Two things, when they say “if he even is a man.” It can also refer to the fact that his species is unknown, for all we know he could be an alien. Okay I don't know if I'm in the right for pointing something out 9 years after the fact but the whole finger situation cant work with pyro. In Pyros description it says he cant talk due to his lungs being destroyed by the asbestos mask he wears constantly. Pyro suffers from constant Asbestos poisoning. Why does this matter? Well one of the first signs of Asbestos poisoning is actually puffy fingers meaning it's very possible his fingers aren't naturally like that.

Actually pyros vision is the mask cause if you look close enough the mask has words on it "Optical mask" and it makes it so you see stuff like how if you drink. And in the air in the pyros vision its actually a male symbol if you look enough, or maybe the game designers made pyros gender a mystery so girls wouldn't get mad at them for them not adding a girl. And in the game files you can see pyros face.

Yeah although he has been “canceled” before but 1. At the time the transgender and non bianary community was really not as prominent and out there as it is now a days and 2.
