Lots of requests, here you go! Best pencil for tile marking - Picard Pencil: amzn.to/2P9tRcu
Its currently not available if says
I find the cheap 3.5mm click pencils work awesome for precision marking. The pica does look kinda nice too though with it’s easy one handed in and out holster storage.
My PTSD always kicks in when grouting with dark grout on white tiles. Once it stops looking like a crime scene I start breathing again. Beautiful work as always.
same here, we could have spent all day scratching, rubbing cleaning the lines
Niche came out GREAT!
Another clean perfect job. I like the quartz in nitch. Great job
Awesome, thank you!
Clean, simple precise. Great workmanship as always.
I appreciate that
So clean work all around, awesome job. As a DIY'er I find trying to keep my tile, hands tools etc clean is so difficult lol. Plus all your grout spacing are all so uniform, love the channel.
Thanks brother, appreciate it 👊
Classic indeed. And looks really amazing with that color grout. Recently saw that at a clients house I worked in. I really like the look. Great job as always man.
U guys doing a great job
super results!!! great work
Glad you think so!
Sehr gut !
Fantastic work as always! I like that pen I use an ultra fine tip sharpie to mark but it wipes right off if you tough it. Looks like pencil tile finish at top. I love it. Man, your niches are above and beyond too notch
That Picard pencil is amazing! We have been missing out for a long time, crisp clean lines that don't wash away.
Love these vids , getting better and better
thanks! I try to do a good job.
Nice my friend
So fresh & so clean!! Liggy Liggy Landberg strikes again!1 Hoping all is well, Dirty Jersey out!!
Thanks Mike! hope all is good bro 👊👊👊
Landberg respect👍👍👍
nice tiling
also got to compliment the editing on top of a great demonstration of how to do the work.
I appreciate that!
Your video quality is so good ❤
Thanks brother, I try to do a good job. Keep your vids up and hope your move will/is going smooth, make the best out of life! 🙏
Your Content Are Awesome i Mean I like It
Kick ass
Perfect and faultless professional at work. Anything recommended or a must have I don’t hesitate and purchase the following day
Appreciate the comment!
You gotta do final wash in a 45 angle for best quality
This was just what I needed to see, great video! I'm doing a subway tile new shower with a niche, so that was great to see how you did it, thank you. You mentioned caulk, do you always caulk the inside corners and where the tile hits the ceiling? And do you use something that matches tile or grout or just clear? Thanks for the awesome views!
We mostly install color matching silicone on the sides and where the tub meets the tile. Home Depot carries it now..
I'm looking at buying an IQ saw but I'm unsure which saw to go with. I'll mostly be doing bathroom and kitchen remodeling and laying my own tile. So the $1800 price tag of the 10" is holding me back. Is the price jump to the 10" IQ worth it in your opinion? It looks like the 7" fit the bill perfectly for you on this job.
What brand of subway tile did you use, matte or glossy, and where did you buy it?
What an awesome installation. You definitely do quality work sir. I always enjoy watching your videos. Consummate professional. Keep up with the videos I surely enjoy them and learn from them. Thanks again. What was that pen you were using to mark your tile with. I think I want one.“FLIP”
Thanks flipp! I have a link on that pencil in the description box. Everyone is asking and we love it!
Job turn out nice!!!! Low ceiling why not tile?
The tile levelling spacers look good, can I know the link? Thanks!
standard horse shoe shims
What are you using to mark the tiles for cuts with? I mostly use a bic medium ball point pen. Or a fine tip Milwaukee permanent marker.
Pica dry pencil, I have the link in the comments and the video description
Sir
What thinset do you use or recommend for goboard with 3x12 ceramic subway tile ? Unmodified or modified?
Thanks for the help!
mod for sure!
If you didn’t do the prep someone did a good job with placement of the niche as far as seam lines go...especially since you used a special piece for the bottom. Looks nice.
we got lucky, the niche was placed at random.
@@LandbergTileTV liar liar pants on fire😉😉
@@bigbob9702 There is a possibility it was planned out, but our client didn't lay out any tile nor did they have horse shoe shims to space out tiles. Having that quartz fall perfectly with the two notch cuts was sheer luck.
@@LandbergTileTV love it. I spent a whole lot of time with the exact same layout trying to catch the bottom and included the spacers. I missed by 3/16. &@$%#
@@bigbob9702 oh jeez, been there before!
👍👍👍👍🥂
👊👊👊
Well, just ordered my new pen to go with my Huepar laser I just got.
Really man, my wife is pissed about that truck showing up at the house agin!! Lol
Tile Tuesday rocks, next week do a portable trailer review , so I can stay at on Wednesday
lol
Man, on a serious note. I want thank you for what you do. I can say for sure you’ve helped change the caliber of my skill set.
