She’s saying influencing is an “insane” job, while I’m working 24 hour shifts, fighting fire, cutting people out of cars, doing CPR on people while their loved ones scream in the next room, seeing human bodies in conditions that no one should ever have to see, all while barely being able to pay my bills. I have no sympathy for someone who gets paid millions of dollars to sit in their air conditioned house playing with makeup and taking trips that most people couldn’t even dream about
@@raesfav I appreciate that so much. I obviously don’t do it for the recognition; I honestly love my job and do it because I love helping people, but what she said rubbed me the wrong way
thank you so much for what you do, it must be insanely hard. i hate seeing people like her literally spit on the faces of people that give their life for others
Fun fact, my oldest dog will displeasingly howl every time he hears Mikayla’s voice play from my phone. I figured it out one day when my headphones died, and now I use it to randomly make my friends laugh. Thus far, he’s never been triggered by any other sounds.
@@luvvhazbinss yup. Every time the camera shows his face up close she will lose her shit barking and growling at the tv and won’t stop until the camera switches focus.
I don’t see how people see her as bubbly tbh, she’s always given me 'girl who would have acted as my friend but bullied me in front of her own friends' vibes
ah yes, influencing is just as hard as: never being able to travel because you can’t take time off. working physical labour that is potentially destroying your body. hour long commutes to and from work. having to take public transit or walk home at night as a woman. not being able to buy the things you want or need despite working full time. not being able to take a sick day because you used them already and need the money. Working overtime ten hour shifts and then opening the next morning because YOU NEED THE MONEY. Ugh.
This. Then add being a single mom to this. I honestly believe she woukdnt know what to do or how to function. Working retail type jobs for almost 30yrs straight ruined my hips. Like, I've developed arthritis so bad in my hips that I'm gling to end up needing a hip replacement by the time I'm 50-55 (I'm 45, been working since I was 14-15) other factors played into this, weight, blah blah, but if she had to do half of what you said or what I've experienced, she'd probably off herself. I'd love to be an influencer. Seriously. You know for a fact, if she doesn't want to film that day, but lay in bed & eat ice cream & watch Netflix, she does. Must be nice is all I gotta say 🤷🏽♀️🙄
@@teresascanlon6729 exactly. I’m sure being an influencer has its flaws and difficulties, but to say her occupation is just as hard as what the working class experience is insane. Even if she did as much as the working class, she makes TONS AND TONS of money. Crazy amounts. That’s a big difference, as tons of people are living paycheck to paycheck nowadays
Wakes up at 7. +6 hours = 1PM +3 hours = 4PM Has meetings from 12-5 and when she’s filming, it’s 5:19. I fucked up my math exam, but even the Bob who has 500 apples in word problems finds this absurd
she takes gaslight gatekeep girlboss way too seriously TO THE PEOPLE WHO LIKE THE PFP I GOOGLED LESBAIN PFP AND WENT TO IMAGES AND SCROLLED AND ITS UNDER A TIKTOK
As someone who works in nursing for geriatric I couldn’t agree more. Try picking up a naked 300 pound man off the floor who slipped in his own pee thinking he could walk to the bathroom and having another little old lady trying to bust down the the door to know where her dead husband is 😑
I got so angry one day watching a CZcams Short (that was clearly a tiktok repost) from a pretty big creator, this person was essentially defending Mikayla by saying “Influencers lie to you all the time, you cant get mad when they do. Get over it.” It made me comment something like, “But that’s exactly why ppl are mad, they’re tired of being tricked into buying shitty products. It doesnt matter if it’s $4 or $40, ya lied.” This started a war. Thanks for covering this Cooper, I feel so seen and heard right now, I will never watch that other creator again.
@kickrocksmaybe YES! Holy hell the amount of people crawling out of the cracks to say 'influencing is lying and totally expected' was INSANE 😱😱😱 It really sucked because a lot of them weren't even influencers, and it seems to have permanently damaged the pseudo relationship with influencers across the beauty side of the web. Then the counter videos that came out saying that "No, influencers are supposed to be completely honest and just not take the brand deals they don't like." Because the entire point of online influencing, was people describing their personal experience-- rather than yet another marketing scheme or shill.
