- Dark (Netflix) Season 3 family trees explained. How the characters & families are connected after Dark season 3. Please subscribe! - bit.ly/PetePeppers
Dark season 3 has finally been released and this video explains the complicated family connections in the final season of the Netflix original series. Dark is a story about the town of Winden where everything is connected, and people like to say the beginning is the end and the end is the beginning. In the cases of the Dark characters they are all connected by a family tree filled with bootstrap paradoxes. The end of the family tree is also the beginning since things start with Jonas and Martha who eventually end their world’s existence.
Jonas Kahnwald (Louis Hofmann) is the center of the story as he grows to be an old man named Adam. In the third season we learn that there is another world where Jonas was never born, and an alternate version of Martha (Lisa Vicari) plays the same role. In alt Martha’s world she grows old to become Eva, and they are connected to Jonas through time travel. Familiar characters inhabit both worlds, and produce the same offspring under different conditions. Jonas is the one anomaly as he isn’t born in Eva’s world.
In Dark season 3 we finally get answers on who is related to who, and we fill in the gaps in the families in Winden. The four main families are the Kahnwalds, the Dopplers, the Tiedemanns, and the Nielsens. After the third season we know that Jonas and Martha have a child (the Trio) who is called the Unknown. The Unknown conceives a child with Agnes Nielsen in both worlds, and that leads to the loop of families repeating. Jonas’s son produces the man who will produce his grandfather, and the cycle continues.
Dark’s final season gives us answers to most of the big questions that we had after seasons 1 & 2. We learn about all the gaps in the families and how the bootstrap paradoxes came to be. In the end Martha and Jonas have to work together to undo the knot that Adam and Eva have been trying to escape. It’s a heartfelt finale that is also a satisfying and conclusive end to the story.

The third season of Dark was more complicated than its previous installments. With two worlds, more characters, and time periods that stretch farther than the ones we’ve already seen. The concept of quantum entanglement was introduced with multiple realities existing alongside each other. This Dark video explains the ending of the story and what it means for each of the characters.

This Dark “season 3 ending explained” video covers all 8 episodes of the final season. We explain what happened to Jonas and Martha, and explain the mysteries of the family tree. The origin world is the only one left at the end, and we discuss what that means about characters we knew for the old world.
Dark season 3 is one of the best for this Netflix series. The showrunners gave the series the ending that had envisioned, and we think that Dark fans will enjoy it.
In the third and final season, DARK reaches its mind-bending conclusion, moving beyond the concept of space and time. Upon arrival in a new world, Jonas tries to make sense of what this rendition of Winden means for his own fate, while the ones left behind in the other world are left on a quest to break the loop that now not only bends time but also space. Two worlds. Light and dark. And in the center a tragic love story of epic proportions.
What Dark theories are you thinking about as we head into season 3? How would you like to see the series end? Are you excited about the new shows Baran Bo Odar and Jantje Friese are making on Netflix after Dark is finished?

So, probably no power plant in the origin world since the Unknown weren't around to pressure the coal industry. What are differences do you think there are? Let me know if you have any questions about the family trees in Dark after season 3.
At the end of the series what do they mean by a world without Winden ?

where can i find the original world family tree?

Back in season 1 we thought that Noah is older Bartosz because they look like each other, it turns out Bartosz is Noah's father that's why they resemble each other. They really did an amazing casting not just with young and old version of the characters but with family resemblance too.
Eva looks like her father Ulrich
And that's why both Noah and bartoz doubt adam.
@@romeblanchard3419 right? Glad someone noticed.
Its sad that Noah is the one who kills Bartosz...he even says it to Noah that it’s funny that Adam chose you to kill me...

