36:15-55:57 Episode 3 with Jack Manifold - Komedie
putting soap in your kid’s mouth is a ridiculous punishment that used to be huge in the U.S.
genuinely absurd that it was ever tolerable, and i’m sure there’s plenty of families that still do it.
blew my mind when i first heard about it.
My parents used to make me brush my teeth with soap if I swore or said something they didn't like to "wash out my fithy mouth"
My mom made me do it all the time and I thought it was normal omg
My aunt put soap in my mouth for cussing once and I didn’t do it in front of her again. Seemed pretty effective to me 🤷🏼♂️.
I remember my mom trying it when my sister first started to swear. I couldn’t stop laughing , started my mom laughing, and my sister too even tho she was crying with a bar of soap in her mouth. Failed all around & never happened again.
I dunno what’s worse bar of soap getting in your teeth or the liquid soap right to the back of the throat. Both sound awful.
Not so fun fact, super nanny posted a book about autism and I kid you not the first chapter was called “Your diagnosis, how to get over the worst news of your life” like bro you’ve been diagnosed with autism not fucking cancer XD
Really? that's crazy, she should do a collab with Sia
Would've loved to see how she'd handle autism
She's not a good person to listen to, believes in a ton of childcare and family abuse myths.
@@theonionsystem7779 Judging by the shit in that book not very well by my guess XD
@@finitoackermann there was an autistic kid cant remember what season or family but I kind of remember it and I think she did it quite well, also has been a ADHD child as well I am sure too
I did a quick look to see if I could recognise one of the "violent games" that is censored.
Its Shadow the Hedgehog
CAN YOU SEE ALL OF ME?
@@SolEmeralds18 WALK INTO MY MYSTERY? STEP INSIDE AND HOLD ON FOR DEAAR LIIIIIFE!
LMAOO I can’t believe they considered that violent.
Let me guess, Shadow’s got a gun?
@@loboqueso5392 He does. I haven’t seen much gameplay but all I know is that the gun doesn’t seem to be used much. May be used in later levels, and even then, there’s no blood.
Literally the most “mature” thing about the game is that Shadow says “damn” one time.
It’s that infamous “the damn chaos emeralds” line.
25:34 that’s why the kids are so violent and angry. Imagine what he’s like when no one’s around. That may be where those scabs and bruises come from.
perfect example at 26:31, dude needs to control himself lmao
Then the mum fed him soap on camera and defended it. What does she do off camera?
Yes I’m glad someone pointed it out, having an instinct reaction to hit a kid w a fork bc they threw one at you I’d terrifying. Kids hit bc they can’t express themselves, if that grown as man can’t express his feelings without hitting, he shouldn’t have had any kids
Yup literally all of this thread.
He looks like he’s biting his lip out of stress bless 😭
Super nanny is responsible for making me never have kids

@@firirk4150 my mum and dad were 16 when I was born bro

funny that she’s concerned that video games could make the children to angry and violent but their dad smacking the 2 year old is fine and not something that could influence the kids in any way.
Supernanny has spoken on behaviours like that from the parent affecting the children in other episodes
@@Sh12penBut not this one? She should be more consistent
@@a.n4031 you never know, it could have just not made it into the final edits of the episode. The editing consistency does vary some episodes as one time, she was encouraging a family to throw away the pacifiers the 5 year olds were still sucking for the sake of their teeth which the parents did, but by the end of the episode, they show the family in a car ride and the children were seen still with the pacifiers.
even funnier that countless studies have shown video games don't cause violence at all, and in fact, generally makes gamers more well adjusted and calm.
In America, it’s honestly not common now but when this was filmed, putting soap in a child’s mouth was not that uncommon. So they could “clean their mouth” after saying bad words.
Yeah. I read about it in Diary of a Wimpy Kid and was shook XD
I WAS GONNA SAY I HOPE IM NOT THE ONLY ONE😅
I grew up early 2000 (1997 baby) and I remember putting a soap bar in my mouth for copying my mother swear, like I still remember I copied her and she punished me. Now thats a "do what i do not what i say"
Such a terrible practice. Punishing a child is one thing, harming them is a whole other.
Soap is scran I don’t know why people are saying it’s bad
I knew a family of six kids and the mom said it was because she "liked babies" and i can only pray she was kidding. Regardless of the reason they had six kids. There was constant financial stress and the older kids got parenting responsibilities shoved onto them. It just isn't fair to be making life haphazardly
Honestly though.
I feel like once you get to 4 kids it's already too much. Even if you have the money for that many kids, how good is the quality of your parenting going to be if it's split between that many?
This is a big problem. Too many people have kids just because they feel like it or it's something you are expected to do, not realizing it's an 18-year commitment and you are raising a PERSON. The people that do it because they like babies especially annoy me because they seem to grow tired of their children as soon as they hit age 2. Disgusting.
I have 7 siblings ._.
@@tikaepixwhom666 is your family mormon? 💀 My boyfriend has 6 siblings and he's got one of those rich Mormon families so they all got decent care growing up

I once researched this, the production of Supernanny USA involved the shipment of 40-50 black cabs to the US. These were driven to filming locations so supernanny could fly from place to place and always be filmed coming out of a London cab

