I don't think anyone really realised how smart Impulse was volunteering. He was having a hard time with his task, he was so close to death thanks to Scar, and he figured out Gem's task has to do with infection. So by volunteering he is not only helping Gem with her task, he's putting himself back up to 30 hearts and getting into Bdubs good graces by supplying +10 hearts. It's an incredibly intelligent play and kudos to Impulse.
And because he only had 2 hearts he could have died before being infected and turned red
Funny how *both* Scotts deployed that strategy. It's just too bad Scottish Scott didn't realize what was going on with Gem from the start-he could have been the first to join Team Boogey.
@@GSBarlevGem should have infected Scott immediatly, instead of saying stay away from me she should have gone to Smajor and told him "i need to kill you at some point of the session, lets go right now"
@@maca76 Without the Widow Alliance, Cleo wouldn't have been able to escape through Scott's underground base, and they may have completed the task.
Although: Grian was on his own for a huge portion of the episode. So hard to know if he would have been discovered ever.
@@GSBarlev i think Scott is very good at strategies and planning, so maybe he would have figured out a way of making it less obvious

I’m always impressed by just how much damage Scar always dishes out to anyone trying to kill him before he eventually inevitably dies.
He about took down both Gem and Imp 😂

AAAHHHHHH YESSSS!!!!! That's what I was going for!!
It was honestly kinda smart to get infected early, you could easily have lost those two hearts and your green life in an unrelated incident, then still had general Gem’s army after you. This way you only lost the one life!
Basically what happened to Cleo. She died on her own and lost 20 of her yellow hearts as well. It made sense to resist for players at 30 yellow like Grian or Scott but if you are green with like 5 hearts you might as well be a zombie.
Impulses task was so rough considering Gems task was legit... just... idk. It's a shame Gems task dominated the week because Impulses fakery, Scars insanity and Tango putting up a butt next to BDubs base as a 'moon' would have been amazing had it played out

Considering that the bogeyman was a thing for 2 seasons, it makes sense that tasks would involve it, but yeah, it sucks for Impulse as people quickly figured out he was faking.
yea whoever is giving these tasks aren't thinking everything through, especially since people aren't gonna assume others are boogie, because there are already tasks to hurt other players. they'd just assume it was a task. even with gem's boogie task, the uninfected called them zombies, not "boogieman". It's been like this with a lot of the tasks, some are connected and some are just thrown in because of a random connection that is actually...eh
@@darkdistructer Exactly, if you take a look at Cleo's shared task with Skizz and Etho, Etho's doesn't even mention that he had a counterpart, let alone a win condition that he has to do, unlike Skizz's (which has a misprint). I think the admins wanted to speed things up, so they gave Gem that task to lower the overall health of the server (and Martyn isn't fighting an upward battle to create more reds and bring this season to conclusion)

Tango, a few milliseconds later, “Wait. Wait. Wait. Hold on. Hold on… You put fire charges in the dispenser?” Impulse just chuckles on his way out.
Tango totally committed to not doing any red stone, basically closed his eyes and let Skizz take the wheel. Haha
Task Idea: “[Another player] has a list of mini-tasks for you to complete throughout the session. You must complete at least five of them before the end of the session. Yellow lives can not guess this task.”
The plot twist is that the “task-giver” does not have a list of tasks. Their book reads: “[Another player] thinks that you have a list of mini-tasks to give them. You must make up the tasks whenever they ask. If at any point they guess that you are making up the tasks, you fail.”

Sadly I think we're to late into the season. Most tasks now involve hurting players/creating negative interactions so that people don't live for too long, this would be a BANGER task for episode 1~3 tho
Task idea: You're afraid of the indoors. Don't be anywhere with blocks above your head. This includes people's bases, gates & entryways, nether portals, etc.
what about the entire nether and the overworld underground? the nether technically has a roof.

I know each life series gets a new gimmick, but I really hope this one returns. I think you guys have kinda struck gold with this concept and there's room to expand on- or limit the idea to keep things fresh.
I'm surprised Impulse hasn't farmed ender pearls yet. They're basically the only reason he got second in Limited Life.

@@tray2204Yep, every bit of hearts count so pearls can be detrimental at times. In Cleo's case though it was perfect (before she drowned)

@@lethallizard_4493 farming something is different from making a farm for something. Standing under a two-block-high platform and killing endermen is also farming.
Task idea: Set three explosions without anyone noticing, they cannot be too far from people. OR for a red task, set three explosions and make sure a different person loses hearts every time.
Impulse: "Oh no I'm accidentally setting everyone on fire! Oh misclick! Oh I'm sorry guys!" (Is his task how many times can you lie? 😂)
Chasing Pearl while playing the music she uses for time lapses was so on-point.
I really thought folks would actually try for Elytra once the dragon went down. I knew it would be a bad idea, but I figured folks would try anyway. I was really looking forward to flying Red names.