Can we talk about bartosz's face when silja says hanno tho?
"that was the moment he knew, he fucked up"
Haha
Absolutely!!
The fact it was his own son
Yeah 😅
How did Bartoz know that name? I thought he only knew Noah as Noah. That was the first time I heard that name.
The casting was mindblowing. Not only how extremely good the actors/actresses were, but also how much the younger versions looked like the older versions and the resemblances between the relatives - i've never watched anything where it was as perfectely done as here.
So true never seen a show do it so good! They all really did looked like the same person.
i thought the SAME exact thing, i've NEVER seen a show cast this well, it was truly amazing !
exactly. i thought they put on makeup on older Ulrich cause he looks very similar with the adult Ulrich, til i found out they're different actors.
MOST OVERRATED SERIES EVER ! you wanna know why. PLOT HOLES! In the alternate world, Hannah wouldn't have gone back in time to 1954 to mate with Egon, which means Silja wouldn't exist and thus, Noah, Charlotte, Tronte, Mads, Magnus, Martha, Mikkel, etc. also wouldn't exist. Also, when they arrive in the origin universe, somehow the Nuclear powerplant still exists there? So we're supposed to assume that the nuclear powerplant was built without the guiding hand of "the unknown?"
Just because you are providing every element possible in a science book it doesn't means it's the greatest ever thing which will be coming out as the final result. Every single scene contains synth and suspenseful music, even when they make sandwiches or say the most irrelevant things, music score is absolutely annoying.

Shout out to Claudia Tiedeman for breaking the cycle ❤
One of the best characters, hands down
She was greater than everyone on this this show..hats off...
it's amazing how throughout the series it is shown that Claudia doesn't have an interest in her daughter or her life or that she doesn't love her enough to stay with her, etc. but in the end only, we come to know that her whole journey in all time was only about keeping Regina alive in any of the two worlds and she even agrees to help Adam to get out of the loop just for this reason alone.
She's the mvp of the show.
I don’t she actually broke the cycle. Everything happened as it always did.

What we know is a drop ,What we don't know is an ocean.
So true. Like I get the feeling the final table scene was meant to show us the cycle just began for the origin world.
Jonas and Martha brought the time machine and dark matter to the origin world. Once used the decay of the dark matter is supposed to take years. The meltdown of 1986 could still happen causing the dark matter to expand and infinite loop to begin and endless suffering to happen. That’s why Hannah has that bad dream just like how Jonas and Martha keep having realistic bad dreams in their own world of the apocalypse. At least that’s how I see it and if that’s how the show runners intended it then damn what a depressing ending. I guess it’s like inception, up to interpretation. Some people see it keep spinning some see it fall
@@AtlantaGuns yeah I really felt the inception connect at last scene
And the ocean is what happened to woller's eye 😑
@@AtlantaGuns In origin world...Time machine doesn't exist.
@@AtlantaGuns there's no cycle in the origin. Tannhaus doesn't feel the need to create the time machine anymore, so time travel is not invented there. and the cycle only applied to the parallel worlds because they were in the loop.
the last scene is meant to show some of the main characters who will exist in the origin because their existence didn't rely on the time travel. neither Hannah, Katharina, Peter, Regina or Woller siblings were born out of the time travel events. so they exist. but as Silja cannot exist there, Agnes, Traunte and Ulrich cannot either.
So there’s this cool thing they did where The guy who created the time machine specifically to save his son - the machine actually worked and saves his son and Inadvertently caused for the demise of its own creation. So this means that time machines do exist in our world except we cannot know of its existence because the time machine will set it out to do what it is fated to do and cease to exist. I suppose it also gave a new meaning to “angels”.
Best thing I've read on this comment stream. :)
Actually time travel is scientifically possible, but the one missing ingredient is what Claudia refers to as “the God Particle.”
The true power of pure intention.
This comment right !!! I was thinking same thing after rewatching the series ; I loved this show so much ; didnt get it first time that the time machine did what it needed to do;
They still left the backstory behind the eye injury of Wöller for us to imagine 🤣
Just like Tyrion's joke about brothel and jackass
I read that the actor had injured himself and they just played it as a ajoke
@@fazjab I love German humor.