I watched Supernanny a lot with my family growing up. I kept in mind the ways kids should be disciplined, and so did my brother. When my mom had 2 more kids after me and my brother grew up, me and him noticed our mom doesn't do what Supernanny does. When my brother had to babysit our sisters a lot before he moved out, he implemented the discipline we saw on Supernanny. When I visited, I noticed my sisters listened to my brother more often than our mom. They would act spoiled and walk all over my mom. But with my brother, they knew they had to do as he said even when they didn't want to. It's wild what healthy discipline can do 😅
I was the same. My parents gave up after the 4th kid so I learned how to discipline my little siblings from that show lmao
my parents tried to implement her methods, except i was a normal kid who barely did anything except cry now and again like a regular kid, so i never understood why i was being punished with the naughty chair
@janaekelis well part of the naughty chair is explaining to the kid why they are in the naughty chair. Doesn't sound like they followed it right. Also, you shouldn't be in a naughty chair just for crying. That sucks, I'm sorry :/
@idreamed_adream thank you, it's fine. It's part of parenting in coloured families to suppress having too much emotion. crying and being frustrated is especially a no-no. if i have kids, i wouldn't raise them this way, though
Ah yes, "healthy discipline" such as abusing children by putting soap into their mouths and hitting them. If you need to employ intimidation tactics to get children to behave youre not an adult, youre a bully
I love how to dad hits the kids and blames the child who got hit instead of punishing the other one but games are the reason they're violent.
I've never laughed so much at the frequent mentions of "p**do density".
Pedensity

1. Every single day i love Cam more and more. He just seems like the sweetest boy!
2. Watching them be horrified by beatings and soap in the mouth was kind of shocking. That stuff really used to be normal over here
No because the thing is he wasn’t even getting his mouth washed out he was just straight up eating it I think
The parents of the 6 kids saying they’re spreading themselves too thin… yeah no shit. Don’t have 6 kids because there’s no way you can have time for all of them. Selfish people. Even 4 is a push for most people. It’s not about them just being fed and clothed etc they need TIME with you.
Fr, especially the boy and the oldest girl.
Like the oldest girl must be so frustrated being constantly picked on by her younger sister, who in turn is most likely just acting out because she's not getting any attention from either parent.
And the boy, like it worries me how quiet he seems to be. Sure he could just be a reserved kid, but judging by the family it seems more like he's just learnt to be quiet and withdrawn into himself because even if he speaks up his needs aren't going to be met.
The 'naughty table' is so funny to me, cause I had the 'naughty hallway', where I just had to sit on the floor in the hallway, cause our house didn't have stairs.
We had a "naughty corner" which happened to be very awkwardly in the hallway right next to the bathroom entrance, so we'd constantly have to shuffle over if someone needed the wc
I had soap put in my mouth growing up. The more I learn about bad parenting, the more I realise my parents were way out of line with half their punishments

As a mum of 2 boys, one 15, one 9, boys even when they dont have access to games with guns in, they will play with "guns" and weapons! Theyll make anything into a weapon to play! This violence from those boys, comes from the influence of the parent.
fr, I'm not even a guy and I used to make swords and guns with lego and those stackable pens that we had in school, it wasn't because I played "violent" video games, it was just fun. people really need to start taking responsibility for and improving upon their shitty parenting rather than blaming everything else
@@th3_r4t_k1ng Absolutely!
That's what I'm saying!
Like not only did the dad hit the youngest with a fork, but he was dragging one of them down the stairs by the shoulder.
Of course kids are going to be aggressive when they're being treated like that.
@bluebird1914 Exactly! Neither of my boys have ever behaved like that because WE don't behave like that. Blaming the video games is not the answer.
Legit. It has a lot to do with sociology and the gendering of different influences on kids (like princess movies with female royalty sitting around being pretty and male knights or princes training with swords and fighting) but in general, yes, boys tend to play more rough and with imagined weapons.
How severe that gets depends on the parents.
My mom used liquid hand soap to wash our mouths out if we said things like 'stupid' or 'shut up'. 😭

I was born round the 2000's, in the UK, in a dodgy neighborhood. First off, my mum would literally kick me and my siblings outta the house. She used to say "curfew is when the street lights turn on. 25:34 Average American household experience, especially a southern one. I'd disagree to doin one thing and my dad or mom would threaten to beat my ass. It's a horrible way to raise your kid because it makes them grow up to think if they do one thing slightly wrong they'll get hit or yelled at. Again, my parents raised me like this and I'm 15 years old flinching at the slightest movement of someone.
25:54 The dad yelling is another thing I went through at a younger age. All I'd do is argue with my brother and I'd get the backlash, and if I tried to explain my side of the story I'd get yelled at more. American households are fucked up and "mental" as George described it.

I went to high school with a girl who had 6 sisters. Her father had an affair, got the woman pregnant, divorced his wife and had 4 more daughters with the second wife. Everyone in our small town laughed at him. No sons!
@@shethingsd 😂
@@shethingsdwhat are the actual odds of that?
@@leonrussell9607 probably pretty low but they're plenty of families they have multiple children of one gender. They continue to have more children than they planned because they keep trying to have one of the other gender. My ex partner has 5 daughters, no sons. I think what many men don't understand is they control the gender. It's not uncommon for men to leave a woman because "she couldn't" give him a son or daughter. Sir, that's on you. This situation with my classmates family happened in the US on the 70s and 80s, but I live in Belize now and it's amazing how many people don't understand the basics of reproduction.
i thought i was gonna rewatch something old but then i saw the 1 hour ago thing made me happy
