      City were not in fear, City players were simply tired.
      Don't be a hater, be reasonable, be a proper human being and analyse the match properly from a neutral point of view.
      Atletico played against 17th place Mallorca on Saturday in the La Liga and City played their direct title rival on Sunday in the EPL and then they had to travel to Madrid.
      So City players did a great job of defending their 1 goal lead and qualified for the semifinal.
      Previous versions of City would have buckled under the pressure from Atletico and their fans but this City is built different.
      This is new Man City. This City is not flaky. This City know how to manage and grind out a result.
      City is not just a one trick pony anymore. City is not just about scoring 4-5 goals everytime. City now know how to keep a clean sheet under immense pressure from the opposition.
      Give credit where it's due.

      You all are clueless really. Atleti has always been known as an attacking team. Attack is in their DNA. What they didn't do well is defense. They can score 3 goals but equally can let past 4 goals in a match. In came Simeone and changed all that and Atletico got results. It landed them 2 La Ligas 2 Europas and Champions League Final twice.
      They curbed their Attacking instinct so that they get the result by not conceeding goals. So in case of Man City, Atleti has always have that ability to fight back and Attack. It was just a matter of when to do it. They wouldn't risk it in the 1st leg. They kept it for their Home Leg. But because they've conceded 1 goal to minimize risk of falling 2-0 they've decided to All Out Attack in the 2nd Half. As you all have seen we've BROKEN City's passing game and sent them to resort to the 'Dark Arts' themselves. We've DONE that to Pep's barca and Bayern Munich way before. Simeone and Pep were no stranger to each other in The Champions League or La Liga. In fact it was Simeone's Atletico that managed to contain Messi Barca in certain matches.
      Simeone is cautious and a Master Pragmatist but that just belies the True Attacking Power of Atletico de Madrid. We have always know how to Attack.
      Didn't Kiko, Vieri, Hasselbaink, Forlan, Aguero, Fernando Torres, Falcao, Diego Costa, Griezmann, Joao Felix ring any bell ??

Everyone here knows they have world-class players in their team but they play like they play because the coach wants them to play like that, it's their identity and you never hear one of their players complain, on the contrary they give it their all. English people need to relax a bit, it's not like every english team is playing good football or "tiki-taka" which they don't even know what it means they think any possession based play style is called tiki-taka which is not. Graham used to play a defensive type of football and he is hailed by the arsenal fans because it worked and he won titles. Man utd fans complain because their team don't show grit and fight in games like they used to but when atleti do it, it's anti-football. If I remember correctly, Atletico has more european pedigree than man city. There isn't one way to play football. English fans need to relax, i've seen atletico play like this since Simeone came in, but I never complained, we had games where we dominante the possession, have 20 shots and score none...but, we never complain because we know who we're up against. And any crying on social media isn't going to make them change, we just have to roll with it. So, chill. Outside of the annual slip up against Brighton, Norwich, or another mid to lower tier EPL team, it's resulted in them getting torn to shreds. Why would Simeone, who likes a compact, organized formation, open up and leave his team exposed for City to slap them by 3+ goals. EPL pundits don't get it. Compare ATM to Man C, similar size clubs or circumstances but different routes to get where they are. Man C bought the beautiful game, bought Pep, players, bought coaching staff, La Masia scouts/coachs & their academy. Man C like ATM were overshadowed by the clubs in their city that were the most known & biggest in the world.
    ATM didn't buy success, the money they have is through their success. They have achieved such success because of hard work, grit & had to be dirty to win. To compete against Real Madrid, they had to develop such a mentality. Man C didn't have to fight or bleed to compete against Man U, they just bought, bought till they competed but surpassed Man U.
    ATM have fans, manager & most players who struggled with the team. Of course "they can't understand" as ATM fans chanted, EPL no longer has that. Even NUFC is getting saved by money, not hard work or unity.