@@LadyHurricaneSoccer they aren't going to give it. It's one mystery they leave for us...
I love how they practically used the Schrodinger’s Cat theory. Still can’t get over the fact Dark is over. 🙁
Well, it is,...
And it isn't.
No maybe they’ll have another season. Because it still left with some incomplete stories. As Tannhaus didn’t created or thought about time machine so what happens next? Who will be the child hannah is carrying? And they still have to explain the fact about that yellow jacket hannah had a deja vu with. XD
You can start with 12 monkeys if you haven't already
I rather have them stop at peak than turning into a terrible show like so many before. I'll miss it too, bcs decent Scifi is hard to come by these days.
@@dreamcatcherpalliyeah, 12 monkeys and dark are the best time travel series on my list.
Claudia and the fact that she have heterochromatic eyes is the best easter egg ever - she is the only one, who can travel through both dimensions in the same time, seeing all connections and knots :) she connects it all
So what is the story of Dark????
Its the story of a watchmaker who wants to build a time machine and reverse time to save his kids from an accident and his kids get saved from the accident even before he could make the time machine
Exactly.. that is the only important thing I understood..
@A Comment i totally agree and you make a valid point,so correcting my comment
Surprisingly, we need to give all the credits to tannhaus
He was kept in the dark of the fact he made a time machine. A time machine which created 2 alternative worlds. One 'light' and one 'dark', where most attention of story went to. Also 3 worlds, 3 seasons, 33 year time gaps (~= 30 = half-life cesium-137), 3 unknowns...
Don't forget the whole incest parallel worlds.

The casting blows my mind. Everyone looks just like their older and younger selves

My biggest satisfaction about the finale is having the answer to a question I had since season 1:
How come Regina Tiederman got to own the hotel that was previously Bernt Doppler's residence?
Well now we know. All makes sense, along with her being chosen with becoming the head of the power plant.
What... somehow i never even realized that the Hotel and the Doppler House were the same. Thank you!
So why regina had loans when her husband is head of power plant
@@prajwal_kudre Because no one wanted to stay at the hotel near the town with missing children. I'm guessing Bernd was long gone before they had debt
@@prajwal_kudre She would presumably have spent a lot turning the Doppler residence into a hotel - probably more than even the head of power plant had in ready cash - and then suddenly she had no guests because nobody wanted to stay in Winden. So she probably took out large loans totally confident that she could pay them, and then the bottom fell out of her business.
* if alexander tiddamenn is a head of power plant he would run his house on his own and help regina to pay her lones
* If alexander tidamenn is a head then he would be rich in winden and clear debts of regina and also run his house on his own
I am still traumatized with how Katharina died. The accident and how it was foreshadowed in the beginning is a masterpiece of brilliant works
Accident? She was murdered. That's kind of terrifying that you refer to it as an accident.
I think there was a hint that Bernd Doppler was interested in Claudia when she was still very young ...when she was tutoring Helge. Bernd told her how she was growing up and he paid her for tutoring. She said it was too much and he insisted she take it. I thought it seemed creepy but maybe it was to show he took an interest in her to explain how they ended up married in the end.
Yah if we see that at claudia as a child then it sounds creepy but when Claudia is all Grown up like a lady and she works under Bernd in the power plant it makes sense that they would have fallen in love in the origin world and ended up giving birth To regina cuz love has no age boundations !!
@@i_am_nishu There was no power plant in the origin world. There was no back story provided, just a family pic depicting that Bernd & Claudia were together. Claudia never got married in the two worlds - She was a single mother.
Brend doppler was the father of Regina...
That was one of the most uncomfortable moments in the show 🤢
Young Claudia had a keen outlook on male anatomy and her ending up with an older guy wrecked my brain my brain at one point but on final perspective of the whole series,, the relationship tree is pretty mess up.
So, no problem I guess. 😄
Why do I feel that Merak and Sonja are Jonas and Martha from the past. Merak and Sonja were also in deep love with each other just like Jonas and Martha. And its because of their death, that Tannhaus created the time machine which resulted in creating the two worlds, which in fact revolve around Jonas and Martha. Also, Merak may sound similar to Martha and Sonja is anagram of Jonas. Like its said, everything is connected.
Oh wow 🤯
It could be that the alternate worlds Tannhaus created mirror his reality
This gave me chills.
Mind blown🤯🤯, i never thought of it that way.
Good catch. The show hasn’t confirmed reincarnation yet though. But it’s a nice thought.
@@jlupus8804 It doesn't have to be reincarnation. After all it was stated specificaly that the origin world was split in two. It's the word "split" that perhaps suggests that all the characters that supposedly don't axist anymore have actually always exsted in the origin world in a different form and "they" how we see them in the show are the warped split versions.
The little boy from the creepy three needs more Love.
The way he hugged Martha was so cute 🥺
I`d have loved to hear more about his story. I guess the moment when he hugged Martha was the moment when she decided to preserve the knot so she could have him. But as he told Tronte, he was never given a name. So who raised him and how did he become the trio?
@@annaf3915 I think his older selves raised him and Martha didn't cos she was too busy with travelling and also sent her son on a killing spree. This explains why he wasn't given a name.
@@annaf3915I think Martha loved him because he is her son and part of Jonas but she kind of was a shitty mom.
Anna F Martha raised him. She did everything she did so that he could be born. The only reason she’s enemies with Adam is because Adam wants to ends the loop (stop him from being born) and Martha wants him to be born
I love how the series shifted attention on Claudia. She seemed to be a key figure in Season 1 and then they emphasized on her in Season 2 and then in Season 3 they made us believe that she was only a puppet of Eva until Episode 7. She is far the best character for me in this show along with Regina who suffers the most in each time line in Adam's and Eva's world and then she survives in the origin world and owns the Kanhwald house.
I remember Regina saying to Clausen in Season 2 that "We have nothing to do with the Nielsens" and this eventually turns out to be so true that actually saves her life.
How is it possible for Jonas to have a son who is also his great-great-grandfather?

