Its been a long time since I have seen one split in the middle. We put a new lift cylinder in ours when I was a little boy.

Thanks for your video I'm working on my 9N now and couldn't get the fly wheel off either I just need a bigger hammer. Lol. My ring gear has the same missing teeth section like yours does and I bought the ring gear when I bought the clutch.

We have a 1940 model 9 N. You need to repaint Yours. It is supposed to be all Gray. People try to make You think it is an 8 N, but it is supposed to be solid Gray.

I had intentions of painting it gray but with the the red already on it i figured covering the red and when it got scratched and nicked the red would show through and look bad. Also it is the way my grandpa had it. Thanks for checking the channel out

Why does he need to repaint it. The grey is boring

@@finncampeau4922 I guess You don't have to, but the original color of them is Gray. If You want it to look like a Red Belly or an 8 N. Leave it that way.

Don't use Champion Spark plugs in it. They will skip in no time. My Dad runs AC 45's in Ours, they last a lot longer.

Record the paint and cleaning time lapse would be cool to see it. You are going to have to start playing some guitar and having your own music to play over video.

I was able to turn the flywheel through the starter hole in the bell housing. Just a few teeth at a time but i would turn. Should turn especially if the tractor is in neutral.
