Cadillac remains a bit unsure of where they want to position themselves in the segment, and that is especially true when you look at their latest crop of sedans. The #CadillacCT4V is a new RWD small sedan competing against cars like the CLA35, S3, and M235i Gran coupe. All of its rivals are based on FWD platforms with standard AWD, while the #CT4V is the only RWD offering with available AWD. It’s 325 HP turbocharged 4-cylinder traces its roots to a truck engine but it does offer the most HP and torque in the segment and it’s snappy 10-speed transmission offers the most gears. Currently, the quickest #CadillacCT4 #V will sprint to 60 in 4.6 seconds and should attract a few niche buyers who must have RWD. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
It's strange everyone hates the rear, but i think it's exceptionally good
Agreed. It’s not that bad. It’s just a little unusual because the trunk lid is so wide.
The trunk lid should follow the line of the inner taillights. Otherwise its looks too junky.
I agree with you. Love the way it carries the Cadillac badge look to its design language. It does need the tech upgrades the 2021 brings but otherwise I love this car.
Me too
Y'all blind you look at it dead on from the back and it looks like a mouse that has downs
Saw a burnt orange one at my local dealer. That color is awesome. Tired of luxe brands offering 17 different greys.
I think it looks better than most cars in it's class.
This interior doesn’t scream luxury.
It barely screams Mazda
For a supposed luxury brand its a good gen behind, maybe 2
It's the cheapest Cad sedan they currently offer. What do you expect?
@@pontiacGXPfan I expect better than this. GM is putting more effort into their Chevy interiors even.
@@jimmehp2748 In the Suburban and Tahoe maybe, but not so much everywhere else
It’s weird how u can’t buy all the cars from this channel but still U want to see all the cars they show...bravo to this channel
This is the most honest review of the CT4 I've seen yet. Thank you guys for keeping it real
No matt Farah's is lol
That car could be something special with a little more effort in the interior.
I totally agree with that.
And the hideous rear bangle butt. The CT5V is just a no brainer upgrade, u get a much better motor, interior and exterior. You still get the great handling I hear.
@@sunnyvalentino I hated the rear of this car when I 1st saw it too. Now I just "kinda" don't like it. In a few months it might just look okay lol.
@@Stressless2023 lo.l. I can understand that. The 5-V is such a looker tho...
So then this should be a Chevy.... I’m thinking of the concept cars they unveiled at the LA Auto show in 2013/2014... I think it was the code 130R
Engine gets smaller, Cadillac emblem gets bigger!
The seats are surprisingly nice looking. Very premium IMO

I didn’t like the CT4 until I had one as a loaner. It was the “sport” model with the 2.0 turbo and I liked it much more than I thought I would.
I can’t wait to drive the Blackwing with a manual!
Always the best reviews
Very comprehensive review - thanks !
Caddy putting in that work
They need to work on the interiors
True
@@JDMSwervo2001 The first manufacturer to develop a OLED display infotainment system is Cadillac. Every 2021 model Cadillac get wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay as standard equipment. Fully reconfigurable digital 12.3-inch LCD displays are now available on even their entry level products like this CT4 for 2021 model year. The infotainment system has improved dramatically. There’s always room for improvement so I agree there’s more work to be done.
Always great information
I like it. Very different from any other sedans out there.
The problem they are having is marketing. Cadillac should have kept V for Track edition and kept Vsport for sport upgrade. They are confusing everyone by saying Vsport = V now and
V = Blackwing. People are not invested enough to know that change. The new Cadillac V = Vsport = Audi S line = BMW M200/300/400 series etc... For a Vsport I think the car is fine!
Where did you get the rainbow shoe laces??
So they devalued the V and the Blackwing is what the V used to be? Interesting
Mercedes did it to the AMG
BMW did it to the M
@@pontiacGXPfan Not really with BMW because the M is still top of the line. They have M sport, M performance, then the original M to distinguish. With this they kept the same name but depowered it altogether and created a new name to replace what it once was.
@@Nestle245 What’s the difference? Last generation V-Sport Cadillacs received the same “V” logos as the high performance variations. The lower tier AMG models receive the same badging as high performance AMG variants. Same with BMW. So what’s the difference? They’re ALL “devaluing” the names of their performance divisions, the only difference is now Cadillac has done it and suddenly it’s a problem.
Audi is one of few that distinctly separates them with “S-line”, “S”, and “RS”.
