    One thing. The Chicom chest rig in Vietnam were either khaki or a greyish color. The bright green coloration is post-war

      The one in the video is post war, but there were just slightly darker olive vests used in Vietnam, produced in 1969. I own one of them as well.

    Tiger Stripe was also produced in Japan.
    One pattern is called Okinawa or JWD.

    15:52 the handguard being that way is because the export models had smooth handguards, not because it was changed.

    • @RedIvanAirsoftEng
      @RedIvanAirsoftEng  Před 11 měsíci +2

      I heard that there are Romanian PM MD 65 and PM MD 63 with basic AKM style handguards, but not sure if it was specially for export. And if it was always the case, as there are many conflicts like Rhodesia, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Livia where you see a lot of AKs with dong.
      I saw AKs with the dong in Vietnam.
      On some pictures and on my AK in the video there is an AK47 handguard, not AKM style handguard, Romanians couldn’t install them on the factory as they did not produce them.

      @@RedIvanAirsoftEng Ok, I thought it was only on export models since i never saw MD65 in vietnam with the dong, and i have a couple pictures from Afghanistan war with smooth handguard MD65, but youre probably right.

    Question on the AK variant your using, so basically it is an AKM but with the older style muzzle device (The nut instead of the slanted compensator)

    • @RedIvanAirsoftEng
      @RedIvanAirsoftEng  Před 6 měsíci

      It is Romanian PM MD 65, AKMS with older nut and stock from AK47.
      But you can use normal, fixed stock AKM with any muzzle device, I say them on the pictures

    So was LC 2 ever used in Vietnam?

    • @RedIvanAirsoftEng
      @RedIvanAirsoftEng  Před 2 lety +3

      LC1 and LC2 physically could not be used in the Vietnam since they were developed after the war.

    LRRPs rarely used captured weapons...they are just posing with captured weapons for the photographs. Xm177e1s or M16a1s would be more accurate. And you are painted enough.

      @RedIvanAirsoftEng  Před 18 dny

      I have enough evidences and pictures featuring at least point-men carrying AK.
      Some LRRP members as mister Patrick Tadina carried AK every time as being American with Asian roots it have him an advantage.