Task idea: Gather up all the chickens you can find and fill a players house with them leaving a sign that says "It was the man in the chicken costume." But no one can know what you're doing.
It would be funnier if grian get this task.

@@darthsicariustenebris8284 oddly enough, he's not the only Lifer to have filled people's houses with chickens under an alias. Back in the first modded season of "One Life", Scott pulled a series of chicken pranks as "The Egg Bandit".
@@dbseamz Joel also did this as well. During Empires SMP season 2 right before Fwhip got married he filled everyone's bases with Wardens as a "Wedding present". While he was gone Joel retaliate by putting egg machines all over Fwhip's base which cover Fwhip's base with chickens. I don't think Joel took any alias tho.
Wow, Cleo died, due to drowning but was lucky to avoid infection. So just Grian and Cleo managed to avoid getting killed and infected. 😂😂

Task ideas (commented these previously, idk if you are supposed to…)
(Red): cause another player to take damage in 5 different ways
(Normal): Throughout the session you frequently forget or get confused as to what life series you are in. For example, if you’ve experienced betrayals in past life series, act as though they just happened. If you had past partnerships/teams, use this. You could also use past bits/running jokes. Additionally, you could bring up things like the boogyman, time running out, or soulmates as if these are currently in effect. You must engage with other players while experiencing these episodes. If someone mentions that you are bringing up old events, act confused/disoriented/in denial.
(Normal): You can’t use the letter M
Out of the 5 uninfected people at the end, they all end up uninfected by different technicalities:
Martyn: was red at the beginning making it impossible to get infected.
Smajor: was killed by Martyn, not by someone infected.
Grian: didn't die.
ZombieCleo: died without being hit by infected people.
BigB: didn't have Tango help kill him.
I believe impulse wasn't involved in the killing of pearl either. Which also makes the killing of scar and so on mean nothing

BigB counted on the basis they asked Tango to command they kill him. It was technically involved. Impulse was implicit in the rigging of the trap that killed pearl.

It's fun seeing the tasks get more and more hurtful the longer it goes tho, to keep the players life in check
Early season task be like: "You are the DancyDancy-Man, please dance in front of everyone you see"
Late season task be like: "KILL EVERYONE, SPREAD THE DEZIESE"

I knew the tasks were gonna get more cutthroat. Tho i want to see this season last the rest of the year I don't think they do 😊
@@somejerkbag tbf is certainly not easy to keep everyone's schedule free for it. It's a lot of people that live in different time-zones, and differently than SMPs like Hermitcraft, everyone has to play simultaneously. So they're probably aiming to end this before the festivities
I predict 10 episodes max. I feel 8 everyone will become red and on episode 9 several people will go out with 10 being the final battle

The chain of the curse was broken anyway when Tango wasn't the one to kill BigB ... so it would have been a fail anyway. Good effort though! I think this might actually be the most carnage in a single Life session ... I've never seen the server go red THIS fast!
The chain of the curse was broken much earlier when pearl died without impulse's input.

This task was rough enough it was probably better that what happened happened. Before this session "Boogeyman" just wasn't in the server awareness enough to proc THREE TIMES. The other players knew he was doing SOMETHING, but invoking the Boogey was just too far a stretch to be reasonable... not until Joel overheard the term during the Gem thing, anyway.
Task Idea: You are the bully of the server. You must tick off or insult 5 different players and get them to run away from you. If 3 people stand up to you without insulting you back, you fail. You automatically fail if you try to bully someone when the player in charge of the server (Grian) is present. If another player snitches to Grian about your bullying and Grian calls you out, you fail.
Well idk if this is my suggestion since i requested the plague idea and absolutely loved it! Anyways here is some tasks!
Tasks:
Knight and Shining Bodyguard
-You are appointed a knight to protect [Player Name]. You must protect them at all cost and if they die, you fail.
Drinking Red Blood
-You are tired of the Red names and its time to bring Revenge. Kill a Red name in any means necessary, but if you are killed by a red name or a red name kills someone before you do your task, you fail.
Red Tasks:
Alpha Wolf
-Kill someone with a wolf.
Breaking Bad
-Kill someone while they have 3 potion effects on them.
Barber Menace
-Kill someone witha pair of shears.
Task Suggestion (this would go to four people):
You and (list three other players) are the four horsemen of the apocalypse. You must all ride horses and do the following:
One is Conquest, and must attack people with a bow.
One is War, and must attack people with a sword.
One is Famine, and must destroy all crops and livestock they see.
One is Death, and must attack people with poison arrows or potions.
Decide amongst yourself who will take what role. All four of you must stay together. You fail if anyone of you gets off their horse or separates (that includes dying).
Oh dang, when I was watching Cleo and Pearl's POVs I hoped your task might have been from one of my suggestions.
This one was pretty good too, though.

