Older Generations used to take care of their issues. If they had a car problem, an issue on their home, something needed built. Men and Women used to take pride in solving the issue themselves, helping a neighbor or friend, or bartering work. On this channel we take Pride in restoring that mentality. My mission is to share information so that Men and Women can once again take Pride fixing their own issues.

"Shut your house water down..." So you have to shut down the main water (usually located outdoors) for the shower because a lot of people's showers DO NOT have convenient shut off valves for faucets (hot and cold, separate) like you do for kitchen and bathroom sinks? I want to try and repair all my faucets but I can't tackle the shower until my Homeowner's Assoc contact has a few days' rest after his doctor's visit. The shower situation isn't terrible. I don't want to upset my neighbors with a shutdown without getting an okay IF my situation affects them. My bathroom hot faucets were leaking badly but were an easy fix. The kitchen sink wasn't too bad.... By comparison, the shower head seems to be leaking as slowly as the kitchen sink was before repaired. 5-15 drops per hour?
Video answered some questions that we had installing pot filler. Thanks
my setup was #2 I liked to never find it thank you
Single mom with limited imcome here, ive been doing my research for a couple of days on how to replace my Delta cartridge. I'm super nervous for my repair this weekend but I feel armed with a lot of good info.
You can do this! I am a woman and have changed two cartridges in showers. Use your phone and take a pic b4 you get far. Make sure you put a towel down so nothing drops down the drain. I got the ring off using rubber gloves bcuz you get a good grip. Make sure you cut the water off first!! Once the ring is off you can wiggle the cartridge out. I watched CZcams several times and went for it. I will tell you the cheap cartridges may not work or work for only awhile. I bought the $65 dollar one for a Delta shower at Home Depot. Good Luck.
Are you seriously trying to blame the media? Years of Trump praising violence and talking about attacking kiddie diddlers and when this kid does...you blame the media? All indications so far are that he was either a jilted lover or responding to the released information from the Maxwell trial about how many times he went to that island.
Broh, almost 3.5 minutes before you even start to show anything... Trim it up and it'll be perfect. People's retention isn't that long. Good stuff tho...
I was just diagnosed with it today. I’ve been feeling terrible with the symptoms you mentioned. I’m lucky they even decided to do a tick panel because I haven’t pulled a tick off of me or had a rash. Coincidentally, my MIL was just hospitalized with it last week. She’s very much struggling with it. Nothing to mess around with! I’m hoping I feel better soon, just started doxycycline this evening. Thanks for sharing your story! It’s the only one I’ve found on CZcams.
Nice and sturdy for downward loads but when the wind blows you will have uplift on the roof at 15 psf. Those columns just sitting on top of the railing will provide no uplift resistance. Suggest strapping the old and new columns together.
Where was this video 20 minutes ago. I fugged up bad.
Thank you for saving me from a huge "gotcha" with this cartridge replacement. I initially tried PB blaster and took care with holding the valve body in place with channel locks so it wouldn't twist as I tried to gently turn the bonnet nut but that thing felt like it was permanently stuck on. Didn't try much harder, so I got a spare bonnet nut and did it your way. Worked like a charm and nothing was damaged in the process. 👍
i really don't get it. what i'm actually looking for is a video demonstrating how to flush out a Delta valve. before i try to remove all that stuff from the wall and start messing with a hacksaw i'll just call a plumber!
delta sucks they dont hold up and their a bitch to take out never buy another one
Most modern-day Tradesmen throw them out, buy a new one and pass the cost onto their customers in this Disposable World
Thanks for taking the time to Save some Landfill and Teach somebody something ... The world needs some real teachers .. espescially male teachers .. Theres a shortage in schools ...
$600 mistake.
Great help!!! I'm a lady so I appreciate all the help I can get. This way I dont have to bother my boys, LOL. I believe this will be something I'll beable to share with them😂 Love this helpful idea!!!
Thanks for the video. This has been on my honey-do list for over two years. Eek
I had Lyme disease several years ago and now I have white spots on my elbows and above my knees that spread. What's happening to me. I feel like I keep a temperature and sunlight makes my white spots hurt. And I still have tingles .
Thanks!
I've got three of these in my house... The first one i replaced caused me to twist the valve housing, and i had to replace the valve housing... In order to do that i had to bust out the tile to get access... Wound up redoing the whole shower...😅... So I'm about to do the next one, and glad i found this video .. But i can't even get the handle off... The hex nut is full of corrosion... Any tips for that?? I saw another video here where they just cut the handle off
I'd recommend using a strap wrench instead of channel locks which will damage the ring.
