I still spot a few rabbits once in a while, but I haven't seen a MK1 Jetta in ages on my local roads.
Such a good car!! We need to keep them all alive! Thanks for watching, appreciate the support!! Cheers!!
That Jetta looks SO good!!!
Right? growing on me more and more, loving it!! Thanks for the support, more to come i promise! Cheers!!
For a hot minute I thought you were wearing clogs 🤣
I'm going to modify some Sirocco height adjustable seats for my Rabbit. I need to change out the slide rail and the seatbelt latch connector onto the Scirocco bases. I want to keep the stock seats stock and just get the parts to weld on to the other seats.
Sounds like a cool deal for sure!! the height adjustable is clutch for sure!! Thanks for watching, appreciate the support!!
I'm starting to fall in love with this Jetta now, too! Can't wait to see it with the bumper tucked and the euro front, if you can get that matching rear bench installed and a little foha rear spoiler, I think it will be perfect! 👌🏽🐢☠️
Yeesss Foha front lip actually is the plan!! this project will come together for sure, that i promise!! cheers!!
Being 6'3" I've been there with a mk1 Jetta. I used S2 Scirocco seats as it was my budget fix and was almost a perfect match to the Jetta. Also had those recaros in a mk2 Jetta and there were the best I've ever had. Throw those Estis on for sh*ts and giggles...you may lose the rub too
Hahaha being tall in small cars lol! I love these cars though and wouldn't trade it for anything!! Scirocco seats are awesome too!! Thanks for watching, appreciate the support! Cheers!!
The Jetta looks so good. Personally, I would love to see it lower, but that's just my preference. Great content as always bro. 💪 keep going strong. Btw if the Jetta steering wheel suddenly goes missing, it wasn't me. Lol
hahaha, ya it will come down when i do a wheel change down the road, these poke because of the adapters and to accept more low it would require the arches to be full modded. I dont intend on rolling these speedlines forever it was just a fun trial thing, so once i settle on a wheel, ill dial it in! Cheers!!
Can you do a tutorial on how you custom fit those in a mk1. I think these seats would be the biggest difference that I could make in my 82 jetta
Mystery Garage: "These stock seats don't dump..."
Me to myself: "So who needs that? I'm 5'11" and have plenty of headroom in my Mk1 Jetta..."
Mystery Garage: "...and I'm 6'4..."
Me to myself: "Oh...yeah. Definitely a problem! Big boy in a small toy!" 🤣
Bought me a set of TuningArt VW Golf/Jetta MK1 Coilovers. I like them as they have a separate set of threadable mounts at the bottom of the shock. This way you can independently raise or lower the height without needing to adjust pre-load on the springs. They're fairly inexpensive and surprising durable too. I've had them for 4 years and they work great. Solo-Werks are nice too - good balance of ride quality and sportiness.
BTW - Gotta love the workout you get adjusting the ride height. "Wheels off - wrench wrench wrench - wheels on. Check ride height. Not quite there. Wheels off - wrench wrench wrench - wheels on. Check ride height. Still not there...' Gets old real fast...
Hahahaha so true right!! TuningArt hey? I used to have a set similar in adjustment in an old mk2 i had, worked awesome but i haven't seen them for a mk1 like that, have to look them up! Thanks for the tip!! Appreciate the watch and the support! Cheers!!
I love the stable #goals
Hahaha, thank you!! Cant wait to keep building it! Appreciate the support as always!
Is there a video on modifying the seat rail latch? I just got these same seats for the exact same Jetta hahaha
Another great vid👍🏻
Thank you so much!! Cheers!!
Heard great things about Solo Werks coil overs. Want a set for my mk7.
I agree, those Recaro seats are amazing. They suite the Jetta perfectly 👌
Right!?! even better than i thought they would! Sooo goood! Thanks for all the continued support, means alot!! Cheers!!
Nice car collection
Thank you!! Appreciate that!! Thanks for watching!!
It looks great
Thank you, thank you. Appreciate the support!!
Great episode keep up the great work brother cheers
Thank you so much, appreciate the support as always!! Cheers!!
Love the channel mate quality content 🙌😄
Thank you thank you, Really appreciate that!! Thanks for watching!
they do look great! Imagine a bit of polish!! Mine was driven in to still dont no what im getting from the insurrance for the repairs i cant weld or paint so im stuck with the shop and with the repair cost and hourly rate i think the repairs will cost me 3500-5000 euro. :
It's so nice to see what you doing with all your MK1's.. looking forward to see more 👍
Thank you so much, appreciate that and thanks for the support!! Cheers!!
Great vid. Let's see that rear bumper tuck! And how awesome would it be if there was a way to fit the mk2 GTX Recaro rears in the Mk1 Jetta so that you have a matching set of seats?
Will do! and that would be the goal if i can, even if i have to have the bench "reworked" a bit! Would be far better in the car than collecting dust on my shelf lol! Appreciate it as always!! Cheers!!
FYI: some B3 Passats came with fully adjustable seats. The butt part as well as the front edge, tilt, etc.. I just sent some to the wrecker and was like "wait, wut?"