The loop is a cruel place to start a family 😆
Interestingly, all of those killings take place in Adam's world. It could be construed as a motif that echoes Adam's desire to end it all for everyone.

This show is an inverse bootstrap paradox: the characters use time travel to stop (Tanhauss') creation of time travel
Or maybe the grandfather paradox Because Jonas and Martha went back to the past in order to prevent their existence
And maybe thats why we havent invent the time travel yet. Because someone has stop it from happening
@@zalhamalham9116 or if we tried to invent time travel, someone would pop up and say "nah...."
@@zalhamalham9116 but then how did they travel back it would mean it already existed, and if time is linear which it would most likely be if he came back thinking he could prevent it, he would probably be the cause of it existing or be prevented in some way to preserve the continuity.
Claudia is the most important character in this whole show.
She was able to see the real motives in both Adam's and Eva's campaigns and also found out the origin world, not to mention the love she has for Regina and the fact that she was amazing during school and later became the director of the nuclear power plant.
The thing that I found hard to follow was the journey of the st Christopher pendant. I think there could be a video on that alone
Absolutely agree with you! It was so amazing, realising that when Katharina died, that pendant was buried in the mud by the lake and the one to find it decades later is her grandson, the son of the son she was dying for while being bludgeoned to death by her own mother and that grandson? He is at the lake flirting with her daughter, while she is also seeing her grand grand grandfather. Crazy show!

How does the locket get in the bunker??
I know that stranger Jonas kept it when he came to 25th Jun 2020 and kept on the pillow so that Martha found it. And then it's not shown .
How come stranger Jonas have it?

Yeah in the origin world, he just stays in 1986! And the part where they role his body over and he shouts “I’m Mikkel Riiiiick!!”??! They really jumped the shark there.
That's what I was expecting it to he, haha
1:53 Interesting side note: In the German version of the show they say "...er hat keinen Namen..." (....he has no name...). "Keinen" in German is pronounced very similarly to "Cain" (one of the two sons of Adam and Eve in the Bible). While this might not have been intended, there are so many interesting cross-references and hints in so many small details, it is absolutely amazing...
Woah when I learn German someday I'll definitely watch the show again
i didnt realize that ! but i think thats just random.
I would go for coincidence. Like the Vader thing that it sounds like Vater....
I love how it just started with Jonas's dad committing suicide and we thought that mikkel mads and erik's disappearance was the biggest plot and the mikkel/micheal was the biggest plot twist.... And now in s3 they just switching realities
About Claudia and Bernd Doppler's relationship: we have a little creepy hint somewhere in season 3, when tween Claudia goes to the Doppler house and Bernd observes her and makes a comment on her beauty. It can get lost through all the other details, but I remember it because I felt the comment was weird, coming from a full grown man. After seeing that he was Regina's father it all made sense.
In which episode? I can't really remember.
Damn the dark family tree makes game of thrones look like a children's story XD, and congrats to Claudia being the mvp to break the knot 🎉!
Just imagine how crazy it would have been if Tronte was actually Regina's father! Then, he would be part of two loops: Tronte- Regina- Bartosz- Agnes- Tronte. And: Tronte- Ulrich- Mikkel- Jonas- Unknown- Tronte. He would have been the most important character even more than Martha, Jonas, or the Unknown.
The biggest trouble I still is actually not the family tree, but when which portal is open and/or when which time machine was available and used.
See the time machine time line video from dark&1899 channel brother. There they explained it.