Just saw one of these rip out. Screws and nails rusted out slightly splitting once drying occurred. It was metal to, so it was lighter. Just make sure you inspect your connections throughout the years. Know where you're walking if you have to get up there.
Bad Job Where You Attached To The Main House… Not Brain Sorry, Very Dangerous. Amon.
Thanks so much for you video! The bonnet nut on my unit was stuck solid with calcium deposits (?), and without your advice I almost certainly would have tried forcing the nut off and damaged the inside plumbing. Hacksaw blade took no time! The tricky part for me was determining whether I was seeing treads or not so I know when to stop cutting. BARELY cut into the threads a little, not enough to keep my new bonnet nut from threading on easily. THANKS!
Love the hat. Murica needs more of those in schools, restaurants, malls...all of it...keep everyone more safe
The dremel grinding wheel is one of my favorite tools!
You are the Goat!
Did you happen to video how you attached the 6x6 posts?
I tried everything else. Solvent, two wrench method, heat from a torch. Finally did this and it worked easily. Thanks for the video.
While everybody else is ragging like on every DIY project, 🙄... I'm here to ask a dumb question. Lol How did you figure out that angle for the template board at the very beginning?
Thanks to your video I didn’t accidentally rip or break anything in the wall. I tried WD-40 (something I saw in another video), and the cartridge did not budge. I grabbed a hacksaw blade I had in my wood shop and carefully worked the brass ring. Once I could almost see the threads I put a flathead in that space and twisted. Thanks for the great video.
I'm going to check Amazon thanks.
Wow. Nicely done Thanks for showing us.
All you need is a strap wrench and a slip joint on the valve body. You can’t cut the ring in the tub. There isn’t enough room.
I see all these people trying to split the ring off. Instead of cutting deep into the ring until you see threads and hammering a flathead straight down, cut just a notch and hammer at a sharp angle in a counter clockwise direction. It will break free and you won't risk damaging your threads.
Different tools, different markets. For people that need these for light use, such as me, an Estwing is a good choice. Solid, reliable and freaking cool. (I'm waiting for my 15 oz leather wrapped to arrive these days). It's a lifetime hammer. For the folks that use a hammer heavily, 300 bucks is a good investment that protects your joints from being destroyed long term. There's also the risk of it being lost for whatever reason, as pointed out by several people here. I don't think 300 bucks is something outrageous, taking into account that you have high quality materials and a purpose behind it. Is that hammer for everyone? Of course not, but it makes sense for the people that it's designed for!
I going to get one soon .
welp i had my outside outlet stop working, replaced the outlet checked everything and then found this video. the outlet in my bathroom was tripped.... reset it and the backyard one worked. thank you
You talk too much
This worked. Was about to explode
I thought about doing this to my mom's house. The front porch has a nice A roof with the same trusses as the rest of the house. The rear would have to be a lean to. But my biggest concern is attaching those big posts, since her house is at the beach. It would have to be able to withstand typical hurricane winds. I just can't believe my stepfather didn't have them do it when they built the house, so that the poles would have been solid, not pieced together. Another concern is that I doubt I could even come close to matching the galvanized roof metel. But it would really only be noticeable from the air and not from the ground since it is on the second story and the pitch would be pretty flat. I'm still tempted to try it. If it wasn't on the second floor, I would probably have already attempted it. I'm not afraid of the fall from the second story roof. I'm just scared of the sudden stop.
helpful video. Thank you. Useful for replacing the entire assembly.
Having the same issue. Having the lead frame replaced in two days.
Mine started this tonight...2016 with 95k. What's the cost if you don't mind sharing?
@@nametaken24 I did the work myself. Here’s the price breakdown. Conducter plate $235 Transmission oil $135 Transmission sealing sleeve $23 Transmission valve body seal $14 Lube pump (Walmart) $6 Came to just over $400
Wish I had this video a year and a half ago. Thanks
My boss got an estwing 20 years ago, and hasn’t gotten a new hammer since. He beats it hard framing and prying. You won’t spend $300 over your whole career with estwings.
All of that crap contains Teflon and is TOXIC. Wear gloves.
Great workmanship 👍🏾
My dude! This video is exactly what I needed. Thank you! You saved me from oh-no I have no shower and it’s a holiday weekend to…ok, done!
how did you screw the flange to the tile without breaking it. Was that a drill bit or special screws?....my faucet is 1/2 pipe thread and I have mouted to a stud do i need to attach that flange still for support.
I'm going through this right now. I've tried channel locks on mine and it won't budge. I thought about getting 2 pipe wrenches on that that bad boy but I don't have any and not even sure it's going to work. So I may call a plumber, I can't afford to f_ck up. BTW, I changed one of my others in another bathroom no problem about 2 yrs ago easy peasy
