- Saucony Kinvara Pro first run and first impressions review. When I first heard that Saucony were producing a "SUPER TRAINER" the Kinvara Pro, I really wasn't sure about the whole thing. The Kinvara model has always been a lightweight, stripped back training shoe, that has a loyal following within the running community. Whereas the Pro version is a carbon plated, cushioned goliath of a running shoe with a stack height on the heel of a whopping 42mm! However, hearing about the shoes definitely got me interested in what they would feel like to run in and in today's video we're going to find out!

This is a great shoe. As a heavier runner (91kg) forefoot striker, 154 cadence I put a lot of force through my foot strike. I flatten out the foam of and speed 3 or a pro 3 within 3-4 miles. These feel great to me, I get really good cushioning and energy back and there’s no way that I can get them out of shape. I ran half marathon at 8min miles yesterday and felt great throughout. If you are similar to me, this is a good option and compliments the endorphin elite really well as a daily training partner. I’m concerned about the outsole though.
OMG, I've been training in these for the past 3 weeks (for the Lisbon 2023 marathon). MAGNIFICENT. So happy with my purchase - and decision to experiment with a 3/4 carbon plate. However, I think the aggressive forefoot is helping on the straight and uphills.

Does this now replace the Endorphin Speed as a training shoe match for the Endorphin Pro? Great review 🇨🇦
I personally think it's a better shoe than the current Speed 3. It feels more responsive and the midsole feels like it's returning more energy. Hope this helps and thanks for watching 🙏😊
I think it's intended as the companion to endorphin elite because of the tooling on the midsole and outsole.
Kinvara pro or speed 3 for all around shoes? I run 60km per week and my peace is between 4:30 and 5:20 per km.
Like you the Speed 3 has been a disappointment for me in comparison to versions 1 & 2. The lively speedy feel has disappeared. Being a much heavier shoe, I am surprised you sense the Kinvara Pro has more pop to it in comparison to the Speed 3. I sure would like that, so may have to consider this shoe.
Definitely more pop in the midsole of the Kinvara Pro and the Speed roll geometry feels more efficient in the Kinvara 👍

@@Run4Adventure Yes for sure. But for some reason the Kinvara doesn't cause issues for my stability needs like other neutral shoes. And I've heard the same from others. It seems to be the every person shoe. Although I use it in moderation.
Marketing trick to bump up the price: add a "pro" label next to the model's name.
Don't forget, they always put a Carbon plate in as well 👍
Running shoe prices are a bit crazy at the moment 🤯

Height doesn't matter unless your up for a podium. Seen plenty of people running races in "illegal" shoes.

How does the outsole hold up without rubber?
Saucony have been using a similar outsole system on the Kinvara for years and it's never been a problem. The PWRRUN foam is pretty durable. I'll be running more miles in the Pro's over the next few weeks and we should have a full review on the channel soon 👍

This is definitely the most positive review of this shoe I've come across. Interesting.

So much cushioning, couldn't be much different from the standard kinvara
It's very different compared to a standard Kinvara. Firstly it's got a Carbon plate in the midsole and it's got a top layer of PWRRUN PB foam, which is a lot softer and more bouncy than standard PWRRUN 👍

saucony only make high quality shoes but i'm not sure what half of them are for
It's worrying how expensive running shoes have become 🙃
And with all the foams becoming less dense and bouncier the shoes only last half as long as they used to.

Buy older models. Rebel v3 is widely available for $70-80

I'd rather buy another pair of Endorphin Pro instead of these given the price difference between the two is not that great! and pro is significantly lighter. I am not sure this will last much more than Endorphin Pro (which does have a rubber outsole) either.
Noosa Tri all the way. I don't care if the shoes shave off 30"/km on each of my runs, I'm not paying so much for a running shoe when I can get two pairs of equally good daily trainers for the same money. At the end of the day, it's my training that'll make the difference, not so much the shoes I train in.
The Noosa Tri is a great daily trainer and I totally agree, they're just shoes and it's down to the individual 👍

Somewhat interesting shoe but... everything about that shoe sounds like the exact opposite of what the kinvara name means to me. Really weird branding choice...

I guess it's just the way the running shoe world is going at the moment, everything has to have a deeply cushioned midsole! 🙁

Don't see the point of these super trainers, just train in super shoes, they are the same price and then you can race in them too!

Speed 3 boring.. But kinvara Pro is so heavy...