I’m booked up for 2 months because of it. Kentucky is getting a taste of the Cali way!! I lived in the Bay Area for 16 years and moved about 7 years ago
You ever had the jolly catch on the saw? What tooth blade you use?
Hell yeah, never fun. If it catches a lot, replace the blade..we use a standard 80 tooth Dewalt blade
is that shower head pipe installed backwards?
Where can I get a TILE LIFE decal from like that?
Special sticker order, lots of companies out there online do this.
Do you also presoak 8x24 ceramic with high gloss tiles? For my shower.
High gloss is easier to clean and maintain
Am referring to the back of ceramic tile and the thinset bond.@@LandbergTileTV
Love your videos. Are the blue horse shoes wedges? Or spacers?
thanks! horse shoe wedges
Nice job!!! What machine and blade are you using to cut the metal schluter?
Dealt 10” saw looks like with aluminum blade. I’ve got a 7” blade made for aluminum
Dewalt Flexvolt compound miter saw with standard 80 tooth blade
Fire video, How much was labor price on this one?
Come on don't be shy. I am doing a similar job now. Light grey subway tiles that are 4×around 10-12", with a dark grey grout. The floors will be black hexagon tiles with the same grout.
Yours looked like a nice job though.
I’m seriously considering going into tile installation having done tile jobs of course as a DIYer. How much do you charge? Per the job or hourly?
Every project is different and we do not charge per square ft,
When tiling shower walls I tile the back wall first then when I spread the adhesive on the side wall, I put the silicon on the inside corner against the back wall tile and the side wall adhesive, then I push the side wall tiles into the silicon just enough so it will not show through the grout, the silicon then holds the corners together and shouldn't leak. I personally don't like to see silicon on the inside corner of tiles
That shouldn't be necessary if you properly waterproof your shower. Tile and grout is not waterproof. We run color match silicone so that the grout does not crack when expansion and contraction occurs.
@@LandbergTileTV I live in the UK and the majority of our walls are concrete so movement isn't so much of a problem
@@tdimccullough that method would definitely help then!
@@LandbergTileTV the problem with over here in Northern Ireland where i live people want to see tiles and grout they would not be happy seeing silicon down the internal corners no matter how close the colour is, it would be noticeable
What are you using the smooth the tile edges?
diamond hand pad
@@LandbergTileTV thats very helpful. What grit would you recommend for the ceramic subway tiles that you used in this video?
@@samuelverrinder5847 Prism grout
@@LandbergTileTV sorry not grout, grit. Eg 120 grit diamond pad, or 3000 grit. How course or smooth with the diamond pad be? Thank you so much for all the videos. Amazingly informative for a diy tiler. Actually a plumber bathroom installer and your videos inspire me for my own bathrooms.
Lol. The way you whip that pencil out tho😅, you need to put a sticker on it that says Excalibur.🤣🤣🗡🗡
lol 👊 gotta plug my favorite pencil!
Where do you get those pencils
You can get them in my amazon store here www.amazon.com/shop/landbergtilediytv
Just wondering, why no tile spacers vertically ?
We eyeball it
What tile did you use at the very top?? It’s not the subway tiles....?
@Big Bob thats called pencil trim it was either that or ceramic Quarter round but it looked like pencil trim to me
@@FaithfullySojourning last one I did I cut tile super thin. What a pain.
Yes, pencil trim. Two choices, either cut the bottom row at 1.5" and the top the same, cut a 1/2" sliver at the top, or install pencil trim and miter both sides where the walls meet. We like full tiles to start on the flange or shower pan. This looks the best when you have odd shower ceiling height.
What’s the cost of this?
Every tiler hates Black or dark grey on subways. it even worse with the beveled subays
Good job by alex el tapatio Channel
Large format or bust
Pro-tip - backbutter ALL tiles. Its quick and easy.
no need to backbutter 3x6 unless you let your thinset skin over. Schluter all set is sticky icky!
1/4 inch trowel?
Do you need to turn the saw blade around so that it cuts the metal without problems?
nope, cuts with no problems
So why was this type of tile your nemesis
white tile and dark grout, takes a lot of time to grout and wipe off!
I wanted to find out if you backbutter at all. I couldn’t tell. I hate subway tile!!!
You don’t need to back butter these.
You don't need to backbutter small tiles, but helps a lot if you soak the tiles and never install on thinset that has skinned over. If you run your fingers across the ridges and thinny doesn't stick to them, re-trowel the mortar.
이아저씨 연필 새로 사셧나...쓸데없이 자꾸 비추네 ㅋㅋㅋ 근데 저거 두꺼워서 타일엔 안맞아
I love Pica
me too!