The Three were a brilliant addition, classic horror character like tendencies to them. All in the detail like the way they clasp their hands at the same time etc. It’s the most complete series I’ve ever seen.
We still don't know how did the poor guy Woller hurt his eyes!
We've been played!!!
Or his hand.
The eye thing is because he got hurt in RL, they just decided to make a running gag out of it.
Ines khanwalds story was missed ... Could have shown some background of her in season 3 ... She looked suspicious
Right? I always thought she knew more, and that her son who dies had something to do with this mess.
She was drugging Mikkel, It's why he turned out a bit messed up.
True, I also suspected of her!
In season 3 it is explained that they left town for a while after Ulrich escaped the mental asylum and tried to lead Mikkel into the cave. Mikkel must have recognized his father even if he was 33 years older so she had a good reason to drug him - he must have been extremely upset. If I remember correctly from previous seasons, the doctors thought Mikkel made up the time travel story because he`d been through trauma. So maybe she thought she was doing him a favor by giving him drugs to calm him down...
I`d have loved to hear more about Mikkel`s side of the story, for me it was the most intriguing one. What it must be like to grow up in the wrong time with noone believing you, seeing historical events repeat themselves, then becoming a father and slowly realizing that it was your own son who led you into the cave when you were a child...
I always felt bad for Helge.Poor guy. He's always been bullied throughout the series..his mom was rude and he was only a security guard of powerplant..Noah brainwashed him and even in his old age he couldn't let go his trauma
How is it possible for Jonas to have a son who is also his great-great-grandfather?
I thought it was pretty clear that The Uknown were responsible for Boris to run to winden, as in framing him for the murder, as when they kill the blind Thannhaus, he says the same lines that were written on Clausen's letter, which for me, makes it pretty clear that their role is to start the cycle. Thats why there is no Boris to marry Regina at the end, he wasn't framed for it
Mindblown 🤯
no the fact that he said the same line as the letter implies that The Unknown was the one who wrote the letter to Clausen in order for him to come to Winden to eventually start the apocalypse. The Unknown has nothing to do with the actual crime that Boris commits
The moral of Dark. Attempting to rewrite history to save your loved ones, is messy but other than that it actually works out quite well with no consequences, and is encouraged even though you might accidentally create two universes who exist just to torment their inhabitants. If you can time travel, try it and see what happens, what do you have to lose.
Anyone else feel like it's weird that Magnus and Franziska never had kids? I mean, one or both might've been infertile, but it still seems weird that with how much everyone got busy on the show, they're the only ones who never got pregnant.

I feel like they should be Hanna’s parents.. we still don’t know who Hannah’s mother is. Or who are Egon’s parents?

What I love about this series the most is that it takes the concept of time-travel into a whole other level. Travelers cause consequences to the world and have so many profound ripple effect.
they should create a special, where everything follows a linear timeline from the very start to how it all ends

I had goosebumps when I remember bartosz story about the lake ( back in season 2 ) about a women who was killed and her dead body keeps in the deep water, after that magnus drowned Martha as a joke
Well actually.....

Holy sht
@@clairmoon06 holy shit I forgot this comment and also dark 🤣🤣🤣
It's interesting how many characters either kill or are killed by their parents -
Jonas telling his father (Michael/Mikkel) about him committing suicide leads him to do just that. Stranger Jonas strangles his mom. Katharina is bashed with a rock by her mom. Noah axes his father (Bartozs). Regina is suffocated with a pillow by who we assumed was her father (Tronte)...
also, claudia pushed egon and that hit on his head killed him so she somehow ended with her father life as well oof
Jonas (Adam) trying to kill his own son...
when all claudia has done finally plays out and regina lives as she said she would😥
When everyone keeps talking about Jonas and Martha and forget how Bartosz married his "half grandmother" silja
she's jonas half sister
Heinrich Tannhaus and Gustav Tannhaus. Maybe H.G.'s name is Heinrich Gustav Tannhaus.