My Issue isn't even the fact she lied. It's the fact that she made so many videos making fun of other influencers for being fake and lying about products and then turned around and did this.
She even lied about donating half her glamlite palette to roe vs Wade (never stating which organization, or showed proof of donation after being asked MANY MANY times). There is not ACTUALLY 14.7 million subscribers. They’re BOTS. It’s been shown MANY times in the subreddit all the comments are from accounts with same like names (AND PICTURES) who comment the exact same things. Not even HALF of her followers followers follow her on instagram, where she claims to be a makeup artist, WITH CLIENTS. She does not have clients. She NEVER shows anyone or has an option to BOOK her. Her content doesn’t revolve around being a MAKEUP ARTIST. Just someone playing with the makeup. But yet she would keep making videos about having clients. When she was working at ULTA she had clients. But since being an influencer she HAS NOT had clients. Yet she would continuously post about having them and then never showing a look on a client, only EVER on herself. THEN, when she DID do makeup on someone else (her mother I believe) SHE USED HER OWN FOUNDATION ! Don’t makeup artist have all shades ? How does a makeup artist not know color matching is different even in family ? Especially when she uses self tanner. She’s a fraud. She photoshops her body and face to make herself appear “slim” thick, instead of just a big girl influencer, WHICH WOULD HAVE BEEN FINE ! But she blatantly lies to people who do support her and they just eat it up cause ‘they’re a influencer they’re suppose to lie’ 😩
Right she IS a liar … that’s exactly who she is … so, she is being her “true self” maybe a psychopath… only other thing I can think of. The people that follow her???!!!! WTF 😳
@certainlynotaserialkiller YESSSSS!!!!!!!!!! Fckin A, that's her and Colleen to a T. Exactly what I was thinking! Funny/I like the algo is sending me his older videos.
Salem Tovar made a great video on this subject and I really liked how she talked about how Mikayla's "comeback" video is an indication of Mikayla (as an influencer) deciding to stop being a "person" (so to speak) on her platform and instead becoming a "brand". She explained how the whole sidestepping and not addressing the issue ties into it and idk just some really neat points :> If you want more conversation on this particular topic or just some more cool commentary channels to check out, 10 out 10 recommend Salem 💕
As a therapist I would like to add that social anxiety does not make people mean or rude, usually it’s causes people to be “people pleasing”, giving them the inability to set boundaries and say no while in the social setting. Just saying…
I have social anxiety & I do exactly what you just described. I work 3 jobs 6 days a week from 6am to 9:30pm & am unable to set boundaries with my bosses & friends & even family & am unable to say no to pretty much everyone out of fear of disappointment & it makes me so angry that shitty people do shitty things & then give half ass apologies blaming it on their anxiety when or social anxiety or depression when that’s just not a valid reason & also not what people who actually have these mental health issues do.
I bought the L’Oréal telescopic lift mascara, honestly no regrets. I’m not much of a huge length girl, I just want my eyelashes to be visible and kinda “natural” so it works for me :) I only bought it after I saw other influencers show how it REALLY looks like, and I was like “perfect. time to buy it”
Saying “I was rude to a waitress because I have social anxiety” has the same vibes of someone being justified for absoluting UNLEASHING anger on someone “because they had a bad day”…. Like just because you are upset does not give you the right to make others the same
I have moderate social anxiety and I could never be rude to waitstaff or anyone providing me with a service, like serving me food or selling me clothes. I’ve been in retail, I’ve been a waitress; the stuff we’ve had to put up with is abysmal. So I couldn’t do it myself, even if my order’s wrong I try to make as little fuss as possible.
I work in retail and have had customers rant to me about having a bad day, but they're still so kind while they do it, and apologize to me if they do feel like they're coming off as a rude person. We all have our days, but in the end if you ruin another person's day by being an asshole, you're just an asshole.
it’s so weird because i have social anxiety and i could not be rude to a waitress if i wanted to because i just sit there and stutter my order at them while planning my funeral in my head. can’t even get enough words out to be rude
I have horrible social anxiety, that's not how it works.... I'm self conscious about even being perceived as rude. even when someone bullies me I sit there and just look at the floor shy and scared of them, I couldn't be rude to anyone.