@@mybro727 This isn't a V Sport, it's a V. If it was a V sport then it'll make sense but it's a V. This car's spec's are closer to the V sport than it is a V, but they discontinued the name "V Sport" and just called it "V" which is backwards because it performs like a V sport and not a V. That's like a BMW M downgrading it's specs to an "M performance" and still naming it M and not M performance.
Naming a car a M340i or E53 AMG is certainly devaluing.
All of the visual parts he finds "boring or plain" is exactly how I want my next car. I've been looking for a "sleeper" car. I want to stay off the cops radar yet have the ability to put a smile on my face when I step on the gas. I'm a quiet kind of guy so I don't want a loud exhaust drawing attention
I think I found my next car
Exactly why I got one
Great car money for the buck!! Love The CT4's alpha platform! handling and feel is amazing!
Cadillac has suffered from an identity crisis for 20 years ...
Please explain this...lol
Roughly since the introduction of the FWD sedans in the early mid 80s. Which means that Caddy has been in an identity crisis most of my life (born 1977.)
Go back and read car comparisons and tests from the 1960s and Cadillac would be compared to Rolls Royce and kick Rolls Royce's ass most of the time. Oh how the mighty have fallen.
@@DaddyDan77 Correct. Cadillac stood among the best, period. Now they're largely irrelevant beyond the Escalade.
Granted they’ve always been poorly made vehicles, the problem is they aren’t as nice as the other unreliable German brands so why by a poorly made less nice Cadillac
@@kgisabeast Well all German brands aren't created equal. A Mercedes, depending on year/model is proven more reliable also, but yeah that is what I've been saying for year. Even when a vehicle like this works as intended it's nothing special. That is why people buy Land Rovers, BMWs and every other unreliable brand, for when it's working, the experience is superior to something like this CT4 or any Cadillac. The Escalade is their only bright spot right now.
Great video as usual. I don’t understand why certain car companies are getting rid of there 6 cylinder engines like Honda.
Thanks Sofyan. No complaints from me regarding your review. I did note that the mini-V managed to get a few chuckles out of you. I'm looking forward to a full cackle when the Blackwing version comes out (please, please pull some strings to get a tester with the manual trans!). Also, you gave the exhaust note a major pass - sounded like a lawnmower to me! :-)
I think you should do full drive before you start your intros (off camera) It’s plain to see you came into this not expecting or wanting to like it. But after driving it your tone changed a lot. It’s a pattern I’ve noticed in your recent videos.
Im so confused with the announcement of them going all electric. Are we getting electric versions of these or are they gonna axe them like they always do to their good models? (*cough cough* CT6)
With your high standards, if you like this, that says a lot! I'm debating about going back to a sports sedan from a crossover and this might be the one.
Lets see how it sounds ::
***sad engine groans***
Very sad...like a blender ;)
@@sietafak A dying blender...
I love it!! My town is starting to crack down on loud exhausts. This is perfect
Would you take this over a Type S?
Wish it had the 3.6 v6 like the ats. A better exhaust note. Love the look. If it handles like the magna ride in my ats premium with performance pkg it's a win, should be better with the upgraded mag ride. Will see as I plan to test one soon. I'm probably gonna be getting the ct5v, we will see........ Lol
Looking forward to the refresh in 2022 with the twin turbo 2 cylinder and CVT!
😂😂
LOL
Why not a single cylinder with tri turbos..
😂😂😂
CVT lol.. ugh
Would love to see this compared against other non European compact luxury too. Especially the g70 and is300.
I'll save you the wait , both those cars are better than this lol
IS300 is slow ass Sh1t, so is the IS350.
G70 3.3t is fast (I currently own a 2020 3.3t) previous car was IS350.
The G70 transmission sucks and so does the Lexus.
Haven’t Driven the CADDY
@@closg9309 the 3rd gen is350 is slower, but the 2nd gen one is not slow. It could do 0-60 in 4.8 seconds
I wouldlike to know if Alex would take this or a ATS v instead, and why.
That engine sounds like our Ninja blender.... Whooooooo.... :( Glad you turned the hazard lights on, MotorWeek style!
why do you say the interior is basic? It has metal buttons, thick steering wheel, nice infotainment, premium sound, and leather.
Yes keep Rockin it

Such a nice car - Soyfan know with these Cadillac. 👍🏻
I think it looks beautiful!