The H.G name is most likely a nod to HG Wells, the writer of "The Time Machine"

Also on the serpent bracelet

And the st christopher necklace, and the time travel machine (the one in the briefcase...)
I'd like an overview on all the Jonases and Marthas out there because of the parallel realities
Martha:
0. The one who still hasn't learned about time travel before Jonas (2) arrives at Eva's world. She meets Jonas who tells her about time travel, they fall in love and conceive The Unknown. After Jonas dies, she goes to talk with Bartosz and explains everything to him about the Apocalypse and the power plant. As they are heading there they are met by Magnus and Franziska from Adam's world. She goes with them and travels to Adam's world at the time of the apocalypse.
1. The one from the reality where Martha doesn't save Jonas and leaves with Bartosz instead back to Eva's world. She then meets Eva who gives her the huge cut on her face. After that, she travels to the past to kill the Jonas (2) that Martha (2) left in Eva's world. After that, she will end up giving birth to The Unknown and turning into Eva.
2. The one from the reality where Martha saves Jonas (2) from the apocalypse in Adam's world and takes him to Eva's world. After that, she leaves for 1888 back in Adam's world and ends up dying in 2053 to Adam and the portal.
3. The one from the reality that travels alongside Jonas (3) to the Origin world to prevent Tannhaus' family from dying.
Jonas:
0. The one up to Martha's death from Adam's world.
1. The one that is not saved by Alt Martha. He runs to the basement at the moment of the Apocalypse and survives. After that, he stays in 2020 and works alongside Claudia and Noah to stabilize the portal in the power plant. This Jonas eventually becomes The Stranger and eventually Adam.
2. The one that is saved by Alt Martha (2). He then goes to find Martha (0), he tells her about time travel, they fall in love and conceive The Unknown. He's on his way with Martha (0) to the power plant. He then recognizes Martha (0)'s cut below her eye from the Martha (2) that saved him. He changes his mind and goes back to Eva's headquarters. Shortly after, Martha (1) comes from the future and kills him.
3. The one from the reality that is saved by Adam. Adam takes him to Eva's world and gives him the sphere. Jonas activates the sphere and makes a run for Martha (0) right before she leaves with Magnus and Franziska. They travel to June 1986 in Adam's world at the moment that their two worlds are created by Tannhaus in the Origin world. They travel to the Origin world and prevent Tannhaus' family from dying.
I used numbers after the names to indicate with which version each interaction takes place. Hopefully it's clear enough.
In the final scene of the show of season 3 , the people that are shown having dinner , Ironically are the only people got killed in the alternative worlds ... isn’t it strange !!!!
jonathan benison when did Woller die? And also the cross dresser was alive as well.
He died during the apocalypse
Exactly what I thought...those who were meant to live in origin world are all killed in the alternative worlds.👍😁the others in alternative worlds had to survive to maintain the loop and to eventually destroy it.great sacrifice indeed...
@@uzzieb9984 Died during the apocalypse.
Just noticed that during the final dinner party Benni is wearing the bird necklace that Magnus found underneath the bridge near the tracks in the first season that he thought was Francisca's. Must have been Benni's all along. Details....
So Egon took Hanna 2.0 in the 1950's to have an affair with his younger self
Haha..
it was not Hanna 2.0, that Hanna does not know Jonas
Could very well be
This is the most underrated comment.....
Hilarious 😂😂
So technically, Bartosz is the only one who could theoretically exist in the origin world considering Regina and Boris got together.
@A Comment Regina was is the forest without Ulrich and Katherina being there. The bullying happened after they noticed her being there. She could still meet Boris, just without him saving her.
@@UllasBhatR but the Connection Happened between them because they saved each other's lives.