If her job is SO much work and she hates it just THAT much, then why is she still an influencer. She's digging her own grave so much deeper than it already is with how little sense her lies make.
So true. Plus she has enough money she could probably take a LONG break from work in general. She’ll keep getting revenue from her products and videos. If it’s so tough, why not just give it a rest? She just loves to complain
I mean how many people do you know that keep the job they hate. People complain. It's human nature. People can't just quit their job. Who knows she may not have experience in something else so she's sticking with what she knows. Can't blame someone for playing it safe.
21:58 wow I can’t believe people are using “I have social anxiety” as an excuse to be an asshole. Like I seriously remember working a job that I had to socialize 100% of the time for minimum wage with social anxiety and was having slip and slidel ideation and I still was nice to people that were nice to me because WHY WOULDN’T YOU BE. Like even the thought of treating someone who is nice rudely is wild because that would make me even more anxious.
influencers with "social anxiety": *yells at waiters for no reason* me with actual social anxiety: *too nervous to ask the waiter for some more bread sticks*
Social anxiety doesn't make you an asshole. Being an asshole makes you an asshole. I'm sorry to those who ACTUALLY have social anxiety. I swear to GOD influencers just try so hard to convince people they have depression or anxiety or ADHD so that means they're allowed to be assholes. 🤦♀️
As someone who has social anxiety, a stutter disorder, and friends who were actually diagnosed with autism, ADHD and bipolar disorder, I wish to bite all posers. We want none of these disorders and try our best to do good even when our disorders are at their worst. But these people see it as a "get out of drama free" pass
Nah Social Anxiety can definitely make you an asshole. Remember being an asshole is about your impact not your intention. Some of the ways people with anxiety try to protect ourselves can be incredibly rude and make others feel bad
People use literally all mental illnesses as a scapegoat at this point. Whether they have them or not. It’s a popular way to try and get out of repercussions because people don’t want to be mean to someone who’s saying they’re mentally ill. Mental health isn’t your fault but it’s your responsibility. I don’t get to just say “well I have ADHD, and anxiety, and depression, and PTSD” every time someone calls me out on something. My actions are still my own and I’m responsible for them. We have access to the internet, so we in turn have access to the bare minimum of tools to help us understand our emotions and cope with them so we don’t take it out on others.
@@cjboyo huh? Being an asshole is definitely about intention not just impact. It’s not just one or the other. I have social anxiety and am 100% capable of being an asshole, even if I didn’t intend for it to come across that way. But there’s 100% people who *intend* to be an asshole when they say and do things.
I just want people like her to stop blaming their bad behavior on anxiety. I have bad social anxiety and if it does one thing it is making me more friendly towards others. It turns me into such a people pleaser and I know for a fact that this is what many people with anxiety relate to as well.
@@pommiebears Yeah. I have depression and social anxiety and have barely any photos of my self. I’m in my early twenties and have maybe three selfies, because it’s too anxiety inducing to even post my face online. And then I see influencers talk about terrible anxiety while going above and beyond to be the center of attention-? Just rubs me wrong…
same here, i think we're all scared of people hating us, and yeah we can be a little cold and aloof because of it, but being down right super rude to a waitress, doubt is because of social anxiety. plus is putting a bad name to our condition
The way Cooper can make jokes about someone or something while staying respectful is insanely impressive to me. The *vast* majority can only do one or the other.
