In this game Realmadrid had an xg of 2.6 and city 1.3. Possession was only 53:47 to city. Both teams had same number of shots(15). I just don't understand this narrative that city were dominant the whole game when they clearly weren't. The only time city were dominant was the 15 minute period after they scored. They had significantly more possession and the 2 grealish chances. Apart from that madrid was the better team with more possession and more chances

I think the significance of the midfield 3 of Kroos, Modric and Casemiro not being on the pitch at the end is being understated. It felt like the changing of the guard, seeing them all in the technical area alongside Marcelo.