@@saiaditya1769 Well, I did say it was a consideration that they got together. Its also physically impossible for the other kids to be born
i honestly think they will get together at some point, Dark never used the butterfly effect, everything was always predestined to happen. So for me it doesnt make sense that Regina and Boris will never meet BECAUSE of the butterfly effect. Look at Peter and Benni for example that got together in world 1, world 2 and in the original world. Because its predestined.
My question is how did Aleksander time travel to that very moment so that he could meet regina ? was it with the help of noah ?
Season one: _I'm complex_
Season three: _How cute_
I was just so relieved at the end of it all, all the relationships and hopping around weren’t important so I didn’t have to continue being confused. I was pretty lost on Season 3... but it didn’t matter because it was all like a dream anyway. What a fun ride and I was satisfied at the end.
It will be interesting to have a video which traces the St. Chistopher locket's journey throughout the series...and maybe also, all the things that are a bootstrap paradox
Absolutely amazing! Even the origin world is based on the thought experiment and the dualities. In one case, Tannhaus's family dies in the car crash which enables time travel and everything we notice in the three seasons. In the other 'state' his family survives because of Jonas and Martha (the product of time-travel)! The two states always exist! The car crash happens and doesn't happen!
Thanks for such an amazing breakdown of this very complicated family dynamic, different worlds and timelines! I'm gonna rewatch S3, and go back and watch S 1,2,3.
It's not Marta and Jonas that are the origin of the family tree. It's actually Hannah and Egon. They both exist in the original world and play a role in the alternative ones. They are the grandparents of Agnes who's Ulrich's grandma and Marta and Jonas's great grandma. Egon is even at the top farther than Hannah because he's Claudia's father and Bartosz's great grandfather! Marta and Jonas are then the origin of the remaining members of the family trees of both alternative worlds because of their "creepy" son who fathered Tronte in both universes.
Katharina may not after all be named Katharina in the Prime world, because Hannah never travels to 1954 under her name and meets Helena so inspiring her to call her future daughter so 🤔🤷🏻♀️
On the official origin world family tree she is named Katharina. Her monster of a mother probably had a deja-vu feeling or dream which led her to name her Katharina, similar to prime world hannah saying she always liked the name jonas. Also, if the birth dates in all three worlds are the same, prime world Katharina was born before Adams and Evas world were even created in 1986. So its probably more correct to assume that both time loop-katharinas are named after origin world katharina
While at first the name Katharina is indeed a bootstrap paradox, it may not necessarily always be like that. Helene can name her daughter anything she like. Although she never meet with Hannah, she may still get the inspiration of the name Katharina from anything else in the origin world. Afterall, the name Katharina itself is considered a common name.
Her name is listed as Katharina Albers on that family tree.
then how come hannah thinks of the name "jonas" in the origin world
@@rahulkathayat8542 How did she ever think of it in the first place? It's not like he's named after someone in the loop. Maybe she really just always liked the name.
So in the end, invention of time travel does help in bringing someone back from dead. In this case, it's stopping the death of the dead.
Very satisfied with they way the writers tied up all the lose ends to each character. Near perfect attention to the smallest detail throughout all 3 seasons. The finale was bittersweet. Never believe anything else.
The only thing that makes 0 sense is Silja from Eva's world. Her parents are different from Adam's world. How is she still born with different parents
I'll share this vdo to my friend on monday

