it is more of a challenge to be true to your storytelling and keep a "correct tone" when you slide from lower register to higher visa versa, and also sudden drops.
And often those "imperfections" will touch you more and bring forth healing 😘
(but you have to be able to set aside the "normal" way of analyzing voices and sound in general )

I disagree on the placement of two letters. I think Aurora is perfectly perfect (amazing voice, unique performance skills and thought processes, brilliant, distinctive lyricist (in her second language no less), boundlessly creative, magnetic personal charisma, wise beyond her years, very intelligent, quirky personality and very, very funny). Watch these two brief Tik Tok clips that I think support my opinion, in respect to her personality. 1/ "How To Attract Guys" (czcams.com/video/_cEWy7MNchU/video.html) : 2/ "The Tale Of The Blueberry Muffins" (czcams.com/video/ZreWrrY9L7A/video.html) ". Two other examples of her quirky element; when she was nervous before the Nobel Peace Prize concert, she took a pine cone to the press conference to help her feel grounded; attending the Oscars after her role in "Frozen 2", her ensemble was a reworked judo suit; both examples clearly say "only Aurora". PS As for your comment re her "lower areas' listen to the lower register in this acoustic reworking of "Temporary High", which on the new album is a fast paced 1980s synth style, this reworking is from a recent performance on German TV (czcams.com/video/VGzBbdNeQmM/video.html). I hope you can find time to watch the clips.

Idk…honestly I’ve kinda been disappointed by your last few Aurora reactions. I feel like you’ve stopped really listening to the songs. The recent reactions have felt kind of rushed and that’s disappointing. In my opinion Aurora uses tone to convey whatever emotion she is conveying… I’ve never felt like being perfect was ever very high on her priority list…but I think that that’s what makes her extraordinary as a artist and performer. I wish you had listened more to what the song was about and less on pointing out where her tone fluctuated. That kind of scrutiny works for, let’s say, opera where voice is super important but not at all for artists like Aurora who care more about getting to your feelings than being clapped for. Just my two cents anyway. This is why I’m very selective which artists I listen to…you start diving in too deep into too many artists and the overall vibration just seems to tank.

Hello Chris, for me the lyrics are the most important thing by AURORA, then the music, which sometimes seems to contradict the lyrics. I mean the sad or very sad songs. I don't find the music sad at all. The music seems confident like "there is still hope".
Her perfect imperfect voice conveys the feelings better than a purely perfect voice. And there are songs where it's obvious that AURORA hits a different note on purpose.
E.g. "It happened quiet" - she sings "don't speak over my voice", you remember? That sounds so obviously wrong sung to express exactly what she wants to express.
There are songs by AURORA where she sings perfectly for me (Exist for love). And then there is this song. I'm not sure if it's not a stylistic device of hers. If Aurora is really doing this on purpose, then vocally she's beyond perfect. I don't like to judge that in the end. Anyway - it works.
    Have a nice day and
    Greetings from Germany

    • @Eva-iz1vn
      @Eva-iz1vn Před rokem

@@larryshair Of course we all have our limits in our registers (Except Dimash, he probably also sings infra- and ultrasound), but when you talk about her struggling with the lower register, I´m not quite sure if it´s actually struggling. She can sing totally without vibrato, but she is also able to add vibrato, and also just in a part of or at the end of her notes. I might be wrong, but I think it´s deliberate.
In Exist for love, she chose to use a version of her singing that she called "not perfect", because it encapsules the emotions she wants. What is a perfect voice anyway? Perfectly schooled? Trained to do certain things? A voice that communicates what you want? A voice that touches peoples hearts? Who is actually the authority to judge (among 8 billion people)?
I usually really like your Aurora reactions, but I agree that you sound picky here. I was a little disappointed. I was looking forward to you enjoying this. But it´s like you, instead of taking in this wonderful piece of music and performance, spend the time justifying liking Aurora despite her not being "perfect".
She is a wonderfully talented musician. I am convinced she is a genius, with her, I think I, understood what genius actually is. She is able to see a bigger picture, constantly creating, making music (and other arts), and has planned albums for years to come in her mind. (Just her making albums named Step 1 and Step 2, and when she made her most recent one, she said: "This is not Step 3", you can understand that she is a visionary. How many good musicians struggle making more than two or three good albums...) When I heard this performance, I started thinking she could also become a classical composer.
You should really watch the reaction of The Charismatic Voice to Aurora´s performance of It Happened Quiet, when she talks about Aurora´s body language, I am blown away. I can also recommend the documentary Once Aurora which tells you a lot about this woman, she didn´t want to become an artist, but she wanted to make music, and understood that she was the best one to express her music the way she wanted. And her wise mother said it would be too bad not to share this, when it could mean something to other people. People have claimed that her music has helped them through anxiety, depression and other struggles. In my opinion that is massive, and much more important than a "perfectly" trained voice, even though that also might be beautiful.
I hope you listen to this performance again on your own time, and take in the message and the beauty of this sad cry from mother nature.

Hey Larry I'm a longtime watcher from your very first video of Aurora. I would like to request a reaction to a new artist for you by the name of Tom MacDonald. Maybe start with "No Lives Matter" czcams.com/video/t86ClLM3ZGY/video.html If you will go on this journey you will find that like Aurora he has changed many many people's lives for the better. I promise it's worth it and you will be shocked. I've never heard a song from Tom that I didn't fully support. After a few songs you will most likely discover that he has truly enlightened you on many topics that you didn't even know you needed to know about

I don't know if you are a fan but if you are not experienced with Linkin Park, I encourage you to react to Linkin Park - One More Light. It's a song he wrote about suicide and specifically his friend Chris Cornell's suicide. A couple weeks after this album came out he took his own life as well. On the anniversary of Chris's suicide.

Have you done Eminem - Rap God yet? Maybe you have and it just hasn't been uploaded yet but you must do it. You say "Rembrandt"....you need Rap God. Also I'll give you some amazing suggestions. Most are his solo songs but ill give you two or 3 great songs that are duets with other "great rappers" and you will see just how far ahead of his time Eminem is and how much of a God given talent for poetry and word play he has that he does duets with other rappers out of respect but makes them look bad in comparison because he is so much better. I'd love to see your face and hear your reaction when you hear those tracks. Anyway the other best solo tracks besides Rap God are : The Way I Am, Soldier, Without Me, Sing for the Moment, Not Afraid, Beautiful, White America, Hallie's Song, Business, Evil Deeds.
Now for 5 Collaborations where Eminem elevates his normal talent to a whole new level to outshine everyone on the track.
    1. The best example is "Renegade" featuring Jay Z. Jay Z is huge in rap, but Em completely destroys him on Jay Z's own track and album.
    2. "No Love" and "Drop the World" featuring Lil Wayne. The verses Em spits in these songs will make your eyes water. Industry competition at it's best.
    3. "Forever" with Drake, Kanye, Lil Wayne and Eminem. He makes all the other 3 look awful.
    4. "The Monster" and "Love the Way You Lie" are both duets he does with Rihanna the pop star. It's not that he outshines her. They just work well together doing their own things.
Promise all of us you will dig into this list. You will thank me.
I'm Chris Elliott from Brisbane, Australia.

The wavering is all intentional, it's not because she is trying to sing perfectly and then failing, it is part of how she conveys emotion.