The Genesis G70 was not mentioned that is also RWD or AWD and offers better value, performance, tech and warranty. It should be a much better choice.
genesis isn't a competitor of this car, its more like competitor to other Korean brands.
As a viewer, this interior doesn’t look to be any nicer in quality or design than that of a Nissan.
I agree with you. In my mind it just seems that Cadillac is just trying to get by. They have to change people’s perception. I know that Cadillac still shares parts with GM. You can make the exterior look good, but I personally appreciate a well crafted interior.
Exactly
More like the new Mazdas, to me at least.
@@sopwithsnoopy8779 it’s so ugly and dated looking. Those gauges look straight out of 2014, embarrassing for GM.
4:33 the sound of a kazoo with a turbo 😄, I wouldn’t call that beefy
Beefy as in it's large , 2.7L is about as big as a 4 cyl gets
Hey man, I would like to see if you could include fuel injection type on the engine option description part, I'm curious to know if direct, or port, or both. For every review not just this one, I know toyota sold rights to they're dual setup so I'm curious to know what manufacturers are using it yet or they're own, thanks
extremely doubtful that this is port
The interior would be nice... in a Chevy.
@Trey Lennon: Ooooh, That was harsh!!
you are right, it looks like something out of 90's Lumina
That interior is incredibly disappointing. Major low effort from Caddy and GM yet again. Non-luxury brands offer nicer and more modern looking interiors. Hell the new Sonata’s interior is nicer than this.
See what 50k will buy you at the BMW store
@@pontiacGXPfan who said anything about a bmw? A bad interior is a bad interior. You don’t need to compare to a bimmer to see that.
@@caglioso people act like Cadillac is the only luxury brand that has ever built a cheap interior. German brands intentionally cheap out so they can upsell you to pay for something more expensive
@@pontiacGXPfan I don’t see what one has to do with the other. This isn’t a comparison with German brands.
@@pontiacGXPfan a $50k BMW will still have a much nicer interior space. This Caddy's interior is a joke.
will you review the diesel escalade
About 20 yrs ago, 60 Minutes reported that 11% of the average cost of most GM cars (back then I think the average cost was $27,600 based on cars sold during a calendar year), is attributed towards UAW concessions. This may be one reason why as a value preposition, similar Acura, Lexus, Audi, Mercedes cars have the upper hand. If the MSRP on a CT4-V is $52K and an Acura TLX (w/ SH-AWD) is $48.8,..... Same for a C-Class ($48.6), Lexus ES350 F Sport ($46.9) or a loaded Audi A4 ($42K with AWD). I like everything the Caddy has to offer. But from a value perspective,...
My Chrysler 200 did that rev hang thing when I was parked before it scared the shit out of me.
Can we see an S-class review on this channel, we love to watch
Sofyan at 9:25 AND 15:00 you said 8 sp automatic transmission! Bro you having flashbacks lol! It's a 10 speed transmission lol. Your editor didn't whooops the 9:25 misquote.
The engine sounds like an angry blender
I am glad there is no flat bottom steering wheel. I really don't see the point. It just makes it so the wheel won't slide smoothly through your hand while driving around.
That's perfect for me. I don't even have a car but this is swell.
genesia g70 lexus is350 rsport?
This car in person is very nice.
This is similar to what lexus did with the ISF, F- sport. This is like a V-sport, confusing to say the least. It makes good power, has good fit and finish, I hate the rear, but love the CT5V. With bolts-ons and a good tune, shouldn't be hard to see 400whp.
I love this handsome little sports sedan. My favorite in the segment, no doubt.
Over 50k for this???? What a joke.. Lol
Nah good deal for me the car looks beautiful and feels luxurious
Generic motors
I’d give maybe 15k for it with that cute little 4 banger
What do you expect a luxury car with 300+ hp? Were not in 2010 anymore you idiot. Go buy a civic si for 30k and get 200hp lol
its a luxury brand lol everything isn't going to be 20k anymore yo
Error. The LT-1, LT-4 engines from the Nineties into the early 2000's, depending on the car model and engine options from GM cars in which the engine options were chosen during ordering a vehicle.
Beautiful car
That conversation after the videographer gets out of the car after revving it is the most "stop taking to me" interaction I've ever heard 🤣🤣🤣
shame they didn't include this powertrain in the current Camaro ... I'm kinda liking this CT4-V
0-60 in 4.5 is actually equivalent to a dodge rt, for a daily drive it’s actually a pretty good car
What R/T from Dodge prints a 4.5 0-60?