Yeah! And that’s a really important part of commentary videos, to call out the person without putting them down in order to make yourself look better. Coopers awesome
As a guy who suffers from social anxiety, I can tell you that the last thing you're going to be able to do is be rude to someone. Maybe in a moment of crisis you can be more disconnected, or uncomfortable, but the simple fact that you take the attitude of being an asshole to someone, goes against your "social anxiety"
ok so it’s obviously less likely for someone with social anxiety to be outwardly rude. People with mental illness can still suck though. People struggle with different things. Those suffering with social anxiety can still be outspoken at times, and they can also be dicks. Symptoms differ for everyone. most of this shit is internal anyway. (not defending her, I just get annoyed when people generalize mental disorders)
I know right. I want anything but for someone to think anything negative about me or worse, have them get angry or sad because of me. Idk I really can't handle negative emotions
dude. i also have social anxiety, and guess what? i’m considerably rude to someone if need be. not everyone with social anxiety is a limp towel. don’t gatekeep a condition because someone else doesn’t fit your checklist, but i do agree in this one specific circumstance.
I have had diagnosed generalized anxiety disorder since I was 16, I can definitely be an asshole when I’m going through a rough spot with it even if that makes it worse. Anxiety doesn’t manifest the same for everyone. Generalizing everyone with anxiety as a shy kid who sits in the corner isn’t helpful.
Jokes on you, I insult people a lot because I panic on the spot and for some reason that's my automatic response so I just have to remember that moment every time I try to have a peaceful night instead 🙃
she even uninvited her friends to her own wedding to make room for influencers she didn't even know. They entire thing just seemed like a brand deal also rather than a wedding.... edit: people have pointed out that this is false and made up by a jealous friends so that is completely my bad
Lying about a product also harms the brand. Now L’Oreal can’t sponsor any influencers without people remembering that one time Mikayla was paid to lie about their mascara. Using fake lashes was probably a choice on her side but it still gives the brand bad rep.
The brand still approved the video. The influencers have to send the video to the brand before they post it. If the brand didn't like it, it wouldn't be up
@@delaneykeller1389 true, but it’s probably one team in one dept that approves videos like that lol. Might’ve also not known she used the fake lashes. Just cuz someone works in the L’Oréal branding dept doesn’t mean they’re experts on makeup. I wouldn’t think they noticed. The internet beauty community did though lol
I started this yesterday & had to come rewatch it today bc I found out about the UNLV shooting while I was watching. My husband has a friend who went there, he wasn’t there but his sister was on campus so we were frantically trying to get info so I just tuned out on the rest of this video. Just came back today to watch it with them both safe (though I wish I could say the same for everyone) and I noticed your shirt for the first time. 😭 so unrelated, just really stark to me. Great video as always.
5:08 she's complaining about waking up at 6am and recording videos for 6 hours every day? I wake up at 7am and go to school for 6 hours for 5 days a week. Same amount of time basically.
as someone who’s in a trauma surgical unit in the medical field I get VERY frustrated when I see influencers talk about when how “hard” and it’s only for a “small amount of people” smh just be grateful
she is perfectly fine to complain about her job, because I do believe it has its downside as well. It's the 'my job is so much harder than anyone elses' complaints that boil my blood, because it is objectively not. Whining about getting up at 7am and having long meetings, when her job first and foremost consists of sitting in front of a camera, doing her make up and talking to people who adore her is just the pinnacle of not being self aware.
I made a living online for a while (sexy stuff, pre only fans) and it was BY FAR the easiest work I've done. Make ur own schedule, stock pile content so u can take several days off. Even talking to creepy guys, theyre far away and blockable unlike retail customers or terrible coworkers. It's not like I was making a ton of money like her but it was enough. She's just a dumb brat.
Wow, I legitimately thought she must have had children in their 20's before I found out her real age. She gives off serious "grandma in denial about her age, so over uses products to stay young" vibes.
A commander said she looks like she's cosplaying as a mid-30s housewife but I think she is the mid-thirties housewife cosplaying as her teen daughters instead of wondering where they get these styles from anyway while rocking their mom pony tail and T-shirt with long sleeves underneath
Someone tried to tell me it would be so hard for her to fake an accent this long. Girl, let me point you in the direction of OG influencer Paris Hilton, who put on a baby voice for YEARS.
I do think she at times exaggerates the accent. I have been living in Massachusetts for close to 10 years and a lot of people have the same accent as her. I also know of people here who fake a more normal accent and their actual accent will come out ocassionally.
