- (This is the correct version. My apologies!) World-dominating utility companies? Sounds farfetched. But there may be a little more reality that you'd expect in the seventh installment of the Final Fantasy series. A formerly unreleased episode that I've updated, check out Game Theory's second look at Sephiroth and the Midgar gang!
- Hry
So in 40-50 years we could actually end up looking back at FFVII thinking "holy cr*p they were right?!?"
Square Enix is pretty good at predicting the future so far. Hard to count them out.
Aberran Fox They are? How? When?
PikaLink91 Well they nailed the twin tower thing.
duh.. it is not difficult to see this kind of future coming.. if you are interested in economy and politics..
MuhMitAusrufezeichen Well excuuuuuuse me, princess..
Wha- Matt! 8 years ago and no theme song?! Wow I’m shookith
Lord Harpy that my guy what called quality
A few days ago, without ever having seen this video, I called Shinra "Shell", to explain a friend about their role in the world of FF7. Now I see this. Jesus.
+Vezonmodder It makes sense though. After all, fantasy tends to touch on topics, concerns and fears we have at the time. In '97, we were worried about pollution and oil companies, hence FF7. LOTR, we were worried about another world war. Hunger Games, we're worried about resources reaching everyone.
Katie Smith There's always some connection to the real world, intentional or not.
However, many of the more easy-to-notice parts in a lot of movies have always been relevant. Hell, to me, Sephiroth was one of the most relatable characters I've ever seen.
Not because of the time we live in or something, but simply because he seemed as bored and alienated from reality as I often am.
I gotta say, something like that really does more to me than the overall moral principles and questions in a story.
On point overall, though Mako is clearly influenced by nuclear energy as well, see the reactors, the mutated creatures that result from exposure, etc
Great comment!
Technically, those messages are supraliminal because, though they disappear quickly, you can still consciously comprehend seeing them. If they were truly subliminal, you would never even know they were there.
Hail King MatPat.
@zeekslider Never fear. They may censor my visuals, but they can't silence my voice. I'm already planning ways around it. If needs be, I can always make it a podcast. And I'm always open to the idea of an artist joining the show...I would just need to find one (hint to anyone out there)! Unlike most gaming shows, this one doesn't need to rely on actual game footage quite so heavily.
But the gun part does work as a gun... if you hit the trigger button at the right point when hitting an enemy, Squall does extra damage by firing the gun part just before he smacks them with the sword bit.
+Jordan3D jeah thats the click in the right moment to crit principle what this weapon is about
people really shouldnt skip the tutorials
Jordan3D Yazoo's gunblade also works
I know I'm late to the comment chain...but squalls gunblade and seifers....don't shoot bullets....they fire blanks....when you pull the trigger it fires a blank and vibrates the blade making the wound jagged and not good for the recipient...instead of a clean slice it would rip and tear more of the wound.
Matthew Pennella Well I'll be damned, you're right. Thanks for informing me of that, otherwise I would have gone on with the wrong idea for years to come!
even if it shoots blanks it still shoots therefore the gun Mechanic still works. blanks are still in bullet form.
Time to blow up some oil factories. AVALANCHE!
@Kytetiger This one was originally made before I had the theme music and intro. Even though I completely reworked the episode from its old version, I thought I would keep in the original music I had planned. Game Theory hasn't featured enough polka up to this point.
If you are unable to see a mixture of anti-corporatist, environmentalist, and existentialist themes conveyed throughout Final Fantasy VII, I suggest revisiting that game and paying closer attention to the story. There is nothing the least bit subtle about it.
Yeah, Final Fantasy was never that subtle about its themes.
Kurtis C. MY GOD, YOU MEAN IT IS GOVERMENT PROPOGANDA?!! LUCFJHFKJHCFKGHCYUHTCDGJHCJYTDCYICGKYJTCDKGCJYTDKYCGKJIYTCDJY
Kurtis C. It was as subtle as a punch to the face.
@@vagineerperson3066 Americans... Always worried about government propaganda. Yet not about *corporate* propaganda...
as an American i can confirm this to be true
Actually the lifestream is composed of the energy of the dead plants, animals and humans (souls in other ways of thinking). So...basically in the world of FF7, Shinra converted the energy/souls of every thing that ever lived into electricity. Imagine turning on a lamp that relies on the energy/soul of your dead relatives. "Hey Grandma! Can you give me a little more power?"
ha thanks gramps now i can play my 360.
