  • Hello, Comrades, in this video we will talk about the Mid War Rhodesian SAS ( RhSAS) airsoft loadout.
    We will discuss difference between Cross-border and Domestic Reid Uniforms and Equipment, brief history of the Brushstroke Camouflage, and uniform pieces in this pattern that was commonly used by RhSAS
    Also this video will be useful for people who are interested in other Rhodesian Units equipment, since we will discuss all types of load carrying equipment that was used during the Rhodesian Bush War: British Pattern 44, South African Pattern 61/64, Rhodesian Pattern 69, South African Pattern 70, Chinese Chicom, American m1956, m1967, ALICE and some more.

    I giggled a bit at the beginning when you called it the "C" cap, the "C" was a very rude term that we used to describe the cap.

    Very professional, and substantive. If you ever had the time and resources, I would ask something about 1SADF, 2 RECCES, 32nd BATTALION, 4 Koevoet /GREEN BOOTS, I just have a small request, Could you leave these photos with the equipment longer?

    The Pattern 70 does have a different belt that can be used. It has snaps around it for securing the pouches, which is why they all have snaps at the rear. Also P70 kit wasn't used that often. Just some components, or a few sets that may have been donated by SADF units operating in Rhodesia.

    Another piece I would add is that the SAS had lightweight pants too. They were cut differently and with a different material. Very hard to come by.

      Yes, that is something I missed to discuss, I like the drawstrings on that lightweight pants.

    is it "okayish" to use british 58 pattern webbing aswel? i have seen few pictures whe it was used but i ges it wasn under regulations or common

      It is extremely uncommon, So saw only one picture that may potentially be p58.
      It was issued 6 years prior to UDI so it didn’t make its way to Rhodesia, maybe someone brought couple of them on their own, but I wouldn’t use it for reenactment.

    The eyelets don’t need to go around all the way because they adjust the size and there is no need to make them go too small because you probably won’t find anyone in service that is that size

      I know that they are just for size, I am saying that half a f the belt I saw had eyelets all way around and half- now, and I have no idea why.

      You can use some pouches I gotta keep mine practical for airsoft so I got a 58 pattern belt and yoke and I got 2 Rhodesian FAL mag pouches 3 South African ones and some communist style ones and some American ones it’s not 100% accurate but it will do for airsoft

      Mate I cannot recall too well, it was around 45 years ago when I was involved there. I think some of the AK's I saw had slings, but not all of them, personal choice, I think. Obviously all of the RPD's had them.@@K33ev2

    Those big p44 pouches are good if you are a MAG or RPD gunner. It can hold machine gun belts pretty well.