@@bmshaven 4.8 challenger rt close enough
Kinda dumb how they are trying to say this CT4 competes with CLA/A3 when it’s 10 inches longer. Nope. It should be marketed as a 3 Series competitor that costs a lot less.
Would be a sweet alternative if you could buy one over here in Germanistan. Could be mistaken for a Peugeot though because of the similar DLRs.
I think the ATS-V is better.
The ats v had 140 more horsepower
Correct why buy a half ass car
Don't say that, is you say this and gm see it, next generation of cadillac's compact sport sedan will be on a front wheel drive platform.
@@wagrj5738 GM isn’t going to look at some random dudes comment.
@@lucascarreviews gm asked sofyan to make a video for their newest product, which means they will definitely read it
I'm looking at a Caddy as a next car. This car is for drivers like me, but I just cant part with my dollars when the CT5-V is just a far superior package (interior, exterior, engine) without handling compromises for a 5K or so more. I really dont like the way the rear looks here, its 4 cylinder and the interior is drab.
So if its ten inches longer than its competitors and still has a smaller than average trunk how is backseat legroom so small? Geez my Dodge Dart has more legroom than that. Where did all the space go?
I don’t understand why this competes with the A3, CLA, and 2 series gran coupe but not the c300, 3 series or Lexus IS when it is literally THE SAME SIZE as those but cheaper. Same goes for the CT5 with the 5 series, e class, etc. Why are these cadillacs put into the lower classes when they are obviously bigger?
Sofyan is thinking "GOD DAMNIT! shut those birds the FUCK UP!"
I like the looks and I like the idea of a three tier setup. But the interior man...I’d honestly rather just save my money and get an Accord
You lost me at 50k
$52K is a little steep for that car. Although I like it I think it’s more in the $45K price range. I would also prefer the AWD model. Great review 👊🏻
52K for a Caddy?
MAYBE cadillac should have kept the 2.0l from the ATS and turned up the boost for the ct4, because it already made 282 hp and didn't sound like crap.
8:34 those 2 knobs. Cant un see that lol
Thanks I hate it
The designer is blind apparently
This car feels a little too compromised to meet a specific price point. Maybe the driving experience is the wow factor with this car because, otherwise, it does nothing for me. The pricing seems consistent with the competition. MB is simply ridiculous. I don't know why anyone would spend 60K on a CLA-35.
So right about the rear end design....not good! Thx Sofyan
It looks like a Bangle Butt
Too much truck engine DNA in that turbo 4. However, would like to see it make its way to the XT4.
It has more hp that the s3,a35and the m235i.

I just had to google CT4 and CT5 to tell they are different cars. I must of missed the reveal of the CT4.
The Alfa Romeo Giulia is another rear-biased option competing in the same price and similar performance points. Not that I'm endorsing it, just pointing it out.
No sun roof?
If only Cadillac put as much effort in interior design as they do exterior design. With mainstream brands moving upmarket each year, Cadillac needs to do better. A mazda 6 signature makes a better impression
I miss the ats-v
The interior looks like it belongs in 2014
It's not the best sounding exhaust note, but it sounds just a tad better than that 2018 Buick Regal GS from a few years back.
Delete the exhaust and it'll sound wayyyyy better
cadillac is only saying it competes with 2 series and a3 to make it look better its obviously close to the same size as the 3 series and c class
It looks like a late 2000’s Camry from the side lol.
Yup. I have one. Still going strong
Can they make the CT4 with a manual
yes
whats sad is my 19 Kia Forte basicaly has the same interior as this lol
Beautiful car 😍😍
Get a regular ct4 light tune and it’s the same thing if not faster
19inch wheels should be standard on this thing also a sunroof
Did Garbage Manufacturing hire Chris Bangle to design the rear end? LMAO
CT4-V isn’t the replacement for the ATS-V it’s the replacement for the ATS-V sport Cadillacs version of an M sport. Replacement for the ATS-V will be the AT4-V sport. Please do more research before you mislead people
and noone ever even attempted to hear 4-cylrs....😂
I thought Genesis also had RWD......with more bells and whistles on the interior......They come out with a super version they got them all beat in my book.
Who gets a genesis tho?