William Russell
how do you know that? we humans are the youngest species. have we escvated any tape of fossils on titan. or even been there in person? not by sonar or drone set areas. there may have been life on titan at one time.
true but you can't rule out the possibility
of there once been life there on titan. there may
have been some thing that lived in thos pools of ethane or once did. that may be way there is so much oil on titan.
***** Titan I belive is the 42nd or some other number moon of Saturn.
William Russell And as always... some ignorant on CZcams with his EXTRAORDINARILY narrow definition of what constitutes life...
monsanto + shinra = dominion over all living things
shinsanto? *hides in bunker*
I come from the future and the gas is really expensive
I love how even in FF7 after the end of Shinra in Advent Children 2 years later Barrett sends Cloud a voice message saying he's struck more oil.. in that I see the whole world of FF7 repeating itself with oil instead on mako energy a couple of centuries on.
3:28
huh.. so they're worth a few sets of Diamond armor then?
We're all fucked when they R&D a Throw materia.
How can the least popular Game Theory be on one of the most popular games of all time?
Thank you! Ive been looking for ages for the title of the beverly hillibillies! Now I finally know it! Thank you!
Actually, Oil is in Final Fantasy VII. We know from the FFVII: AC movie. Barret says he's found an oil field, or something like that. If it was Mako, he wouldn't of been excited about making money from the oil.
:]
And then in Advent Children, Rufus tells Cloud "We've lived FORTY YEARS with the Mako in our regions and no sigh-" SPOILERS go watch Advent Children, it's awesome. And the quote isn't exact but honestly, people are on point with gaming worlds this day in age.
"Who need oil?" LOL I like to see their reaction to the bus being unable to pick them up.
I LOVE this show. The presentation is awesome and the content very refreshing and insightful. Keep up the good work!
I hope you kept watching
40 years worth of oil left... That's certainly in my life time.
wegeebro2 mine too but that isn't the major issue...
5:43 actually the gun on the gunblade does work. when you attack and if you press R1 at the exact right moment it shoots making your damage greater. so you can shoot it.
TheGameSharks that makes it even worse
Also gunblades are a real thing: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pistol_sword
Spongebob in the Sora Outfit made me cry XDD
"Running out of oil" in 40 years isn't the real issue as "Peak Oil" where the cost to recover oil from the earth has diminishing returns and we can no longer live the luxury lifestyles of this generation.
Add that in with the booming global population of 8 billion people and how the once underdeveloped nations are now creating a middle class to rival America, such as India and China.
Unless the human race get's lucky and discovers cold fusion or something, these next decades are going to be a great depression on steroids - especially if the fiat dollar collapses along with the EU, which looks like it is about to happen.
Electricity baby, solar energy too
you know in FF8 the gun sword did fire, when ur character ran up to attack if timed properly with a r1 or r2 it fires and adds damages
The gun portion works to give critical hits. And Squall never ever misses.
Ironically, after FF7 they search for new, clean energy providers and they find oil and use that instead as they feel its cleaner.
What??? 😂
technically, it is better than draining away the life of the planet. They could find a way to use instead of oil a bit later, but the planet will die if they continue using mako
I would like to see you take on the physics of the gunblade, particularly the reason the "gun" doesn't work. Hypersonic vibration blade?
BLEaveable Except that, in the game, the gun DOES work. It works perfectly, and you use it in battle constantly
Power companies won't usurp the government. It's way easier to just buy the government and tell it what to do.
Yeah, companies or secret "deep states" would *never* make their rule explicit in a *takeover* or a revolution since they benefit far more from implicit control.
I'm gonna watch this week every week. It's so awesome!
thank you matpat for giving me anxiety over a possible energy crisis
sooooo just a fun fact, a character at the end of final fantasy x2 has the name of shinra and he says that he is researching the farplane data and how much energy it has
Thats because, my good friend.
FINAL FANTASY X AND VII ARE IN THE SAME UNIVERSE! Just in different times, and VII is in another planet. If I remember right, Shinra created space travel. Is not a fun fact, is a real fact.
*****
actually that was just a joke said by the producers XD
but they later thought they can actually tie in stories across worlds, hence the world of the versus epic was born. also please wait a little more until we share new news about ff 15.
Noctis Caellum Wait, ff15 is tied to another ff?
