Exposing children to sexual things too young is legitimately traumatizing to their brain. That is so sad that people like this have kids. I don’t doubt that Blanco is exposing his son to inappropriate things for his age, but there is a way to talk about physical sex (as in, sex organs) and other related topics that _is_ appropriate. I would say it’s even healthy - if not very necessary - to teach kids about their bodies early. My mom was a social worker before she had my sister and I, and before she became a high school counselor she worked in the foster system. Because of her prior education and what she’d seen/experienced in the foster system, she started talking to us about “sexual” topics at 4/5 years old. We knew what a penis was, what a vagina was, where we poop and pee from, how babies were made, etc. As we aged, we learned about puberty, consent (8-10), sexual activity, birth control, STIs/STDs, even non-hetero sex (12-13). Our early and appropriate exposure lead to the two of us having very healthy relationships with our bodies, sex, and sexuality. We felt comfortable with our mom being aware of what we were getting up to and how we were feeling; we never felt it necessary to hide anything. I don’t think it’s a bad thing for kids to know about sexual topics, but whether it’s a positive or negative thing is entirely dependent upon _how_ you go about explaining it.
Yeah no, outside of teaching kids it's inappropriate for people to touch them in certain areas I don't think it's healthy to teach children about sex. There's no need to. It is traumatizing.

Definitely need laws protecting kids against their parents posting online. I've seen some things that are straight up abuse, like one guy "pranking" his kids by putting laxatives in their ice cream, then filming them crying with sore stomachs running to the bathroom. I watch and follow Only Murders in The Building, Selena and the rest of the cast are just wonderful together. Like they really seem to love and respect each other, Selena seem to be her best self whenever I see her shooting or hanging out with the cast/staff. Then I go into youtube or instagram and see one bad headline after another related to her and I'm just 😫 like we're all rooting for her but she keeps messing up. I don't think she's a bad person, but she makes a lot of horrible decisions and doesn't seem to learn. It's unfortunate.

Working in daycares for 10+ years i definitely had a few goofy conversations with kids about what they think of their bodies. Especially when you spend time with kids, diapering and potty training, weird conversations happen. Kids are hilarious. My old boss kept a little notebook in the office where we could write down crazy shit the kids say and then we'd read through it at a staff meeting or something and have a laugh. Even then, we only included fellow staff who all know and love the kids and CARE ABOUT THEIR PRIVACY. I would even argue that laughing with other grown-ups about kids being weirdos is an important part of keeping your sanity while caring for small children. BUT .... I'll never understand how it is legal for people to post their kids online like this. Naked, going to the bathroom, having meltdowns, and saying inappropriate things they don't even understand... Kids typically go off on weird tangents like that when they're with people who make them feel safe and comfortable. What a betrayal of that trust to post them online for millions of people to consume.

I agree 100% I also worked in childcare for quite a while and we would always joke about writing a book with all of the absurd and funny phrases and things we would hear. We would laugh about it together, just staff, and maybe tell that child’s parent if they would also find it cute or funny, but that was it. Kids are funny, and laughing about it as adults keeps us sane. But sharing these out of context, absurd statements with trusted adults who love that child is entirely different than posting it online to random people with unknown intentions. Also, totally agree about breaking that child’s trust. When I was a kid, I remember being so embarrassed about having a picture of me in the bathtub in a family photo album, because my chest was exposed. I was probably 4 and there was bubbles covering everything else, as an adult I can see it’s a cute memory but as a child I was so embarrassed. But if that had been posted online? I probably would’ve never trusted my mom again. I just don’t understand how people don’t take into consideration that the internet is forever, and their child are PEOPLE. Not just accessories or toys or whatever. They are people, with feelings and personalities. Children deserve respect and privacy as much as, if not more than, anyone else.