Task Idea: You and another player are in a race to kill each other. Find out who it is and deal at least 10 hearts or kill them before they do it to you.
I was cheering the whole time! Impulse being out for blood is the best!

(Your task is now my property)
You must Punch a non-red person or a person who has not yet completed their task, to swap your task with their task
Now you have to try to complete their task
And they have to try to swap this task with someone else
This game of swapping continues until the end of session
The person who has this task at the end of session has to reroll for a harder task next session and has to get punched by everyon who had their task swapped this session

Task Idea: you're Chicken???
At the end of the series convince at least 1 person to do a double self-kill with you to end the series. but you chicken out on the last moment.
Waterbucket MLG is not allowed. you must fool the other into thinking you are legit, and empty out your entire inventory..

Task Idea:
Mumbo is revived for this session for the next 20 minutes with one life. He has been placed in a random area. Find him and protect him for the allotted 20 minutes. If he takes more than 3 hearts of damage, you fail. If you succeed, Mumbo gets a second chance at Secret Life, as a green name once again. You can tell him about this task, but no one else.
Mumbo's poor shifting thumb would break.
This is actually a pretty fun task idea that I would love for them to do! The only problem is that it's only Mumbo and not also Jimmy or Lizzie. That and also it would be really easy for a yellow to guess since they are protecting the person who literally just rise from the dead.

Task idea: reds vs yellows. Reds win if everyone is red at the end of the session; yellows win if all the reds are knocked out of the game. If neither side wins, everyone has to reroll for a hard task next week.

Team Reds Task: Red Attack!!
In order for Reds to win they must drop the Yellows to 3 before the break by any non melee means.
After break: Round 2 (Double winnings or Double Fails) Then they must turn the remaining Yellows to Red by the end of the session to win. Yellows must stay above a certain Y axis, not go through portals, and not die or its a fail. Yellows that die in Round 1 now participate in Round 2, but still hit fail for Round 1, unless they already finished thier task and hit success. They may earn a success if Reds are successful in Round 2. Yellows will still need to complete their tasks as well as not die.

Task: You are a now an assassin hired by the Secret Keeper. There are two more assassins across the server, and you can either work together to achieve your goal by typing any line from the song "Never Gonna Give You Up" or compete by stealing one of their prey. Thus, instantly succeeding this task. Unfortunately, if the other assassins kill one of your victims, you fail. Your targets are (insert 3 usernames, names should be different for each assassin). You can have one protege and let them read this task, making this their new task and have their own ongoing/finished/failed one void. If you fail this mission or get caught by anyone, you must pay the price by rolling for a hard task next session.
Cleo not drowned trying to escape boogie alliance, she drowned trying to find escape hole that Scott mine but she can't see anything on her screen because her brightness too low.
If you watch scars perspective he was in the water behind them swinging his sword at them, it was a very close call tbh and could be swung either way.

I know now Skizz does not have one, and I'm nagging him, lol, but he mentioned he sometimes piggybacks on your post box. Cheers!

Task idea (resposted, will delete if already used):
You must step (within 10 blocks away) out of five different conversations and perform a one-minute-long soliloquy. Any player trying to guess your task must specify the word "soliloquy" as well as the number of required monologues
Additional info: definition - an outspoken monologue on the conversation's topic.
Ex: "To be or not to be" from Hamlet, Tevye's soliloquies from Fiddler on the Roof

Grian did not even lose a single heart by the end of session. He started at 30 and ended at 30, crazy. Though he did end up betraying his entire team for that lol, that man can not be trusted.
Task idea:
Your task is to pick any of the previously failed tasks and make it. You can ask other members for their failed tasks but if they guess why you're asking you can't do that one
Everyone in episode 7 has completely and utterly lost it you all have went psycho crazy
Can you get Wither Skeleton spawn eggs? Those would be so op if you put them in a spawner! Imagine getting like four spawners and then placing them around your base and then just having them rain down from above like that would be insane lol

Task idea: Free pass. You don’t have a task this session and are free to do whatever. You only fail this task if you die.
I was about to suggest a task about a fake boogeyman and the next second impulses task was literally exactly that 😭😭😭😭😭😭

Task idea: Do a minimum of 5 hearts of damage to all previous Life Series winners by any means possible. If they are a red name, you must do a minimum of 10 hearts of damage.
I think leaving red names to 5 hearts is fine
Task ideas: Set up 3 mob spawners in places were the mobs are likely to hurt players.
