Dark season 3 has finally been released and this video explains the complicated ending of the final season of the Netflix original series. Dark is a story about the town of Winden where everything is connected, and people like to say the beginning is the end and the end is the beginning. Jonas Kahnwald (Louis Hofmann) is the center of the story as he grows to be an old man named Adam. In the third season we learn that there is another world where Jonas was never born, and an alternate version of Martha (Lisa Vicari) plays the same role. In alt Martha’s world she grows old to become Eva, and they are connected to Jonas through time travel.
(Dark Season 3 explained in Hindi. Added Hindi subtitles.)
In Dark season 3 we finally get answers on how the world of Jonas’s Winded and time travel came to be. We learn that Adam’s and Eva’s worlds rely on each other, and that there is a third world that they don’t know about yet. Claudia Tiedemann is the Dark character who figures out how to stop the cycles of pain, loss, and suffering that the inhabitants of Winden are stuck in. Season three shows us the origin of it all, and we learn that the origin of the crazy Dark family tree is the trio of characters that are named the Unknown.
Dark’s final season gives us answers to most of the big questions that we had after seasons 1 & 2. We learn about all the gaps in the families and how the bootstrap paradoxes came to be. In the end Martha and Jonas have to work together to undo the knot that Adam and Eva have been trying to escape. It’s a heartfelt finale that is also a satisfying and conclusive end to the story.
The third season of Dark was more complicated than its previous installments. With two worlds, more characters, and time periods that stretch farther than the ones we’ve already seen. The concept of quantum entanglement was introduced with multiple realities existing alongside each other. This Dark video explains the ending of the story and what it means for each of the characters.

This Dark “season 3 ending explained” video covers all 8 episodes of the final season. We explain what happened to Jonas and Martha, and explain the mysteries of the family tree. The origin world is the only one left at the end, and we discuss what that means about characters we knew for the old world.
Dark season 3 is one of the best for this Netflix series. The showrunners gave the series the ending that had envisioned, and we think that Dark fans will enjoy it.
In the third and final season, DARK reaches its mind-bending conclusion, moving beyond the concept of space and time. Upon arrival in a new world, Jonas tries to make sense of what this rendition of Winden means for his own fate, while the ones left behind in the other world are left on a quest to break the loop that now not only bends time but also space. Two worlds. Light and dark. And in the center a tragic love story of epic proportions.
What Dark theories are you thinking about as we head into season 3? How would you like to see the series end? Are you excited about the new shows Baran Bo Odar and Jantje Friese are making on Netflix after Dark is finished?
Let us know what you think about the first Dark season 3 trailer in the comments, and let us know what questions you have about this Netflix Original.

Most viewers would be upset with the latter because that would mean over 3 years and 3 seasons, nothing changed. With episode 7, you can imagine the ending you want and it would still work without the knowledge of episode 8. There’s an aspect I think you missed. Regina is cancer free because the nuclear plant never existed. Why? Jonas and Martha’s son never existed, and he was the one who threatened Winden’s mayor to sign the construction permits. I think the mistake Adam and Eve made, was in underestimating Claudia. The triquetra is the most important symbol in the show and there are three travellers, Adam, Eve and Claudia. Now Adam and Eve are entangled in knot, Claudia is not. Adam represents the prime world where he exists, Eve represents the mirror world where she and her son exist but Claudia the third traveller, often ignored by everyone represents the original world, where she exists. They ignore her so much that Eve doesn't notice it when prime Claudia replaces mirror Claudia because then her blue and brown eyes would have switched places. But Eve doesn't pay attention because she things it's a fight between her and Adam and completely disregards Claudia's significance beyond a pawn. She was infact equal to both of them, and the only one capable of looking beyond her own plan and agenda and see the bigger picture.
Edit: I'm wrong about the switching of eye colour. Both Claudia are identical and would have the same eye color in the prime world. Both when in mirror world, would have switched eye colors. This is proven by the switching of the scar on the unknown's face when he travels between the two worlds and also the switching or Martha's scar depending on which world she is in.

In seasons 1 and 2 we thought she was the counterpart to Adam.
Then at the beginning of season 3 we learn that Eve/Eva is actually Adam's counterpart.
Then it looks like Claudia was Eva's pawn all along (being directed by alt-Claudia).
But then there is the twist (one of the best of the whole show imo) that she kills alt-Claudia and becomes a double agent.