"the beginning is the end" just like Charlotte being her own grandmother, Jonas is his own great great great grandfather, and Martha is her own great great grandmother

I couldn't believe that Jonas killed her own Mother in episode 7
To be fair he was planning on killing everyone. She just didn't get to stick around to see how it played out.
Jonas is a boy, not a girl.(*his)
That's how she* become Adam
NooB “She” as an Hanna died before she could see Adam’s plan to kill everyone (stick around). At least that’s what I think what @petepeppers meant.
@@roxy80lolipop My reply is not to pete peppers. Read the main comment.
Does that mean the unknown gets both worlds Agnes pregnant, because only one unknown is born from the Martha who doesn’t save jonas. The Martha who saves jonas gets killed by Adem and the portal.
Yeah, if you read his pages they save he conceived Tronte with Agnes in both worlds.

Thanks 4 introducing them to me oh and loved ur severance vids thank you
I think that’s the whole point of the series: parents doing selfish things for their children. The show only begins because Tannhaus wants to save his son. The show only ends because Claudia wants her daughter to have a happy life. We only have the middle of the show because Martha wants to do the exact opposite of Adam: keep her only son alive. And about the name, in german “The Stranger” sounds a lot like Kain... Adam and Eva’s child, Caim.
I knew in season one that Bartosz and Noah were related. It took till season 3 for that confirmation.
Did it feel like the ending came out of nowhere in the last minute?
As if all the time invested in understanding the complex relations in s1/s2 didn't matter at the end?
If you wanted a complete unbroken cycle then every episode except the last one focuses on completing the cycle.
It's really great that they made an entire episode where they will break the cycle.
And actually the whole story focuses on Jonas breaking the cycle so that's it.
Well the way this story was told we knew the beginning and end, and season 3 was basically the middle. It doesn't leave a "our heros got to the end of their journey" vibe but a "this journey is now complete" vibe.
I didn't feel that way at all. We had to understand how complex and disastrous the knot was before we could really appreciate why it needed to be undone. Simply destroying both worlds would not have been a happy or satisfying ending at all, but there was no way to untie the knot without destroying everything. The ending found a way around that conundrum.
In the end all of them were just pieces on a chess board. Adam (and I think Eva, too) said so several times.
BooRadleyTube oh? My understanding was that Adam and Eva's worlds were destroyed and only the origin world remained! 🤔
Throughout 3 seasons i had to keep my mobile near me so that whenever i get confused i would google the characters and know that this is him or this is her.😂
Question: What was the point of the abductions of the boys, since Noah already could time travel? What did i miss?
They had to create the technology before they could use it. They had to create the time machine before they could go back and abduct the boys to make the time machine. It's a loop
Exactly details like that should have been explained in the final season. Instead, the creators needed to needlessly bring in new things, like that trio. Or they explained things that needed no explanation (like who the woman was that drowned in the lake). This show is really great, yes. But all the fanboys are acting like it is the best thing that happened to them ever.
who is a blind man/boy and his father?
It defnitely would of been nice for them to shed a little bit of light on this, but where we are now is the not the same as where we were just after season 1, where Noah looked like the ultimate bad guy
Its pretty clear the whole abduction of the boys and murders are more for the allure of the mystery and shadyness of the season 1 timeline (for the viewers) , Noah has always seemed a bit "off" and in that, prone to violence, and with the ability to manipulate someone vulnerable as Helga, into needing "test" children to use for the time machine...it turned out sending a very young Helga turned out to be the first "kid" sent back successfully.
Whether or not needing children to test on was Noahs idea or worse, Adams idea is up for debate obviously, but it could ALSO be at that point in Helges life, he was so "off" that he indeed some sort of urge to kill, he repeats enough times in the alt world how he is the one who killed Mads, and we never get much of a reason for that
So we should probably just chalk it up to, needing some kind of stigma on Noah and Helge, the villains of season 1, who turn out to be not villains at all in the grand scheme of everything.
Erik obendorf was just one hell of an unlucky kid to be kidnapped and killed in BOTH worlds
But in the origin world after jonas and martha untie the knot, its safe to say Erik obendorf gets to live his life.. Mads, unfortunately never existed
You cant just time travel, you need to create it time travel first. The childrens deaths were experiments to perfect it, and part of the grand plan = Ulrich gets charged for their murder/attacks helge and kick starts a lot of stuff.
The main reason they happened is because they happened.
I would love to have a complete explanation video of the "unknown" trio..
Exactly... Martha`s motivation to keep the cycle repeating itself is that her son should be born. But then she didn`t even give him a name? And how and when did he/they become the trio?
Anna F i think she didn’t really “created” the trio, she just gathered them across time and sent them on a mission
It was important since in both world we don't know about the husband of Agnes but we come to know in S3 that actually 'the Unknown' is the husband of Agnes and Father of Tronte, Grandfather of Ulrich and Great Grand father of 'MARTHA' and Magnus and Mikkel. So there was this another reason as if there was no unknown than she would have never actually existed and hence she not existing means total sh*t. Also she wants to continue the loop because in one way she has just left the hope to break the cycle since her younger version was betrayed by Adam and his accomplices by putting her in confinements and also the other way around could be that she simply found it evil of Adam's plans that he would destroy the entire world in order to break the cycle but she doesn't want that. I don't know that's the only plothole of these series I guess.
Amazing work as usual, Pete. Just a consideration, I didn't read about it but I think they may have had in plan to make at least one more season from the beginning, and then cut it shorter with just 3. Hence the cut of some backstories, I'm pretty sure they had in mind to explain a bit more about Helge's parentage, Peter's, Silia, or Alexksander's story. In the alternate worlds of course. At the end I'm sure that the story would have been the same, just a bit longer, during the middle episodes of season 3 there were many, many itmes in wich i had to stop and take notes on a word file in order to be able to remember the next day, it was a bt overwhelming at time. That said I absoulutely loved it, what a great great unforgettable show it was. Thanks for adding more value with your videos!
