Special thanks to Leo K [Rogue], EileenThaCrow, and Icarus Gaming for information and inspiration that I made use of throughout this video. Please check them out!

Best Combat system in the whole series for me, i feel like the intricacies of this combat system were lost game by game. I enjoy the other games combat but no other AC makes you have to really think during combat like AC1 does. Great video also, you covered everything as far as i know.

Amazing work Kino, especially considering the above average lack of guide content for AC1. Really liked your conclusion and explanations in general.

  • @hadu_kae

ac 1 had best combat system, if only unisoft worked on more animation and variation of later ac(ac 3 and bf) without sacrificing the ac 1 combat system simplifying everything to mere two button mindless combat 😡,

So, I what I do during combat (when I'm not being lazy and just counter/fear takedown with the hidden blade) is switch between weapons on the fly like Dante switching styles. Each kill is like a different weapon from the last one.

They really downgraded the combat animations in ac 2 😔(ac2 is my favorite and best story in the entire series imo) , i think they did it because they had to focus more on ac2's larger scale maps

wow unreal that someone is posting guides the week I decide to finally play AC1

  • @AGamer0515

Ac1 and 2’s combat has so much advanced tech it’s unreal. Amazing video btw

I hate the combat in this game it feels like a have a brain hemorrhage every time i have to do it. Altair when he counters someone with high combat skills he doesn’t kill them he just punches to the ground then makes me lock on to another person not letting me finish of number 1. Number 2 the countering system is as bad as a 74 year old senior citizen who ate Taco Bell then took multiple grams of laxatives then decided to create a magnitude 9.5 earthquake , because why is it even when you counter some higher levels Altair just doesn’t kill them. Why is this any different then the lower levels (less armoured) stabbing or slicing them in the stomach, arm, legs, any exposed body parts this why I loved when you were able to chain kills in brotherhood if this game had it the load would be much better. Number 3 breaking defense is so unresponsive when I clearly tried breaking their defense they just counter that there’s counters to breaking an opponents defense. Listen I don’t want to have such an easy experience when I play a game but it’s too much especially when half your good moves like grabbing and defense break can just be nonchalantly thrown to the side. ITS JUST NOT CONSISTENT… THESE MOVES SHOULD WORK ON EVERY ENEMY because I can’t break my enemy’s defense easily but they can. Number 4 overload of enemies will be the death of me because it literally be a ten v one it’s infuriating it feels like am getting diddied in my holes by multiple men.

Late comment but I seen a video on how to "turn" Templars against gaurds. On Altair there is no counter kill animation since Altair can't die, only desync, but against other gaurds the Templars have the same finishers as Altair. Really cool to see.

  • @Kaino-wo3vc

To me this is the best combat in all of the ac games, the only problem I have with it play ac1 is that you have too many synch bars, and that is why I am hoping for a mod that let's you choose on how munch synch bar you would want.

  • @rairaur2234

Fucking based. Making an AC1 combat guide in 2023 is simply legendary.

  • @icarusgaming6269

This one comes from Hayete: After an empty block every enemy type is vulnerable to a grab during their recovery frames and will not grab break you. This essentially converts it into a defensive move, useful when there are ledges or breakable objects nearby, but no weaker enemies to throw into them

One more thing I'd like to point out:

  • @SoMudge

Your channel was a great discovery to me. Glad there's someone who loves the classic dilogy as much as I do and delves into the game mechanics.

  • @mohsinabdulshukur

Tbh ac1and 2 is the only game where combat is actually taught in a training ground and in ac1 all the techniques are acutally taught to u