Some people don’t under how EASY it is to fake accents ESPECIALLY if you’ve ever been anywhere close to acting. I can go to my American accent to my theater Scottish accent to my theater German accent at will. It really is THAT easy and some people won’t know the difference of theater and irl accents
Her making being an “influencer” out to be “soo hard” is a slap in the face to those of us with jobs where we’re working 65+ hour work weeks doing physically demanding jobs or those SAVING MF LIVES! She has it so easy, most of them do & they want pitty from hard working people. Gross af ❤
I send hugs to yall having to work 65+ hours a week but as someone who used to be in healthcare all jobs are hard. A job is a job. Lets stop acting like we are more important than others because of our job titles 🙄🤦🏾♀️
like .. i’m a 16 y/o with a part time job that, during the summer, had me working almost the same hours as the ADULTS that are working full time. i work as i don’t get funding from my parents; clothes, food, gas, insurance .. all me. i play volleyball, both competitively/through travel and school, as well as class work, homework, studying, etc as a junior in school. my schedule is quite literally 4:30 AM - 2:20 school, 2:30 to 4:15 volleyball, 4:30 - 9:30 work. it takes me till ten to get home, then i have to eat, shower, study, finish work, feed my cat, and workout in a small ass timeframe. all of that, only to wake up with a solid 5 hours of sleep to do it all again. the past week, i’ve had bags under my eyes that have yet to go away. i’m dreary and reclusive from my boyfriend and friends, i don’t need to hear about how an influencer is struggling with her 2-4 PM posting schedule.
@@cazuvs that’s what it was for me! I’ve worked since I was 14 years old. No parents. Just a grandfather who raised me to work for what I wanted and needed in life. Its insane how these “influencers” can complain about working 2ish hours a day. I WISH I could get famous by doing my makeup on a video.
As someone with social anxiety, I can confirm, being rude isn't "social anxiety". It's honestly kinda annoying people use that as an excuse when having something like that is a real problem.
Very true and for me I think it's the exact opposite, maybe cuz I also have lots of trauma, but I get so nervous all I wanna do is be nice so they don't get mad at me and the interaction can end quickly.
I get told I'm rude all the time. I just am not good at talking and can never think of how to respond properly it seems. I never say anything rude people just say I am because I'm quiet and to myself.
@@SparkyGecko This is the exact same for me because despite being a girl my dad has an intense voice so my voice is a little deeper and sounds a bit ruder(I don't really know it doesn't sound that way to me)so when I speak it comes off as rude or offensive even though I'm just speaking I usually get scared bc people look at me like I'm a bully and I just shut up
This exactly sometimes I come off as rude because of how quiet I am because I get anxious, but I am very very very nice to everyone because if someone is having a bad day, I don’t want to make their day worse
As someone with autism if you told us we were rude it would make most people (like me) apologize and try to work it out. The difference between us and socio/narcs is that they don't apologize they say it's just how they are.
a woman who worked in mascara commercials and doing the makeup for them literally talked about how they can’t use fake lashes and have to use that mascara only…so there’s more rules for an actual commercial than for paid advertisements 😬
It's actually illegal to use false lashes or any lash extensions etc. in a mascara commercial and if brand was to be found out for doing that it would become a massive and expensive lawsuit about false marketing.
@@missbeaussie Ads have been banned, companies have been sued etc. over usage of false lashes. Cosmetic ads have laws against misrepresentation, over-editing, using extra products and not disclosing that. Maybe do even a simple googling without just saying "I think that's bullshit." Different countries have different laws but basically in all countries laws regarding cosmetics is that based on the images used or potential editing or usage of false lashes etc. cannot deceive buyers into thinking that the product is more effective than it is, and also you cannot lie about not using products you used.
@@jermuhh3359 there's so much editing though. You don't need a pair of fake ladies to make a fake outcome. I think you're a but naive if you think big name beauty brands aren't fudging their results.