Absolutely, mostly leather too! Dump is a must for me!
@@MysteryGarage what, you don't like the Mr. Incredible look?
Man what did those recaro seats originally come in?
Love your videos , very informative, I have a 2011 Jetta SE 2.5 and I’ve learned a lot about the oldies , somethings correlate to the modern cars
Thank you thank you!! Appreciate the support and good luck with your build! Lots more videos to come i promise!! Cheers
Roll with the 75/80 they said. It'll be awesome they said......Just replace the oilpan and motor once a year cause if you ain't rubbin.......
Hahaha , when i change wheels soon enough ill dial this baby in! Always considered these wheels to be temporary, eventually switching over to a true 2/3pc wheel, but to be honest they have grown on me now hahaha. but once i do change it up ill seek out more lows. Appreciate the support as always! Cheers!!
Do you still have the Caddy? Hadn't seen it in a while. So many 6' + people really seem to like small cars. lol
Sure do, I'm building steam to plan a huge build project for it! and ya man, tall guys and small cars hahaha its a thing! Appreciate the support, Thanks for watching, Cheers!!
6’4” here and appreciate having the back of the seat 1-2” lower. I’ve fitted b4 Audi power seats in my Mk1 project - lots of cutting & welding but they fit me and work nicely. What’s the reference to “Atlantic Fox” in the title?
A must for sure!! As for the title part, Jettas were branded differently depending on your market and where you live in the world. A VW Alantic is basically a mk1 jetta marketed in Mexico, while the fox name was used for the jetta marketed in South Africa... fun facts... considering the North American VW Fox is very different lol. You can look it up, The coolness behind these cars keeps growing the more you dig! The vw atlantic therefore is a great source for replacement parts! Thanks for watching, appreciate the support.
I really appreciate you showing us your projects, what size rims and tires are you running on the jetta? Great content keep them coming 👏
Thanks for watching, really appreciate that!! These are Audi Speedline Wheels, 15x7 i think if i remember right. but poke a bit because of the adapters needed to go from 4x108 to 4x100. Thanks for all the support! Cheers
nice shirt
I thought so too!! Still waiting on the full ride sponsorship offer...
If you had to chose between JOM or OEM suspension, what would be your suggestion. Which one would you rather go with? Thanks.
Honestly probably a mix, run a "sports cup kit setup" upgrade the factory struts and run a sports spring. Appreciate the support and thanks so much for watching!! Cheers
love those Sirocco Mk1 steering wheels, been looking for awhile now but cant seem to find one
They also came on the original Mk1 GTi GTx and GTs in our side of the world 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
When you do too, the prices of these things have gone through the roof, crazy!! But its a great wheels, really suits the build! Thanks for watching and the continued support! Cheers
I’ve been wanting to change the suspension in my rabbit swap project but didn’t want to spend the money, how much would you want for the suspension? Love the videos!
Thank you so much, appreciate the support and thanks for watching. As for the suspension, hit me up on instagram, @mk1build , we can chat! Cheers!!
what was the height you used for the coilovers. I have an 82 Jetta and I'm looking to replace my suspension and use coilovers myself.
Really it’s different for every car and owner, what works for you, your area, and the wheel and tire fitment you are running. For comparison sake I think my fender arches are 21inch from the concrete floor at rest currently! Hope that helps! Appreciate the support and thanks for watching!! Cheers
@@MysteryGarage What coils and sizes are you running on the jetta
Just wondering if you have the blue seat belt available for me to buy off you?
Well right now I'm sitting on the ones from my VR car.. was planning on keeping them with the full blue interior but... where are you located? PS thanks for watching, appreciate the support!!
@@MysteryGarage Abbotsford
Would the JONs struts be ok if you used different springs, do you think?
Spring rate and shock length and compression also comes into the equation👍
@@JustinPaul1st Right. But the shock length and compression might be ok, but he had the springs tightened down a lot. If he had shorter and/or softer springs, it might ride better. Probably not as well as the new stuff, but he might be able to order springs somewhere and recycle these.
@@jayinmi3706 possible but shorter coils will make it touch against wheel arch...could use shorter but firmer coils
Ya these new coilovers are priced quite well so it doesn't break the bank to go to a set built to work together. Having said that, anything is possible but might not be worth the investment. Thanks for watching, always appreciate the support!! Cheers!!
There’s a 83’ gti for sale a couple hours away from me. It has little rust and has an ABA swapped into it. Guy wants 3k. Should I go for it? Do my dream vr6 turbo swap it in?
Go for it my man and restore it can't beat an original Gti....is it 1.6 or 1.8 Gti
@@JustinPaul1st I believe the later model GTIs came with a 1.8 and the earlier ones a 1.6. Since this a 83 it originally should of came with a 1.8 if I’m not mistaken.
@@dinokadribasic9192 either way I say go for it...restore it to factory standards it be a master piece
@@JustinPaul1st I don’t have original condition money 😂
@@dinokadribasic9192 used the used money then😂😂😂