Even when they ran for the caves we should remember he was the one who asked everyone to go there. Claudia however, not being part of the chess Adam and Eve have been playing, saw the whole picture and must have concluded that there has to be a third world, an origin world. She was the only one who was thinking Trichotomously the whole time.

I know that the producers said that not all the questions will be answered and I think that's totally fine to a certain extent (eg. who Peter's mother is, would've liked to know but it wasn't necessary and they never really hinted at it). Concerning Boris tho, they constantly made references to it. They even created the character Clausen just for that I believe? Like who sent Clausen the letter? Claudia was the REAL Glitch in the Matrix !!
I think Claudia, at one point in the loop somewhat managed to break from it (like a random quantum fluctuation that allowed it) and traveled to the past and hidden somewhere new pieces of information that she would read later on, that allowed her to improve a little bit each iteration (like a self improving AI algorithm), finally in the last iteration, when she gathered enough to find the true origin, she comes to Adam and set in motion the STOP criteria for the entire loop. I'm writing this as a person who spent the last couple of years studying Evolutionary Algorithms and from a programmatic point of view.
I think Claudia was the real Glitch In The Matrix, as she managed somewhat to elude the loop and improve herself.
Edit: Many of you might wonder how the loop break was produced. Somewhat in the infinity of the loop, a freak random quantum fluctuation (given enough time, an exact copy of yourself can appear out of just quantum fluctuations) allowed her to gain the information she needed to start gathering informations each iteration. The infinity loop breaked with the quantum fluctuation, thus requiring several more loops until the completion.

She had the memory, because they were physically standing in the timeline, she remembered. Just like Adam would say the whole spiel about I never thought this moment would be repeated the same way, me listening to my older self, and couldn't understand how I would want what he wanted. Noah did the same with young Noah. Eva did the same with Martha. And yes it would continue in and on. But for them stopping tannhaus from destroying his world, and splitting it in two. But this is definitely not a clean ending. In HG Wells The Time machine, The Man created the time machine so he could go back in time and save his fiancee life. Everytime he saved her she always did in different horrific death. Her death made him devote every waking hour to succeed in creating the time machine. If she wouldn't have died, he wouldn't have been able to dedicate himself fully to the task. It's a paradox. So kinda same in dark, I wouldn't be to harsh because I admire the writers and love the show. But in essence tannhaus succeeded in saving his family, the time machine worked, but not by his hand, it was others who saved them, possible correlation to Jonas not being able to kill himself... Idk. But it kinda leaves things open. Just because they saved then, doesn't mean they still won't die . And then begin again, idk. I would love to see more. I understand why they wanted 3. But maybe 5 years down the line, they can do a series called Light, I leave the creating to the amazing writers.

      two things:
      1) i think the spacetime bridge connecting the 3 worlds for a moment was independent of time, kind of timeless, just like the centre of a black hole. so maybe the part where jonas and martha saw their childhood versions waa just to show the connection between them. or maybe you're right, maybe even here there's a split in reality and the loop is still going on in a different reality. this show has infinite possibilities.
      2) the end where jonas and martha managed to prevent the accident and stop time travel from happening in the first place is DEFINITELY a paradox/dual reality thing. because remember, they went back to the origin world WITH time travel. so they needed time travel to prevent time travel. so in one reality tannhaus' family died and he created the time machine which led to both worlds being created, and in another reality jonas and martha managed to stop the accident and remove all existence of time travel before it was even invented.

Orginally Claudia would have exist in alternate realities without having time traveling affected it. The writers derive our focus from her to Adam and Eva / Jonas and Martha at the same time making old claudia look ''weak'' untill mid season 3. Neat trick. That was really smart and unexpected. On the side note, tanhaus being the creator of the time travelling mechanism was expected of but didnt know they were gonna pull it off untill then end of season 3 which was great . Since tanhaus was the smartest character followed by Claudia he should realistically create the ''origin''. FYI for ppl who dont get it Tanhaus begin making the time machine right after Claudia was born so in simpler terms whoever in the shows born after the time machine are the product of it.

I'm surprised he didn't comment on the fact that in S3, alt-Martha wears Jonas's yellow coat, showing directly that she is his counterpart.