Hello L’Oréal?…immediately everyone should’ve known it was BS😂 I feel like people don’t understand what an “influencer” really is. The name literally spells it out for you 🤦♀️
As someone with combined anxiety and depression, I can tell you I would never even think of being rude to someone in customer service. They could spit on me and step on me and I would be like "I'm sorry you had to do that."
no cuz this is what i think of every time someone blames the shitty things they do on "social anxiety". im not mikayla's doctor so i cant say she doesn't have social anxiety or is *cough cough* lying *cough cough* about it, but based on her previous actions, to me it just seems like an easy scapegoat to garner sympathy and cover her rudeness up.
Absolutely. I’ve lived hand to mouth as a server and I’ve lived to where I could drop a $250 tip my own self. It’s not out of pity or to look good, it’s out of empathy of knowing my server isn’t being paid properly and having been there. Does that system suck? Yes, but if I’m sitting down to eat I’m actively participating in it.
Yup , that’s one way I judge the dudes Ive gone on dates w out to dinner , it’s so true. If they are rude to wait stuff or anyone for that matter or doesn’t tip I’m out!!!
First time watching one of your videos and you couldn't be more right about Mikayla. After all the stuff she has lied about and she still carries on like she's the queen it's so wrong. Thanks for the great content! I really enjoyed this video and look forward to watching more of your content :)
I love how the beauty guru community has been consistently the worst for like a decade now no matter the platform. The concentration of mean girls there is insane LOL
Jackie Aina has spoke about this on her channel. She talked about how hard it was to find genuine friends in the community, as well as speaking on some of the toxicity within the major guru circles.
tbh i feel like thats just the industry. wether its online or irl the makeup industry is full of drama, my moms been a makeup artist in the industry since like the 80s and she said theres always shit
@@beanii7339 Literally. A couple of my friends had to drop cosmetology school because of how weirdly competitive and mean everyone was. Either way I will stay highly entertained LOL

Saying her job is hard is actually hilarious in a way that makes me want to scream. I stand and lift heavy catering bags for 7-8 hours a day, frequently getting to work at 3am to get my orders out on time. Oh, and I’m 8 months pregnant. This is the first video of yours I’ve found, and I love your energy and humor and immediately subscribed. Can’t wait to continue to watch!
Thank you for this. So, based on just this 1 video (& having such similar opinions on this topic), you've got a new follower in me, lol
as a waiter and bartender, we can most definitely tell the difference between social anxiety and just a person being bitchy and acting entitled to hospitality staff
Most definitely, when I was a waitress and got groped nightly was that people with social anxiety? No and when I confronted them and they got mad at me, was it because they were anxious? No. It’s because they were shit human beings. (I was underage at the time too)
Cooper, I feel it is my duty to inform you that you are "poggers". Though I do not understand what this means, my grandchildren do say it to good things. Have a good day. - Ronald
Solid Thesis, Cooper. Best commentary I've seen yet on your wierdo channel 😁 As a Canadian millenial who studied linguistics, your description about accents homogenizing and blurring between regions is accurate AF. Especially how people think Canadians say "Aboot". 😒 I personally, I am not cut out to be an influencer 🤣 I don't consider it an easy job (not for me at least), just like life as a digital nomad isn't for everyone (but absolutely for me!). Also, I love your rococco interior decoration style genuinely deserves more credit and acknowledgement than it gets in the comments 😁
It's the voice of a grizzled cop character from a TV show set in Boston. He's a sort of functioning alcoholic and close to retirement. He's at the bar every episode. Actually...at A BAH.
Her complaining about working until 5:15 and waking up at 7 in the morning is hilarious to me. Even while she’s lying, she’s still working less than the regular person. Stupid
im 11 and i wake up before her, and usually get home from school at 4:50? she has nothing to complain about when she is more than a decade older than me.
Even the average high schooler has a more hectic schedule than her. What a fool 😂 Edit: now that I think about it, I would wake up at 5am to go to the gym, get to school by 7:50, get off at 3, go to work until 7, and do homework till 9 (on a light homework day). Like I genuinely can’t see what she thinks is so difficult about being an influencer.
