Same here. I miss the days when you could just watch someone play a survival world from the beginning and learn along the way. Even long after you've learned the basics, you can still learn something new if that person does it differently than another player you've watched. I don't always take ToyCat's advice, but when I do I have more fun!

Sometimes I fall into the thinking I'm just learning about life and hearing someone vent, then he's like "Yeah I'm enjoying fighting a raid in my newest village" and I'm like wow that's right, I'm watching a Minecraft video

Honestly I love longer form videos since i can usually make do with the audio only and even with the longer lets plays that you made I sometimes used to put them on the background while playing games myself or working. Although a lot of people have moved away from longer videos I still feel like they are very much needed on this platform.

totally agree! i love long lets plays cause i put them on while i work. its the only type of lets play i watch or record! its just a timeless style of video.

Ultimately, we cannot control how we feel (insecure), how others behave (pointing out flaws, poking fun), or the laws of physics (time passes, things change, we get older). We can only do what we can do, and if that isn’t enough, there’s nothing we can do about that. Everyone finds this scary; it is okay and normal to be scared by how little control we have over our futures. ❤️

I’ve been playing 1.6 just to see what old Minecraft felt like and it’s more fun than modern Minecraft because it’s so simple I don’t have to worry about what to build or do or you just live in a cage and just do what I want.
for me it was the nether update era, so much good content and so much time to watch it
No, no, no, no…. You can’t do an episode about potion brewing and not make a massive auto-brewing farm that makes 1000 potions per hour and automatically farms every possible potion ingredient… or maybe you can.
As always, thanks again for your particular brand of Minecraft content that somehow seems so much more relevant, accessible and entertaining than a lot of other content on CZcams.

a theory: because so many people make youtube videos now, there are different styles. you no longer need to be good at talking for 30 mins with no cuts, you can be artistic in another way. but i do love your videos, and streams, i love watching you do realistic things and hearing to you talk. i think people started seeing crazily edited videos and felt their unedited videos weren't on par, but they aren't comparable tbh! they are different and good in their own ways, and these types of videos are lacking so much, and that's why i appreciate what you do, a lot. thank you toycat
I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that people have maximised the types of videos they want.
Videos like these got replaced with streams, which are longer, but offer more interactivity. And due to the large supply of streams, there was less of a desire for long videos.

Obviously you know more than I, so maybe it's not the same for you but it has happened to me where it's almost as though the speed of thought is *slightly* faster than the speed of speech. Resulting in like a verbal stumble as you elaborate on an idea.
Even being articulate and concise it can happen alot with fast paced thinking. I think its a bit endearing lol! I remember growing up in hood NYC in the early 2000s people might say to me "why you talk like that? You HERB!" for speaking without a slang drenched urban accent.
I never even notice it from you, if that's any consolation. Nice video anyway, great to work on some Minecraft stuff while I listen. I won't play any other way lately 😅

For me I'm happy watching a let's play the struggle and grind is enough entertainment on its own. I see so many CZcamsrs try to be exactly what you said...and its not for me. I think they shpuld just do what they enjoy and most likely others will too

This is also true on multiplayer servers. I enjoy watch players just hang out and have a good time. They don’t need to have a giant prank war tournament of death.
Whether it be 400 or 500 you should always be proud of the fan base you have as your are miles beyond many others honestly. Also not criticism at all as I enjoy your builds and dialog but would you consider lining the interior walls of the bottle with red wool or red concrete to give the illusion of liquid interior?

I still can’t comprehend how a water source in the ground fills bottles forever. But the exact same water source in a cauldron only fills a few bottles.

All you have to do to make it 2012 style is turn the render distance down to 5 chunks and record the video in 540P

People's attention span is much lower than what is was in 2012, people NEED constant animations and graphics on the screen to grab their attention, this is why modern gaming is not what it is used to be, I'm sad about it
I actually prefer the older let’s plays because they are just short videos where he goes around doing random small things he think would be cool and talks about random things he found interesting.
I wish CZcams still promoted more chill content like this. I don't care if Generic Minecraft CZcamsr #8,810,467 did some insane challenge that's obviously fake anyways. The idea that whatever is happening in the video is now far more important than who's in the video or their actual personality is kind of a sad reality.
i would love for u to revisit the legacy editions and maybe do a lets play on the og 360

Modern day youtube bad for viewers? no, bad for content creators? YES. Also I miss watching, idk, like Tobuscus play Minecraft and be in the same area making the same house for like 5 episodes. Or losing progress rather than progressing, granted the episodes were like 15 minutes long and it was the early days of Minecraft so it wasn't super intuitive. Point is though I'm one of the few viewers that support those creators that don't necessarily do the same thing everyone else does ya know. Minecraft 100 days? Eh, Minecraft 50 days the way ibxtoycat does it? Yess