***** That's the problem with multiple universes....
likely to 7 and my theory got back up when naora got shuffled in recently
I thought of this years ago and told some friends about it. An now there is a video, so I'm not crazy! :D
Even though this is about 3 years old now. The Gunblade Squall uses actually is used as a gun. Whenever you attack, if you press R1, it will shoot off. Also, In Kingdom Hearts, he does shoot from the gun as well. And to those saying oil is already in FFVII, the video is saying how Mako is related to Oil, in terms of how much it can control the world. Not being the oil of the game.
To celebrate 10years of GT, I decided to re-watch the entire series from start to finish.
Will Matt ever look into the Squall is dead theory?
Extremely unlikely. He makes his own theories, and doesn't usually cover already existing ones (with a few exceptions).
The theory that makes zero sense and has been debunked by Square themselves?
Bakorafanboy13 it's been debunked over and over again and didn't have any evidence to begin with
Hi 2011 😂
Oil and coal are also present in Final Fantasy 7. Barret himself and Marlene were from a village that had their most outcome by getting coal up from underground.
And later Barret is in search for coal and oil to fuel their machines
Buuut everything else, awesome work like always XD
The gun on Squall's gunblade does work! You press R1 in the game when you are attacking someone to activate it.
What do you mean the guns mounted on Gunblades don't work? Because they absolutely do ... With both Squall and Seifer you can score a guaranteed critical hit by pressing R1 on impact because they actually pull the trigger as they slash enemies. It's explained in the game that gunblades are melee weapons, so they need to be at point blank to shoot properly, because more firepower would destroy the blade as the powder ignite.
didn't Kira use the death note to kill you. how you on youtube?
god145 No he didn't. Rem the Shinigami "killed" me.
L Lawliet *Is liking this L already*
I think the point is that they are melee weapons... they don't work as ranged weapons which a gun generally is... yes, the trigger works, and it shoots you if you are close enough to get hit with the blade at the same time anyway, but that's not exactly 'working as a gun', since you can't SHOOT people with it (at least not without stabbing them first...)
Jesse Finnerty The French used a long rifle with a dagger mounted on the tip. A bayonette I think it's called. The goal was to stab the enemy like a spear and then shoot the enemy. Legit guns. Same principle.
i feel like my iq grows everytime i look at your theory videos :)
From what I understand, IQ is a static thing. Your intellect, knowledge or "wisdom" might change, but your capability or "potential" to learn is more or less hardcoded. ;)
fendelphi I suppose certain "status effects" such as being drunk probably temporarily lowers this.
fendelphi IQ itself is static, but due to the nature of how we test it, it can come out differently depending on circumstances. Exposure to similar problems, how you feel that day, etc.
That is actually a bad thing. Game Theory is actually silly (albeit entertaining) since it use the most poor practice in logic and stretching the fact to suit a certain narrative.
Whether that is intentional or not, I wouldn't know. I find myself facepalm at all the leaps toward connection/conclusions on most videos, I do have to say they are well done for the most part especially when tricking you thinking it makes logical sense when it really does not.
Neosaigo That is why it is a "theory". It is nothing factual, but trying to come up with ideas that might be plausible.
I'd like to make a note that the gun blade was able to be used as a gun. Whenever you attack with squall, you can press R1 at the right time to "shoot". This also works with his limit break.
Actually, the "Gunblade" is a real thing called a "pistol sword."
Further, the heaviness of the "pistol" makes them unwieldy as a firearm, though a close range shot fired combined with the recoil violently moving the blade as it strikes makes for some pretty brutal results (albeit an impractical weapon overall).
+TheGameTheorists, Daayum, I'm working in ARAMCO today
Vishnu Aiyappan That sucks dude.
so either deal with the last oil company holding dominion over whatever is left of the oil market, or get killed by an asteroid?... how close are we to living in space?
We can already live in space.
It's just expensive as fuck.
How ever, if you want to know how close we are having cheap means of travelling in to space, that's only about 5-10 years away. Actually, there already are couple of prototypes that work quite well when it comes to travelling in to space.
But that wouldn't really be an issue either as much as the main question at hand. Do we have enough space to live in space?
Granted we have enough cars for everyone to go around but at the current moment, we just simply lack enough space stations for everyone to go around.
Not to mention we heavily lack of resources to maintain life for 8billion people in space even for a year, let alone 8million so we would need to resort in to cannibalism really fast if we wanted to survive.