    Imagine if Atleti won the tie. The English press and media (and probably fans) would've gone crazy and hating Atleti for eternity. The amount of hate from the English press and media is just ridiculous. Nicole says fans were applauding Simeone and the team like he's some kind of messiah. So by Stevie's perspective, the fans are either crazy or stupid. What do you want? Do you want to dismantle the team and put Simeone behind bars? Every manager has he's own style and Simeone's style is this and he got results with it. The only thing missing is the UCL which I hope they win it next year or in the near future. I know a lot of people who became Atleti fans when Simeone became the coach and started to get results. Simeone is payed to get results not to play beautiful and fancy football. Now I'm not saying he's style is the best and I like to see them attack more but that's something they need to figure it out. Simeon does play defensive when he doesn't need to but also when he tried playing attacking it didn't work out, until he put Hector Herrera and that was clear how he controlled the midfield allowed the entire team ti attack, he didn't have his midfielder so ofc he would default to defensive football and at the end Herrera not playing I was surprised they pushed Man city back so much, why couldn't the whole team play like that always.

    No sane individual only talks about real madrids second game only. The first real madrid game, they were terrible vs. Psg. In atleticos first game, terrible was their plan from the beginning. Real madrid pressed much better and attacked much better in their second game because they knew they were terrible. While atletico in their second game had the same plan almost the entire game. Thats the difference.

    When Pep came to England they were so critical of his style of play and now it funny to see English fans complaining that ATM is using English identity to solve there problems. I remember statements like “ EPLis so physical and that wouldn’t be a foul in EPL. Now all of a sudden English fans and press talking about ATM is be dirty And they are not playing attacking and possession football.. English teams over recent yrs are adapting Spanish way of playing and acting like they invented possession and attacking football.

    Dear Frank. Times change and humans and the games they play evolve! Not long ago we were not able to go watch a game in England because of the hooligans. Now it is different, and better. The fact that you equate Atletico to a time when you and Craig played...wake up and realize we are not playing to break players ankles. Atletico went too far, and I, like Craig, am delighted they are out.

      Regardless of what you call change happening in football; don’t you think some people miss the old kind of play.
      I miss it and I wish my team can show some aggression as Atlético.
      I’m not saying it’s the best way but football can’t change wholly without holding on to some of it’s past.

    • @masogabi
      @masogabi Před 2 lety

      @@abebeone7526 Dear Abede. What 'old kind of play' are you referring to? Maradona had to leave Spain because they broke his ankle. Its not that in Italy at the time, they were 'nice', but there was not this extreme type of play. I certainly like Atletico and their passion. Before last night I also liked Simeone and how he embodied this. But they went too far in my opinion. Playing with passion is great, and yes, I wish more teams played with this passion. But why not mimick the passion of Klopp, or Conte? Simeone's players are obviously being asked to go that far. This ceases to be our beautiful game, in my opinion, and becomes quite 'ugly'.
      I also accept when a team decides to 'play physical' to make the other team feel a bit of strength. But there is a point where this needs to stop and Simeone and Atletico didn't realize that they were going too far. In my opinion there needs to be a line and the referees need to uphold this. So when Atleti, or another team push this limit, they should be down to 8 or less players. How well would that strategy work!? Thanks for your thoughts!

    • @abebeone7526
      @abebeone7526 Před 2 lety

      @@masogabi Maradona isn’t a good example,he left Spain to Italy which was one of the dirtiest leagues by then in terms of tackles.
      I understand your reasoning but why should he play like Klopp and Conte?
      He made his name as Diego Simeone and you can see the fans of Atlético like him that way. He has put Atlético on the map of football.
      I don’t see why he should change because outsiders want to see a so called beautiful game.
      Bielsa played beautiful football and his team got trashed heavily till he lost his job.
      People seem to forget that fans may want entertainment but the managers are under enormous pressure to win.
      Again I’m not saying it’s the best of footballing standards but who define those standards. In my opinion,it’s win at all cost.
