  • A glassy sea in the harbour heralded a very long day of wind whispering for Emirates Team New Zealand who completed their thirteenth day of training out in Auckland on their brand new AC75 ‘Taihoro.’ Forget the master-blasting of recent sessions, this was a lower range day of sail testing with multiple jib changes up and down the scale as well as testing the M1 and M2-1 mainsail skins with a drone in the sky and plenty of movement onboard as the trimmers jumped out of their pods for better viewpoints of the shapes they are trying to achieve.

Alinghi looks fast. I'm a bit concerned about their aero design. A bit of unknown with what they have. Kind of like the 2003 team.

she looks fearsome in light winds... it's nice to see how the top three teams in the last edition came up with very close designs. seems they have it very much figured it out, at least with these rules. it's going to be interesting

    Moving faster than windspeed?
    trimmers dream!
    Upwind trim: close hauled
    Cross wind trim: close hauled.
    Downwind trim: close hauled?
    It's practically a speedboat😅😅😅

This interviewer maybe needs to ask Blair Tuke how to pronounce Taihoro.🤔

@@geraldbaily170 Evidently you don't follow basketball and the teasing that was done to the NBA "world champions" after Germany's victory at the World Championship, but since I'm a kind person I'll try to explain it in a way that maybe even a Anglo-Saxon can understand it.
Think about rugby, before the World Cup the ranking had Ireland as the favorite with 91.82 and yet the victory went to South Africa.
Now think about football, before the World Cup Argentina, the current world champion, was only third in the FIFA rankings at 1773.88 points and yet won the title.
I would like you to draw your conclusions on your own, without me having to explain to you that in sport every competition is worth the title that is up for grabs and even the strongest do not automatically become world champions when another title is awarded.