*****
Around 20-50 million dollars a launch.
and easily 10billion to build a space station that can hold more than handfull of people.
Virgin Galactic's been offering seats for 200,000 bucks once they get their shit done, which is in about 2-5 years, so that's little cheaper but still way more than what average Joe could afford.
You forgot about WEAPON... earth gets pissed off eventually if we take enough life energy from it, then it fights back with Godzilla-type monsters...
Jesse Finnerty ah yes, the 3rd option where the planet somehow makes a super monster that kills us all off.
Oriru Bastard We can _not_ live in space right now. You're confusing space with upper Earth orbit (which we can't live in either).
There is no autonomous way to currently reside in space. Any "space" colony would be reliant on a stable, industrially active planet Earth.
Literally nothing, and I mean nothing, can be procured for human life realistically or sustainability with current technology in space. Not food, not medicine, not oxygen, not water, etc.
This is to say nothing of the dangers of radiation, the long-term health damage caused by zero-g environments (which can partially be counter-acted by a perpetually spinning ship, itself not easy to accomplish) and any technical failures which might occur which couldn't be solved autonomously on-board (i.e., what do you do when something breaks down and you don't have a spare part?)
Most of the solutions of these issues are theoretical, not real, and some still don't exist, to say nothing of problems we haven't thought about or encountered yet.
We can't even colonize other planets in this solar system realistically, not yet.
We're easily a century away from the technological capabilities to make space colonization a feasible human activity, let alone an affordable or safe one. And all current indications say this is not going to be a particularly great century as it is, the very existence of industrial societies will be put to the test in this century.
So no, as of right now, there is no Planet B. We are screwed if we fuck up the Earth. We cannot live in space or on other planets, and we won't be able to any time soon.
2:28 well done, you just made the fastest plane! XD
Final Fantasy VII does seem to tackle a lot of serious real-world topics. Just look at North Corel, a town that was once successful due to its coal mining but was forced to let Shinra build a mako reactor there because coal became obsolete and the town had no money. (Of course, the reactor exploded, and the town became ruined and even poorer.)
In the game, to get to the Gold Saucer, you have to go through North Corel to take the cable car. The Gold Saucer is the most extravagant place in the game, where rich people (judging by the high cost of getting in) gamble, race chocobos, watch fireworks, and generally have a good time. The poorest town in the game is _right next to_ this paradise of fun for the rich. That's pretty thought-provoking.
You also begin the game as terrorists with no thought to collateral damage. Cloud is a complete mental case who punches Aeris in the face while she tries to reason with him, Cid is a wife beater, Barrot's a single dad with anger issues, Tifa's tits are hu... oh that's unrelated.
Really one of the most thought provoking games ever created.
Roll out the barrels?
DO AN AILERON ROLL!
No......DO A BARREL ROLL
Matthieu Langford Lol, just saw one of your comments on the video... Anyways, just press Z or R twice, and see what happens.
Dieu DeMort RR... Nothing happened.
The gun-blade does have a functional gun. If you press X at the right point in his swing you do extra damage coupled with a gun sound and mini explosion. Is that not the gun-blade firing?
EDIT: Yes and no... The gun blade doesn't actually fire bullets or projectiles at all. Pressing R1 at the right time, simply discharges (or fires) the weapon, causing a chainsaw-like effect through vibrations in the blade. So actually, it's more like an electric meat carver lol... The only difference is, instead of using electricity to oscillate the blade, it uses the kinetic energy generated by the force of the discharge. This triggered discharge is the mini explosion we see and _technically_ is the gun-blade "firing"...
shady4091 Yes it is, but you press R1
Whatever, it's only been 10 years...
shady4091 I wasn't being an ass about it. Just letting you know....
Cody Barnes I know lol. Neither was I.
+shady4091 You press X on the PC version. and G on the steam version.
0:27 that pic killed me.RIP MeDied of laughter.
I heard that Rocko's Modern Life reference, well done Matt Pat
looks like you did never pressed R1 to use the gun on the gun blade ;3 (go play ff8 and press R1 while squall do melee attack) make sure u do a good timing ;3.
This is Final Fantasy 7 not 8......
Geothermal1159 of course in relevance to the gunblade mention
Geothermal1159 MatPat mentioned specifically how the gunblade in FF8 doesn't work as a gun. That's what he was replying to.
