- In a bit of a continuation of my carpet installation, this is how I installed the center floor console in LUMPY, our 1967 Ford Mustang. It's certainly not great but it does stay still and looks decent. Certainly better than just sitting on the shelf in the garage. Plus it looks nice in the car.

The shifter with a factory floor console had a metal tab welded to it so you can attach a white plastic rod to it and the shifter position indicator so when you put in park , reverse or drive , it lights up what position your in . I welded on a tab for mine to work . Trying to find a factory shifter with that tab is hard nowadays.
THAT BUBBLE LIGHT IS FOR THE BARN DOOR STORAGE AREA LIGHT
The light you did not know about goes up in the rolling door storage unit..
Thanks!
Thanks for that. I was wondering where mine goes😆👍
Would y ou happen to know if a 677 mustang am radio 8 track player will fit the hole in the lower console that had originally come with just a am radio?
No idea on that one. Sorry.
The nuts screw on inside the storage
Do you know if you have to drill holes in the floor if the car didn't have a console?
If the car didn't come with a center console, then yes, (if I remember right) you'll need to find a way to attach it to the body.
How did you get the console over the shifter
It's been a year but if I remember correctly, I shifted into either neutral or drive then took the handle off the shifter (there's a tiny set screw holding it in place). From there, it's a little tricky but you should be able to slide it over a little easier.
That homemade piece looks like it was made out of an old vhs tape storage box.
Why make a video if you don't know what you're doing?
Why not?