Honestly I didn't know that was supposed to be a Boston accent. That's not anything like one of the 3 accents people 30-50, 50-70 or 70+ use. I thought it was supposed to be a New York impersonation..
Heck when I was 20 I had two jobs working 100+ hours. I would have killed to be an influencer. There are demands of their job but there are also crazy benefits.
I’m clearly very late to this party but thanks to yt recommended, you sir are my new obsession! This video is the perfect example of the irl out loud version of exactly how my brain functions, especially the sped up clips 😂😂😂
No, she’s not a year younger than me. I refuse to believe that. I thought she was like 35 💀 Also she legit sounds like she’s about to go “Bada bing bada boom I’m walkin ere” every other sentence, it’s such a caricature I’m not surprised it’s fake
I honestly think it's her makeup. I don't know anything about makeup but her chosen style just seems to make her look old to the point where it seems like it's on purpose.
I'm from Fall River but dated two men from Cambridge and both of them commented on my accent, which is closer to a NJ/NY accent. I say its a Fall River accent, lol. Makayla is from Rehoboth isnt she? which is like two towns over from me. That phony accent is ridiculous!! nobody from Boston or NJ sounds like that hot mess lmao. That's not even a FR accent! I don't notice my accent until I hear myself on video or whatever. Yes, there is a Boston, Rhode Island etc accent, but that right there that she has going on is just nonsense and annoying.
Loved your video and how you presented the information and your opinions. I like to watch some beauty infulencers like Jen Phelps. She is a mom and does beauty reviews, somehow finds the time. Lol I cannot deal with Mckayla, even before learning what kind of person she appears to really be. Thanks for calling her out. Well done!
Even if she's actually putting in the hours that she says she does, she is still making so much more than any of us putting in those same hours at our normal jobs.
thats what im saying. and its not like her job is difficult anyway. she sits in front of a camera and puts up on makeup that she was most likely sent. even if she worked 14 hour days, for the insane money she makes compared to the average person is ridiculous

she not only faked the mascara ad, there was another ad for a powder foundation where she filmed herself putting it on and it was so obviously liquid foundation. no powder foundation applies that opaquely.
there was the one with the got2beglued brow gel, there was one video where she said she didn’t like & another (sponsored) video that she said she loves it lol
If ur talking about the L’Oréal powder, if you apply it with a WET beauty sponge, it is HELLA coverage. It does NOT look good tho. Idk if it works on a bare face but I did it over liquid foundation and it’s not that bad. But it’s not natural looking & it IS cake face. You have to blend blend blend.

She speaks the truth. Being an influencer is so much harder. All I do is sit back, and play cards with my “doctor’s stethoscope” around my neck for the look. And never been SA’d at a work by a disgusting patient. She has it so much harder. I can’t. Lol. 🙄🙄🙄

Her saying her job is so hard is actually funny. I stand for 7-8 hours a day in the salon then go and work 4 hours at my second job just so my bills can get paid. Yes being a influencer has its own individual struggles but it’s not as hard as she’s trying to perceive it to br

Something I recently learned is that, an apology with an excuse in the middle is not an apology so blaming it on her social anxiety just isn't an apology.
My social anxiety doesn't let me on social media much less a bitch to someone I don't know. Ill think of one rude thing I said for the next 68 years and hate myself.
I just heard about this girl a few days ago and im already sick of her. when someone tells you who they are, believe them the first time - Mia Angelu(s)
a quick note on accents - i'm from appalachia, i'm 30, for a really long time i hid my accent because the stigma associated is so intense. i think a lot of young people in appalachia also hide their accents or code switch because of stigma and sometimes even internalized classism/stigma. i just wanted to comment and say that if you're a younger/gen z person from a unique culture that has an accent, don't be afraid to use it
I live in the South and when I was in high school I knew this girl who hid a really strong southern accent of hers for the majority of her life because people would assume she was incompetent or a stereotypical hick. She stopped hiding it during our senior year and I was so happy for her. I hope she’s doing well now🙂

Where I live, the Wendy’s is like strangely slow, almost every time I go people will leave the line before they get to the front, and although I’ve never been mean or rude to the staff sometimes I’ll be annoyed or impatient and you can tell by my body language that I want to get out of there, or I’ll say to him that it’s taking to long or something and my boy friend gets so anxious every time cuz he doesn’t want the staff to hear or see, he HATES confrontation, even when it’s not even confrontation lmao, that’s social anxiety, I think he would probably crawl into a hole and never come out if I was actually mean to anyone in customer service

Holy hell the amount of people crawling out of the cracks to say 'influencing is lying and totally expected' was INSANE 😱😱😱
It really sucked because a lot of them weren't even influencers, and it seems to have permanently damaged the pseudo relationship with influencers across the beauty side of the web.