Yes. Hail MatPat as king... HAIL MATPAT
And if you read that in the "HAIL HYDRA!" tone of voice, congratulations, you win.
alexjonezNH lool i watched captain america yesterday where he slept for 70 years and woke up in NYC forgot the name of it tho.....
SsjGodGoku Saiyajin I think it was called Captain America.
Youa Numbah Oneah Racist I know dat i mean its captain america:(something here)
I admit I may have known what you mean, and was being a mite facetious. it's (Something here): The First Avenger, by the way. Although the 1990 movie also had him frozen, and was just called Captain America.
As a special note, the Gunblade is actually not meant to be SHOT. The handle offers a unique way to wield the blade while the actual trigger system...is used to fire off a blast only. Basically, the damage you would get from the backblast is sent out the front to whoever your attacking. That means cuts, possible blown off skin, and definite burn damage.
that was vVERY well put together..
Uhm... you should google gun-blades. They were used in the war of 1814.
There's so many final fantasy's, but there's nothing "final" about them! They just keep going on and on and on! Not that theres anything wrong with that.
The name "Final Fantasy" is actually somewhat of a joke. Back when Square first released it, they were going bankrupt, and they released and named their last game "Final Fantasy" as a last hope, or final fantasy, that they would make money. They did, and have since made multiple squeals that have all had major success as well. The more ya know~
Thats awesome. Didn't know that.
Erak Bryant Not to mention that the game is always about the world ending somehow.
deathXbyXlight Most, if not all, RPGs involve you saving the world, though I personally think some of the villains are justified in certain games.
Yeah I agree.
i hate how nobody ever tries to understand how the gunblades from final fantasy 8 work. they are not guns with a massive blade attached they are blades with an accelerator attached to improve cutting power with out requiring the wielder to be strong enough to put the equivalent force into the swing. the gunblades are literally a blade on a pivot that uses the force of the "bullet" to increase swing speed and force which is why pulling the trigger too early or too late will not cause an increase in damage, because the extra force will either change the angle of the blade before the cut has started or the force of the shot will cause the handle to shift rather then the blade if there is not enough momentum after the cut has been started and the overall force of the swing was already absorbed by the target.
Thanks for forgiving me, and I'll check out those writings. They sound pretty interesting.
even if there was only 40 years of oil left wich i doubt then in those 40 years we will all have electric cars
Which are predominately powered by power plants which use oil to generate power.
Zuriki yeah and that fails again XD but maybe we can create artificial oil
Garnilator
The "real" problem I'd say is that alternative energy sucks. Its simple chemistry. The amount of energy you get out of alternatives is simply insufficient. We will keep using oil until the day we learn to harvest pure hydrogen from other planets.
And there's plenty of it left. 400+ years in fact. Its not, repeat, NOT going to run out in YOUR lifetime. Period.
TheHolyDarkness i said wich i doubt about the oil
Garnilator didn't read all of it but thanks for the back up
lol im a manager of marketing in saudi aramco :P and we are NOT evil
I’ve been obsessed with FFVII for over half my life, written essays about it and whatnot. I’ve always held that it was the most realistic in terms of current events: profits over planetary health, literally out of sight out of mind in terms of the impoverished. I’m definitely saving this video for further reference.
I looked this up to see if this was always a theory because this hit me a couple minutes ago.
I clicked the dislike button just to be the 100th one to click the dislike button. I donot dislike this video. Just saying.
Well at least you have your priorities straight XD
Apparently MatPat didn't know the gun works on the gunblades... that's what the "Trigger" but does. Duh.
The gun from the gunblade does in fact work. I remember in Final Fantasy 8 you had to press the right trigger/bumper w/e it was called as you swinged and a second hit would score on the screen after a shot was heard.
Gotta love the intro songs to every episode. (not the main theme song, but that's still cool.)
Seriously glad I'm not the only person who thought the same thing about Shinra, Mako & today's usage of oil/electricity .__.
Sonic's Chaos, as hinted by what he's saying when it appears. It shows the earth inside it's head as he says "in short, a world in chaos.".
I've never played the sonic games myself, but I've seen it around.
