Tech i forgot to add:
- You can Slidehop while in Block to circumvent the walk speed limit.
Tech i learned about since upload:
- Best Method to keep basic Dash Speed is to Dash and then jump into a slide. This jump also let's you tap-strafe out of the dash
- You can block in Deathbox with toggle ads
- You can cancel the Limit Break animation by interacting with a Zipline + other activations/interactrions
At 1:18 doesnt a light attack also 1 shot doors? Its just awkward if u have the weapon charged
Another thing I noticed is that sliding while heavy attacking has a slightly faster animation.
You can block while in deathboxes with toggle ads

That’s one of the worst apex ideas I’ve ever seen, already as it is just a single person with limit break is already unfair. Yes it can be beatable but in a lot of cases it’s not and to have this be perma into the game is just stupid

you can also animation cancel the limit break animation by activating revenants ultimate or by taking a zipline, there's also a bunch of other interactions
I'm not sure if it was mentioned, but when you use dash near doors, you'll get stopped by them and doors will be destroyed, but it works even if you are dashing in parallel to wall so when you want to rush someone near wall with dash, you have to keep that in mind you could be stopped even if you don't see that doors :D

Man I wish so badly this insanely cool and fun movement and update was in ANY other game than Apex / a battle royale. I'd absolutely kill for this type of huge gameplay updates to be added to Titanfall 2 (or just include a pilot with a huge sword in Titanfall 3)

yeah I agree. stuff like this is cool, but ultimately, Apex is still a BR, a game with tons of downtime, and the potential for players to spend 5-10 minutes waiting in lobbies and walking around, one five-second-gunfight, and then 5-10 minutes of waiting and walking again.
games like this should have basic TDM/respawning game modes - Call of Duty gets it right by having the BR be its own thing in addition to a standard action-packed game with minimal downtime wasting players' time.

This was basically Forge abilities but transformed into a sword. Too bad Forge was a bait Legend that got killed by Rev lol~

Mokey if you didn’t know that if you go into firing range and activate sword ultimate and jump off the map and respawn you keep the speed boost from sword ultimate as long as you keep it out of

Really hope Ash gets a rework which basically makes her into this. Even if the values are slightly tweaked to make the block, block less. Like say 75% instead of 85-95%, since that basically makes shooting a sword guy literally useless. And in the ultimate version of the sword, perhaps there's a way to buff the ult so that you can phase dash instead of normal dash, giving you invinsibility whilst you dash.
Perhaps your ult builds up on a timer, simular to a vantage sniper, and you can expend sections of your timer to give you an invulnerable phase dash in exchange for less time in the ult (though it can be extended further with kills). Expending even more time will give you the limit break modifier essentially, but you MUST kill someone quick to make use of this overpowered state. You don't get much time in it at all, but if you kill, the time extension is the same as normal, making you really scary if you secure that first kill in "limit break" form.
I could imagine the ult has 3 levels.
1 - slightly worse than current buster sword with a weaker block and shorter dash to the sword
Max ult time: 25s
2 - added Phase Dash and dash distance in general is increased. Phase Dashes also generate a portal that allows a one way travel from other players also. Swing speed slightly increased by 5%.
Ult time reduced by: 5s
3 - block power increased to 90% damage reduction. Swing speed increased by a further 10%. Ash can also launch enemies into the air now, which previously she didn't have access to. Can chain 2 phase dashes together which creates a portal with essentially double distance. The second dash can go any direction instead of only forward.
Ult time reduced by an additional 10s
Kills add and additional 10s onto the timer.
The phase dash benefit means even as a movement tool, it still gets the benefit of her old ult, though she can only have up to 1 portal at level 2, and 2 at level 3, meaning if she spams dashes, it will keep closing portals. If someone is in a portal when she dashes again, they'll be thrown out wherever they stand, making it crazy for baiting people into potentially killing themselves if they're stupid enough to follow you in risky locations.
Not even just over the edge of the map. You could zip over an entirely seperate gunfight below you and just drop the enemy into it or something equally creative.

it's allowed to be stupid, broken and overtuned. If it was a permanent addition then there might be issues
apex is just creating artificial demand for the game by doing fortnite collabs and it's hilarious because no one plays anymore so they need to do random shit to remain relevant
Another thing, dashing while on the floor lets you keep more of the momentum from the dash. And when used on a downward slope will send you flying!

What’s the best weapon to use against the sword?
Do you have a guide to do the Horizon trick with grav cannons where you can go off of it like you can with Pathfinder. I've been trying to do it but I can figure out exactly where to put her Q to make it.

5:48 But if you wanna still use limit break you will have to sacrifice a gun for another sword meaning the first sword that you swapped when holding that you will keep the 40% speed boost but cannot use limit break and the other sword which was the original sword when you hold that you can use limit break holding it doesn't have permanent speed boost. In short you can have permanent speed boost and can still use limit break but no guns unless you play Ballistic.
Could actually be a solid option for specifically ballistic
If you have toggle ads, you can block while in a deathbox, i recommend having an extra bind set to it

Ive wanted a sword legend for so long
i played 1 match, took it, tried to kill someone and died fast because i thought you can only do normal attacks (the technically heavy attack but with left click which to me is the normal/light attack) then watch this video and learn that you can do actual light attacks, block, dash, and well, i knew about the upwards jump attack and the attack from the air to the ground but no more things, so i instantly thought it was a shitty weapon but fun to have because looks cool. So im wrong, its actually god, you still can die but its hard

this is good. apex needed a fun mechanic like this for a while. shits gotten way too esportsy with all the new season changes being nothing. hope they make that as a character ult just toned down a bit
It seems op to lift them up and get several light slashes but if you play final fantasy than it makes perfect sense.

I found a speed glitch with my friend in the firing range. You need to have the sword at max the activate it then jump off the map don’t slam because it bugs your character and then when you respawn you will be faster. But you can’t activate it again but if you were to pick up another sword only the sword you did it with is glitched.
If they half the block damage reduction this could be a nice care package weapon!
Quit playing apex like 2 years ago and I'm glad I did but the sword doing a good amount of damage and being a different weapon type makes apex look so much more fun and refreshing. You'd almost get to use movement even more fluidly if you were able to use melee weapons alongside firearms.
What did you replace apex with?

No way respawn aint gonna nerf this busted sword after the event - this is stupidly OP w/ all the perks you can get with it. I just hope we can spam melee with all the heirloom we have right now and it should be in the game since the first heirlom was released

Ash needs to be remapped to skirmisher and reworked just like rev, either she is given revs old tactical ie traps enemy and stunns them including disabling tactical fir like 10 secs and maintaining her ult or give her the buster sword dash to any height and her portal tactical