Then the counter videos that came out saying that "No, influencers are supposed to be completely honest and just not take the brand deals they don't like."
Because the entire point of online influencing, was people describing their personal experience-- rather than yet another marketing scheme or shill.
You need to narrate Mikayla's life cause you do the best impression of her
My Issue isn't even the fact she lied. It's the fact that she made so many videos making fun of other influencers for being fake and lying about products and then turned around and did this.
Stupidity a hell of a drug
It was the same with the lashes

I’m just a rude person, and I still wouldn’t do that to someone who’s forced to listen and probably gets payed minimum wage, like bro..
it’s so weird because i have social anxiety and i could not be rude to a waitress if i wanted to because i just sit there and stutter my order at them while planning my funeral in my head. can’t even get enough words out to be rude
Lol exactly. If it's so terrible, then do the 9 to 5 you think is so much easier🤥
So true. Plus she has enough money she could probably take a LONG break from work in general. She’ll keep getting revenue from her products and videos. If it’s so tough, why not just give it a rest? She just loves to complain
Exactly, like go get a normal job then.
money and free stuff

Yes!! Not every negative trait is from mental illness! _Sometimes_ it can be an _explanation_ but… even then it’s still not an _excuse._
I just want people like her to stop blaming their bad behavior on anxiety. I have bad social anxiety and if it does one thing it is making me more friendly towards others. It turns me into such a people pleaser and I know for a fact that this is what many people with anxiety relate to as well.

@@bbymina idk how she survived school if she struggles waking up at 7am for a job on her phone
@@bbymina yesss😂
everyone has the right to complain but it gets annoying.
she is perfectly fine to complain about her job, because I do believe it has its downside as well.
Haha this!!
yeah and she looks much older not only her voice or makeup but her attitude.. i can't point the finger but I automatically thought she is over 40 lol
Seems like too much filler to me, idk
Its all that "work" she's been doing to cultivate that lovely Popeye sound 😂
A commander said she looks like she's cosplaying as a mid-30s housewife but I think she is the mid-thirties housewife cosplaying as her teen daughters instead of wondering where they get these styles from anyway while rocking their mom pony tail and T-shirt with long sleeves underneath
I subscribed to u after u did the video on Mikaela she's horrible! Omg her voice I can't stand it. Thnks for being supportive of 9 to 5 workers too!

Someone tried to tell me it would be so hard for her to fake an accent this long. Girl, let me point you in the direction of OG influencer Paris Hilton, who put on a baby voice for YEARS.
Or Elizabeth Holmes - I wonder if she's still putting that deep voice on in prison...
I do think she at times exaggerates the accent. I have been living in Massachusetts for close to 10 years and a lot of people have the same accent as her. I also know of people here who fake a more normal accent and their actual accent will come out ocassionally.
Hilary Baldwin
@walkingexistentaldread3079 Ohhhhh, now THAT should be talked about more. Lol
Gross af ❤

That sounds like bullshit. They literally have disclaimers on ads for product not being how it appears
@@missbeaussie Ads have been banned, companies have been sued etc. over usage of false lashes. Cosmetic ads have laws against misrepresentation, over-editing, using extra products and not disclosing that. Maybe do even a simple googling without just saying "I think that's bullshit."

I've always stood by the fact that you can easily judge a person's character based off of how they treat customer service reps, waiters, staff, etc.
this is so true.