Nice to know you know about Comet Apophis. Fun fact, Apophis is the egyptian god of chaos, so we have about a .0000000000000000000000000000000000001 chance of the comet hitting us, plus we have backup plans, but there;s always that small amount of random chaos that could occur
Fun to go back and watch an old one
powerful observance lol i like how you played the shinra music towards the end lol that songs sooooo #worlddominationlike
I miss this kind of content...new ones can't compare to this
I like the evil Shinra music at the end made it seem like doom will befall us
great analogy @ kelly
I must watch this show every week. Matt Patt is our king. lol
You should tackle the theory of the gunblade. It's supposedly does function as a gun, but allegedly the gunshot is intended to vibrate the blade as it strikes to deal even more damage.
OMG the background images, where do you find this stuff?
The gun part *does* work on a Gunblade. You can shoot while you slice an enemy in combat.
The gun on the gunblade does work! You use it to do extra damage by hitting R1 when you hit the enemy.
Bro I miss this
To be fair, I think the gun part of the FF8 gunblade was to increase the cutting power of the blade, but was used sparingly since it wore the blade down faster.
Gunblades do work as guns. the blade is thicker along the top edge, just enough to encase the barrel, the opening of which is just before the top curve. It is fired as you strike. awhile back i met some guy who made a functional one in real life. it was wicked
Wasn't it during Advent Children that Barrett is overseeing the construction of an oil pipeline? It's funny that they have both this obvious representation of our real world oil in the game, and then actual oil itself in the sequel movie.
It's almost like Advent Children was stupid and unnecessary.
Quick correction on the sword gun. The gun does work when you press R1 at the right time when, attacking a creature, fires and does additional damage. Really got a lot out of the video though. My favorite Game Theory by far.
that song at the end made me almost fall asleep so maybe you really are hypnotizing people ... or it could just be that i had a long long night (wink .. winnkk) anyway nice video keep doing your thing man
Did you play Final Fantasy 8? The gun works lol its the Trigger during battle, if you hit it right it does a critical hit every time.
BUT I still love this theory, I've always loved Final Fantasy bc even though its a fantasy world with great characters, gameplay and music (which I've seen performed live, honestly you should too its AMAZING) they always seem to have a lingering reality to them. They bring out the world's problems sutbley in their gameplay.
Please do another Final Fantasy game theory! ❤ I would love it so much!
Actually, the original concept of the gunblade (circa FF8, redesigned for FF13) was that pulling the trigger would release a shock-wave vibration, that would cause a cut from the blade to be much nastier (as it's not nearly as clean), which explains the occasional "critical" damage, if the player presses the button (pulls the trigger) at the right moment. It did not work on magic, but an interesting take on the mechanics of a firearm.
You also have the oil companies buying out patents for anything that can either replace oil or ways for people to use less oil and make it go further, and supposidly those who don't comply disapear under masterious cercomstances.
look up the air fule injection system and some of the stories behind that one as an example.
That's 40 years worth of easily accessed oil, Matpat. And those estimates were drawn up before a giant reserve was found in Australia.
To be honest, we've only had 40 years of oil left since the last 40 years. no one really means we will run out of fuel in that time, it's simply the difference between resources and reserves.
An interesting theory. But as for the gunblade's gun-part not working, I always thought that the gun part was some kind of taser that would apply a shock to the opponent when the blade came in contact with them. Of course I could be wrong.
What do you mean with the gun doesn't work ? if you press R1 (on psx) when you hit with the sword you ALSO shoot! D:
Gunblades existed, but they were only prestige weapons aristocrats had crafted for them to look cool. Mostly.
With gun accuracies at the time though, they could have been on par with the normalsies anyway.
Maybe take a look into that some day? There's a small arms museum in "Rothenburg ob der Tauber" in Germany having a load of exposés of gunblades.
The town is known for it's medieval accuracy as it is still mostly intact, and even the inner city McDonalds has to keep its "M" in bronze instead of lightbulbs to keep the general look of the town intact.
I know this is old MattPat but apparently NASA has now said we have nothing to fear Aphopos for at least another 100 years.
Sun, that song at the end was some fire.
/end
technically the gun part does work, proven by the trigger button needed to be pressed while slashing, and also in a later game (Parasite Eve 2) where they added the gunblade as an easter egg, and it was capable of both slashing (minor dmg), shooting (minor dmg), and triggerslashing (huge ass dmg, like it originally was used as)
I love this game so much but I got stuck in crisis core on the sephiroth boss fight (I think) or the part where you look through the key holes :)
I was gonna say something when he said that but you did it beautifully :D