I have a 4 year old little boy and am pregnant with a baby girl ATM. One of the first conversations my man and I had about parenting was about posting them online and what is appropriate to us. You know... because we are the parents, and it's our job to protect our children who can not consent or understand what it means to put things online. I'm sorry but, how many toddlers have you been around? Because it's *very* common for toddlers to make comments about their bodies like that. It doesn't automatically mean that Benny or someone else has said something like that to the kid unprompted. It's certainly possible, sure, but a 3 year old boy talking about how his thing is gonna grow when he's older doesn't, in and of itself, mean that something shady is going on. My brother said similar things like this when he was a toddler because he literally would ask our dad about it, just as I asked my mother why i don't have boobs like her when I was like, 4. Neither of us were molested nor did we say it because our parents would talk about boobs and penises at the breakfast table or something lol. We said it because we started noticing our bodies for the first time, and we had little baby brains, so we asked our parents. We knew what a penis was, what a vagina was, where we poop and pee from, how babies were made, etc. As we aged, we learned about puberty, consent (8-10), sexual activity, birth control, STIs/STDs, even non-hetero sex (12-13).
Our early and appropriate exposure lead to the two of us having very healthy relationships with our bodies, sex, and sexuality. We felt comfortable with our mom being aware of what we were getting up to and how we were feeling; we never felt it necessary to hide anything. I don’t think it’s a bad thing for kids to know about sexual topics, but whether it’s a positive or negative thing is entirely dependent upon _how_ you go about explaining it.

I also worked in childcare for quite a while and we would always joke about writing a book with all of the absurd and funny phrases and things we would hear. We would laugh about it together, just staff, and maybe tell that child’s parent if they would also find it cute or funny, but that was it. Kids are funny, and laughing about it as adults keeps us sane. But sharing these out of context, absurd statements with trusted adults who love that child is entirely different than posting it online to random people with unknown intentions.
Also, totally agree about breaking that child’s trust. When I was a kid, I remember being so embarrassed about having a picture of me in the bathtub in a family photo album, because my chest was exposed. I was probably 4 and there was bubbles covering everything else, as an adult I can see it’s a cute memory but as a child I was so embarrassed. But if that had been posted online? I probably would’ve never trusted my mom again.
I just don’t understand how people don’t take into consideration that the internet is forever, and their child are PEOPLE. Not just accessories or toys or whatever. They are people, with feelings and personalities. Children deserve respect and privacy as much as, if not more than, anyone else.

what the baby says isn’t funny, and as someone who’s survived CSA i told those jokes and said overly sxual stuff when i was young because it was happening to me. i’m not saying it’s happening to him but someone is teaching that 3 year old little boy about this stuff and it’s disgusting and abuse in a way, seeing it, knowing about it, even if you’re not abused physically by them, it makes you feel disgusting when you’re older and makes you look at those adults different.

I'm sorry but, how many toddlers have you been around? Because it's *very* common for toddlers to make comments about their bodies like that. It doesn't automatically mean that Benny or someone else has said something like that to the kid unprompted. It's certainly possible, sure, but a 3 year old boy talking about how his thing is gonna grow when he's older doesn't, in and of itself, mean that something shady is going on. My brother said similar things like this when he was a toddler because he literally would ask our dad about it, just as I asked my mother why i don't have boobs like her when I was like, 4. Neither of us were molested nor did we say it because our parents would talk about boobs and penises at the breakfast table or something lol. We said it because we started noticing our bodies for the first time, and we had little baby brains, so we asked our parents. Like I said, it's certainly possible that Benny or someone else talked about inappropriate stuff with the kid, but I think we shouldn't just make that assumption from that video alone. (Also, to be clear, it is NOT okay that he posted that first video at all. It's extremely fucking weird.) The thing that concerns *me* the most is him just posting his naked toddler uncensored, while that boy is talking about touching himself (good god i feel gross just typing that). I have never experienced csa or anything. I was a kid so I didn't understand the potential implication for an adult. (I knew because I was a kid so I would take baths with my dad.)
